Why not Kaspersky, ESET or other anti-virus? I've heard that this Windows Defender is not that good.
2018-11-08 21:49
as long as you are not completly braindead and go torrent some shit you are fine. Just use ublock to prevent anything and dont click on shady ads/stuff ...
2018-11-08 21:52
Windows Defender is good, never gotten a virus. Just don't click on fishy links, don't download things that you suspect are a virus.
2018-11-08 21:51
thank you very much :)
2018-11-08 21:55
np! Btw, if you just want peace of mind, just download a free AV.

there's no point using avast, windows defender from w10 do the same thing as avast you dumb. You're just fucking your system with more RAM usage I'm minimalist so i don't like to install anything that I don't use.
2018-11-08 22:04

any anti-virus is pretty much useless with all the found exploits in today's hardware and software . just use windows defender and common sense.

No need for anti-vir.. it just takes your money and/or slow down your PC. If you really do something shady, use virtualization.
2018-11-08 22:02
You do not comment if you want a free one or a willing to pay for a license. In some cases a top performing paid software may offer you a fully functional, even though restricted in some features, free version. This comparison should offer you a good hint, av-comparatives.org/comparison/ If system impact worries you, you can check here, av-comparatives.org/tests/performance-te.. Needless to say, as some users already have referred to, is that common sense makes you the last line of defense.

Common Sense 2010 is the best i.imgur.com/xgf6wYL.png On a serious note if you want to play it safe just download something like avg, avast, or avira. According to Jonathon E's links AVG,Avast,Eset, and K7 perform the best when it comes to system impact. If you are into downloading torrents and shady things make sure you upload them to virustotal before opening them to be safe and see if they contain anything bad. You can even go as far as downloading them on a sandbox or virtual machine so you can test them out and if anything happens they wont affect your main system. As for browser extensions Id recommend ublock origin to remove all adds and https everywhere
2018-11-09 05:37
ESET best, if u poor just renew every month trial.

Seem legit judging by his feedback. Just like cheap game codes on resell sites Id assume they were purchased with stolen credit cards in bulk

Windows defender is a massive memory hog and turns up way too many false positives, but it'll give you just as good protection as any 3rd party AV if you don't mind the performance hit. Look up some reviews etc. Avast is a great comparison. What you pay for nowadays is performance more so than protection.
