[HACKING] Serious topic

Do you think cheaters on pro scene should be fined or even imprisoned? What they do is actually preventing honest players from taking their chances on tournaments -> they lose potential money prizes which may be pretty decent. Basically it is a crime, like a robbery or a financial fraud. Thoughts?

They should be arrested, since so much money is involved, its basically a robbery. We should learn from communist China and their laws related to gaming, especially cheat coding. Every kind of fraud or a scam should be considered a crime!

Some matches can be made before, like they already know who is winning or they can cheat because they need advantage.

2018-10-20 11:32
no cuz valve actually supports cheating it makes the game more dramatic. would be boring if not single one taps are happening.
2018-10-19 12:57
Yes, but usually the one's that are cheating are not even semi-pro. But, as long there's money involved, there sure should be consequences.

I think they should be fined 10% of the winning money so it's a high price to pay and they won't do it because they are scared of paying like 10k to 100k $ for cheating.

Well, they lose their contract and thats the same as losing money. Plus most guys that got caught didnt really make much in prize money
2018-10-20 23:44
They do in China but really, no. The claim I hear sometimes is fined for messing up bets and stuff but thats just dumb because betting illegal lol.
2018-10-20 09:48
The authorities shouldn't care about kids playing video games
2018-10-20 09:49
The topic is not about mg1 kids hacking in MM but those who ruin carreers of the other players
2018-10-20 09:51
Still, my answer remains the same. It would be legally really hard to make a case where if you cheat at a certain level you get fined/time in prison, but if you cheat at another level nothing happens to you. Even if it was possible, it's a dumb concept.
2018-10-20 09:54
Why? If you have signed a contract with an org that means you are playing pro

+1 way too many variables
2018-10-20 14:03
both, fined and inprisoned, but it should depend from how much money prize they have take
2018-10-20 09:56
I'm wondering if optic India most return their prize money? I think the player should be fined but the org should be forced to check the players pc once in a while
2018-10-20 10:00
Yeah, stuff like that gets taken very seriously in China, a few years ago, a cs scammer got arrested. thetechdudz.com/cs-go-scammer-jailed-aft.. there's also a link to a McSkillet video at the bottom rip

2018-10-20 13:41
Yes they shuold be punished in heavy way. Pros put lot of time to cs cuz it's like ther job and they competes with other pros about prize moneys, and then someone who hasn't put that much effort on training decides to cheat, basically steals some of that prize money that someone else deserved.

Fined yes Prison is a stretch though
2018-10-20 11:54
Well, if valve weren't lazy asses, they could legally sue the cheating players as it breaks the ToS.
2018-10-20 13:46
They should be punished imo, but only if they win money/prizes whilst cheating I'm not sure how heavy of a punishment imprisonment will be, but maybe a choice between imprisonment or a lot of community service is a better option

I think they should not/will not be imprisoned. as I will refer from football whenever someone cheats, for example, a drug or something. They will be fined and banned from competition for a while, that's an appropriate response according to me.
