this is the worst you can do workout really hard with lots of heavy lifting (if u wanna build muscle and lose fat) but only do it 4-5 times a week Your body needs to rest and if you dont get sore then you didnt work out
2018-10-18 19:13
soreness does not mean shit. And you should not be sore after a while, only at the beginning

soreness does mean something please do some fucking research about this shit, because im sure I know more than you since I've been watching real doctors and athletes talk about this stuff, and I've been working out for many years.

probably don't need a hardcore gym session every day of the week, but on those "rest" days you should still strive to be active, like idk, go ride a bike or something, brisk walk, etc
2018-10-18 19:33
1. chest arms 2. arms abs 3. back arms 4. shoulders arms 5. abs arns 6. arms 7. abs arms
2018-10-18 19:34
legs? LOL
2018-10-18 21:50
u dont need legs irl
2018-10-19 06:00
xD
2018-10-19 21:50
beginner: 3x a week advanced: 4-5x a week max pro/roids = 6-7x a week everything else is retarded. of course some genetics are better and some muscles recover faster but training 6-7x a week when u just started is pointless
2018-10-18 19:37
You need some rest, but you can easily workout 6 days a week if you follow a specific program. One of the most upvoted programs on /r/fitness is the PPL program, which is: Monday: PULL Tuesday: PUSH Wednesday: LEGS and then repeat Sunday: Rest-day. Alternatively you can do monday-wednesday, rest thursday, and workout friday, saturday and sunday, but i like having sunday off. There's a ton of different ways to workout. If you workout each muscle group more than once a week, it's great for muscle-growth, but not ideal if you want to get very strong.
2018-10-18 21:14
if he is a beginner PPL is not the right routine. i did it after working out for 2 months and after 3-4 weeks, i stopped gaining muscle mass. it's just too much for a body that isn't used for muscles yet. for me lower body upper body rest PUSH PULL LEGS worked the best as advanced routine
2018-10-19 06:24
For beginner I'd advice whole body workout, rest few days until full recover, then repeat.
2018-10-19 21:24
working out is just like %25 percent of getting in shape. Eating appropriate to your body and resting (i mean 7-8 hours night sleep) is %75. After work out session, you need to rest big muscle groups 48 hours (Back, chest, leg, ) to have them recovered, and smaller muscles need 24 hours of resting (shoulder, biceps, triceps). Try this if you want to see some improvement. There are so many details but it is ok for this question.

Ignore the no pain-no gain thing above. 7 times a week/less/more only depends on your purpose and everything else in your life outside of gym,
2018-10-18 21:16
"no pain-no gain thing" isn't about visiting gym 7 times a week.

I take Saturday's off, it tends to be my busiest day socially. Thus I don't want to have to cram working out somewhere in there. I also do a 2-day split so 6 days just fits better.
