So much violence in the region. Drug cartels, shootings in the street etc2. Do you think this will end anytime soon and what would be the solution to contain the region?

Until the cartel takes the new presidents family as hostages. Corruption won't fade until they bring down the cartels.

the problem in Mexico is corruption across ALL society** (fixed that for you)... As long as the people keep thinking that a single politician is going to end the corruption that is hardwired in every sphere of society, nothing is going to change.

Argentina and UruGAY are pretty western latin american countries, compared to central america and colombia
2018-11-03 15:11
Wtf not all central america is the same
2019-02-12 03:50
I don't know super much about central america besides the fact that most countries there historically were extremely corrupt and basically run by USA.
2019-02-12 12:48
You just gotta know that the further south in central america you go the better it gets

Hes talking about mainly central america like El salvador and Honduras which both are unfortunately very violent.
2018-11-03 15:12
No, I can't see it ever changing. There is nothing politicians, policeforces or the general public can do against mafia-families. How do you stop those that have no limits? If you prosecute/arrest them, you and you family dies, that's why nobody is even willing to try to stop them.

There are small rural communities all across Mexico who have armed themselves and eradicated all organized crime from their lands, never say never.
2019-02-12 07:39
Brazil is one of the most to blame for being indirectly financing the organized crime and drug cartels, and not just in Latin America, in the last decade. Hopefully it will take a turn for the better now .
