I'm planning on buying new setup in december
I guess for my budget it is the best
GTX 1060 6GB
MSI B360M PRO
Crucial 2x8GB 2400 cl16
psu, hdd, ssd and case from current pc
can I do better for this money which is approx 800$?
so is it better to go for 3GB?
if I buy now I won't change GPU for like 2-3 years because I don't really play high end games
gta v, fifa, f1, csgo
then we will have GTA VI (6GB will do better), maybe RDR2 for pc?
gta V is such an extremely badly ported game that it doesnt even run at 60fps on a SLI GTX Titan, rockstar sucks at pc support, you will need a fucking 5k pc to play any GTA game on pc on highest settings when it comes out and it will take years of patching and hardware improvements to make it playable on anyting less.
my advice is that it doesnt look like you can afford to play gta 6 but if you can live with low fps and stutter and texture popin then you can run it on a 1060 6gb a bit better than on 3gb
but more vram is really not any use if your cpu is already bottlenecking.
getting that 3 extra GB of ram on the 1060 is way less important than having unlocked multiplier on cpu
buy k version i5 first and then spend the rest on gpu. or wait and buy the 1060 6gb in a few months. cpu is more important because it will last a long time if you buy a good one. gpu you replace soon anyway.
also 2400 cl16 isnt great, try 2400 cl12
price difference between 3GB and 6GB is smaller than price difference between i5 8400+stock cooler+that mobo and i5 8600k+aftermarket cooling + Z370 mobo
it's about 200$ more if I would go for 8600k,z370 and decent cooling
8GB is sometimes enough and sometimes not enough
anyway, I decided to go for slitghly better setup because why not
MSI Z370 gaming plus
gigabyte GTX 1060 6gb
gskill ripjaws 2x8gb 3200 cl16
SilentiumPC Fortis 3 v2
still a budget pc but a better budget
