I work in high end audio. A good dac will have a massively lower signal to noise ratio than say soundblaster and other "gaming" dacs or motherboard built-in ones, which becomes evident mainly when listenting to songs with a high dynamic range. The sound itself It won't be alot crisper or so since its litterally just translating 0s and 1s (from a coordinate system) to an analog sinus wave (which, assuming the dac works as intended, it should unpack the files like any other dac in the world), it just improves well produced songs by removing artifacts (noise) that isn't supposed to be there.
There is alot of snake oil and placebo going into digital audio. My personal tip is to even up a good pair of headphones with a good dac. Insane headphone with an insane dac, just to ensure the chain is good all around. If you have a mid-end headphone you could try a ASUS Xonar card, or a personal recommendation, the little brother of the dac that i have, which is Dragonfly Black, (goes for around 100usd).
I'm an active seeder on a private tracker so i am basically having my own seedbox on the pc, so i kinda need some storage. Also gotta have space for my fire mixtapes that i made when i was 15.
hope that answers the question, otherwise let me know so i can clarify or expand some more :p
