Lol..he ain't even in the top 5 I know his movies are spectacular and mind-blowing to say the least with that whole unlinear thing going on but he , as of now, can't just can't be compared with some of the most influential directors we've had since the dawn of film-making

In Hollywood, my favorite director alive is William Friedkin, tho he is really old by now. Paul Thomas Anderson is the most talented director to rise after the 90’s, even tho he is now retired. My all time favorite Hollywood director is surely John Ford.

Sam Raimi Not for Spiderman, but for Evil Dead trilogy. Evil Dead 2 is a masterpiece which deserves a mountain named after it. Absurd horror comedy at it's very best with minimal funding. The genre is very similar to Braindead by Peter Jackson. Quentin Tarantino for being able to revive otherwise completely dead careers (John Travolta and others) and for being the one to introduce unrelated to plot, but strong character building dialogues. ("Royale with cheese", anyone?) Worthy danish mention: Anders Thomas Jensen, who made several social realistic absurd comedies (ok last one isn't that realistic in the end, but still :D) Flickering Lights The Green Butchers Adam's Apples Men & Chicken. If you ever want to watch a Danish movie, watch these, Flickering Lights being the best of them all, a true masterpiece and probably my favorite movie of all time. Basically I love anyone who can create absurd comedies, a genre which is very hard to do right.

>Christopher Nolan hahahahHAHA No subtlety, no character depth. >Martin Scorsese No, he went downhill after the 90s, there are many superior american directors >Ingmar Bergman easily top 10, maybe top 3 >James Cameron C'mon son >Peter Jackson No, braindead and LOTR are his only good films

You find him quote BORING because you're probably an action/thriller junkie who does not appreciate good story-telling and subtle dark humour. But hey..whatever makes you happy man

You need some intelligence for his movies, they are not for the wide audience. 2001: A Space Odyssey is just a masterpiece, no movie will ever come close.
