4:3 problem
Poland misterr_
hello I'm using amd gpu and after updating drivers to the newest version 18.10.1 my screen on 4:3 (or any resolution lower than native 1920x1080) looks pretty weird, like it is a bit too sharp. screens: imgur.com/a/IkJCL2q Pixels are more visible, around crosshair there is this black 'border' that makes crosshair sharp from normal distance etc. On 18.3 drivers everything works pretty good. Any ideas?

2018-10-21 15:09
it happens on every resolution other than 1920x1080 even on videos (for example player streams in 1024x768 i clearly see that image isnt like it should be)

2018-10-21 15:24
idk how to advice when people use AMD.. its shit overall
2018-10-21 15:24
i've never had problems with amd, except this one :/
2018-10-21 15:29
??? Using amd for over a year with ZERO problems.
2018-10-21 19:35
wait till it burns soon then you start seeing stripes on your monitor :)
2018-10-21 19:39
Burns? Lmao it runs cooler than nvidia's equivalent. 68° C on AC syndicate max settings. 55° on csgo lmfao.
2018-10-21 19:44
temperature -/- material quality that can't handle with 55ºc
2018-10-21 20:02
LOL who told you that?
2018-10-21 21:24
Maybe you're living in 2001 where that burning shit happened and things used to blow up when dying.
2018-10-21 21:26
no i got two of my friends who burned two top end amd's in 2017 they replaced for gtx 1080ti and they are really happy with the same rig (one replaced for gtx 1060) i dont mean it burned it simply started apearing black stripes on the screen and blackscreen no fix found till now they tried on other pc's
2018-10-21 22:27
Maybe they didn't maintain their PC over time or they cheaped out on their PSUs, it never hurts to clean the card every 2 months if you want a longer life span.
2018-10-22 04:40
i said high end pc. they are rich they choose high Quality PSU also one of them had a closed PC aircooled that cant get any dirt inside
2018-10-22 15:44
Closed case => high temps but no dirt. Case with good ventilation => cooler but dirt finds it way inside. These are just the basics of PC building
2018-10-22 17:46
OMG ur so dumb closed case doesnt mean worst temps LMAO ur so fucking dumb plz kys

2018-10-22 19:03
dude im on your side now.. since nvidia is making drivers worse to lower the performance to people buy the RX2080 FUCK NVIDIA i will never use official nvidia drivers again! Only modded drivers with wallhack in csgo! *jk about the wallhack
2018-10-23 03:35
Plus AMD always had the edge on image quality and colors, even though my main rig has a higher tier nvidia GPU but it sucks in image quality no matter how much you try to tweak through its panel.
2018-10-21 19:48
wtf you on about? AMD gpu gets you everything you need: a heater for cold winters a stove for cooking breakfast and a low performance pc for browsing internet and playing tetris

2018-10-21 20:03
go back to 18.3, thank me later xD
2018-10-21 15:13
lul xD but thats outdated driver, in amd every update = few% improvements in some games :/
2018-10-21 15:16
best idea ever, listen to me you kurwa: if u wanna play cs, get that outdated one, if u wanna play other games like super mario bros, update it
2018-10-21 15:17
lol thats an idea i love you fitta <3

2018-10-21 15:21

2018-10-21 16:02
ummm o.O for sure im not stalking u and for sure I didnt know u live in south poland, you just told me
2018-10-21 16:57
fbi already called (i really live in south poland xddd)
2018-10-21 17:35
FBI hasn't been notified, you didn't call them. Also you probably live in Silesia
2018-10-21 18:51
I think you should stick to the old driver, even if you have some improvements (probably it doesn't make things much better)
2018-10-21 17:40
i think i will do that because i spent most time in csgo :/ but still... i contacted amd support, i wait for their fix maybe.

You can fix it by buying Nvidia card xD
2018-10-21 15:37
there wouldn't be any problem because in every game other than cs i play 1920x1080, but 4;3 in cs :/
2018-10-21 15:43
Nvidia in 2k18 omegalul. 760 performs like 750ti with the latest drivers lmao.
2018-10-21 19:37
use the amds driver uninstaller and than reinstall the driver
2018-10-21 15:43
didn't work
2018-10-21 16:28
what GPU do you use? Might wanna change it if you would like to use 4:3.
2018-10-21 15:44
i was using r9 270 and everything was working i changed for rx 580 and this happens now :/ on r9 270 everything was working even on newest drivers on rx 580 it works only on 18.3 and older
2018-10-21 15:48
wtf my r9 270x just died bc i spilled water on it and i'm about to buy rx 580 what a coincidence.. mb i should go for nvidia instead. ;D
2018-10-21 16:32
card is doing very well, i have sapphire nitro+ and i searched whole internet, only i have this problem i think + i remember this problem was on 270 as well but somehow i fixed it, i dont remember how
2018-10-21 17:36
do you use with gpu scalling on or off?
2018-10-21 18:56
and make sure it is in preserve aspect ratio
2018-10-21 18:57
also, try changing the msaa to 4x or 8x in game
2018-10-21 18:59
i use gpu scalling off. and this happens on preserve aspect ratio aswell as on full panel. changing msaa doesnt change anything :(( i feel sad
2018-10-21 19:16
try using with gpu scalling on :)
2018-10-21 19:17
and also, report the problem in the amd forum. maybe they fix it in the next patch xd
2018-10-21 19:17
yeah, i contacted them via email. i think they dont work on week so i have to wait till monday ;p
2018-10-21 19:21

It likely just turned up or changed your settings a bit..go through your settings make sure they aren’t all maxed out
2018-10-21 17:40
my idea is that windows somehow try to upscale my resolution to native 1920x1080 or just drivers are fked up because of new windows :/

what monitor you using ? on my old shitty benq messing with a setting called "pixel clock" would make it more or less sharp
2018-10-21 19:41
its asus mg248q strange cuz i never touched here anything except saturation
2018-10-21 22:00
It's 2018 and you're still using 4:3 cause the pros use it. Maybe YOU are the problem :v
2018-10-21 19:41
noo im just used to it. 16:9 feels bit weird for me in csgo, tho in pubg and every other game i play this haha
2018-10-21 22:00
I played 4:3 for quite a while, it was good but my aim just got better when I tried 16:9 :D Plus the fov benefits while clutching became the real deal
2018-10-21 22:26
Play Cs on xbox360 then
