how is this ram bad? why 1060 6GB isn't worth it anymore when prices are good right now?
2018-11-07 23:09
16 is enough but go for ddr4 3000mhz
2018-11-07 23:10
this motherboard supports 2666 max and difference between 2400 and 2666 isn't worth the price

He is using intel the speed is not as significant compared to ryzen

Whats wrong with 1060
2018-11-07 23:11
1060 6gb waste of money, 5% better than 3gb version for 20-40% more money cs uses 500mb vram.
2018-11-07 23:12
so is it better to go for 3GB? if I buy now I won't change GPU for like 2-3 years because I don't really play high end games gta v, fifa, f1, csgo then we will have GTA VI (6GB will do better), maybe RDR2 for pc?
2018-11-07 23:26
if you plan on playing those games then take 6GB for sure
2018-11-07 23:29
I think so too right now gpu prices are good for buying and 1060 GB is only 50$ more expensive than 3GB

gta V is such an extremely badly ported game that it doesnt even run at 60fps on a SLI GTX Titan, rockstar sucks at pc support, you will need a fucking 5k pc to play any GTA game on pc on highest settings when it comes out and it will take years of patching and hardware improvements to make it playable on anyting less. my advice is that it doesnt look like you can afford to play gta 6 but if you can live with low fps and stutter and texture popin then you can run it on a 1060 6gb a bit better than on 3gb but more vram is really not any use if your cpu is already bottlenecking.

If u play 1080p and u can sacrifice settings sometimes go for 3gb

when u can get a 1070ti for more what 100bucks?
2018-11-07 23:12
I won't even use the full power of 1060 6GB but I feel like 3GB ver would be not enough if I want to play something new in few months
2018-11-07 23:21
you cant run shit on highest settings on an i5 and a 1060 anyway, you cant afford 4k screen, no need for >3gb atm
2018-11-08 12:13
exactly my thought but I would to know why people here write it isn't worth it but they won't tell you why xD

wheres the cooler, power adap etc?
2018-11-07 23:08
obviously stock cooler, it's i5 8400... no need for aftermarket cooling to this cpu I wrote that psu (which is power supply unit) and rest will be from my current setup
2018-11-07 23:11
getting that 3 extra GB of ram on the 1060 is way less important than having unlocked multiplier on cpu buy k version i5 first and then spend the rest on gpu. or wait and buy the 1060 6gb in a few months. cpu is more important because it will last a long time if you buy a good one. gpu you replace soon anyway. also 2400 cl16 isnt great, try 2400 cl12
2018-11-07 23:11
price difference between 3GB and 6GB is smaller than price difference between i5 8400+stock cooler+that mobo and i5 8600k+aftermarket cooling + Z370 mobo it's about 200$ more if I would go for 8600k,z370 and decent cooling

2018-11-08 12:18
maybe because I don't live in USA and here in Poland this setup costs 1000$?
2018-11-08 21:49
i would go with the new i5 9600k
2018-11-09 17:09
I don't see the point of buying 16gb with such setup
2018-11-09 17:12
8GB is sometimes enough and sometimes not enough anyway, I decided to go for slitghly better setup because why not i5-8600k MSI Z370 gaming plus gigabyte GTX 1060 6gb gskill ripjaws 2x8gb 3200 cl16 SilentiumPC Fortis 3 v2 still a budget pc but a better budget
2018-11-11 00:44
Ye thats much better
2018-11-11 09:42
welp, shit escalated quickly and I will have much more decided 100% i5-8600k MSI Z370 Tomahawk ZOTAC GTX 1070Ti Mini Corsair 2x8GB 3000mhz cl16 (can't go higher.. budget) SilentiumPC Fortis 3 v2
