WARNING : long text , only read TLDR and watch video if you dont have time , but at least read things i tried so u dont repeat it My game since i bought the pc has been freezing for 0.2 - 0.5 second everytime i peek an enemy or get killed by enemy or when i am inspecting a gun even in the main menu..and it seems to happen before hand. (Like im loading the enemy model or something) i tried everything and this only just begun happening but not after any update or changes to my computer. I tried verifying game files/ updated all drivers and even cleaned my computer this morning but i still get the same shitty experience. Worst part is telling teammates that i lag when i die... my pc specs : i7 8700K asrock z370 pro 4 , Upgraded to MSI z370 a Pro now gtx 1080 founders edition game and windows running on SSD Wireless steelseries 800 '' maybe wireless headphones causes stutter? idk '' 16gb corsair rgb ddr4 3000 MHZ '' overclocked in my motherboard , tried to use it without oc too dosent work '' i also tried all these and none worked PLEASE READ before you tell me the same thing i tried again. i tried : reinstalling all drivers/updating them INCULDING sound driver * reinstalling windows * reinstalling steam * verify game cache * reinstall csgo * change config * change resolution * all setings are on low * my fps is 400-600 * uninstall graphics card driver using ddu * put high preformance on power saving * updating windows * use time resolution * disabled game dvr * disabled unneccesary things in windows 10 * OC cpu and gpu and ram * take off wireless heapdhones and use normal ones #things maybe you should know : - i have win 10 LTSB , tried win 7 and win 10 pro but same issue too - i am running pretty much everything in the motherboard on auto even the ram mode , i tried xmp profile 2.0 but its the same so left it as default settings - i have 100MB internet connection with latest drivers and its through cable not wifi - i tried switching rams places in motherboard i also tried ALL commands in console with cl_interp and rate , etc etc etc..nothing useful. #THE ISSUE happens when im peaking an enemy as i stated , it also happens when im inspectating a skin in the main menu especially like the awp or something that covers the monitor pretty much maybe there are other solutions i tried that i've forgot but pretty much i tried everything and none worked. my launch options are only '' -novid '' as other causes more lag according to valve.. thanks in advance. thanks in advance. #VIDEO EXPLAINING youtu.be/r4eKl6-IHBc it dosent only happen in main menu , i am just trying to show you what happens when im peaking somewhere or an enemy , what happens when im inspectating the skins is what happens to me in the menu TLDR: Client VAR jumps when im in the menu and when im spraying/peeking an enemy

That's called thinking ahead. Make a thread and give it some time to get answers because you can be 100% sure it takes several for you find the one that corrects the issue, if you find one at all. What is he supposed to do? Keep staring the screen and keep refreshing?

reinstall everything on your pc save everything on external harddrives that you can't download again, save presets and things alike the cfgs in csgo (crosshair viewmodel settings etc) in text files so you can manually reset them in the games you download, then after you have deleted literally everything off your pc then start reinstalling your shit then first thing you do install csgo and steam on your ssd first then not on it try all configurations with only the essentials for the pc to run then steam + csgo without ANY other non essential programs (keep nvidia settings default and shit ofc and then try not having them default) try if you're lagging only on online servers such as faceit and community servers or if your problem works on offline servers cuz either something in your hardware is broken in case get a new one, something in the software is fucked in which case reinstall EVERYTHING from the beginning, or something else is fucking up csgo, maybe have csgo on ssd and steam on windows or vice versa or both on ssd or both not on ssd also why tf you listening to what valve says according to performance ???? cuz i've got way worse hardware than you in most cases but my game works way better at 150fps maybe you got some network settings fucking you over like a firewall if your problem only happens in games online such as faceit matches

Tried another cpu? Seems like a CPU issue. EDIT nvm. I saw #10 now.
2018-11-15 16:56
Go to properties of csgo.exe and select run as administator. Type these comments into properties of csgo in steam: -threads 12 +mat_queue_mode 2 and -high
2018-11-13 00:46
You can also try "disable fullscreen optimization" at properties of the csgo exe

Hmm.. Have you tried using another cpu? Myb you should tweak some cpu settings if you dont want to try using another cpu just to see if there's any changes.. I've had similar issues but with another game, who knows..

my fps dips to like half or lower every time i die but it doesnt matter when youre dead
2018-11-14 16:53
Try this: Install the game in another ssd/hard drive. If you dont have another try to borrow from a friend or smthn. Worth a try... Let me know if it works or not.

Yo that actually might be the problem, you read and write speeds should be in the megabytes (mb/s), not on kilobytes (kb/s) so I strongly advise you now to try to install it in any other drive if you havent yet. Good luck! ps: If it was the problem do i actually get that money you said on #6 or nah?
2018-11-16 19:54
try to use max fps 300 in-game and 100-120 in menu fps, should help. and google some commands that i dont remember now to run togheter with your csgo
2018-11-13 01:08
#8 already said the same commands: -threads 12 +mat_queue_mode 2 and -high
2018-11-13 01:09
try to limit your fps to 200 or try enabling vsync and see if that makes the problem disappear.

nope
2018-11-13 13:55
Do it, try to turn on V-sync and if the problem disapears then try to lock your fps to 61(with v-sync turned off) and if both work then it's maybe a overheating or CPU shit, also try to unlock your cores and try to turn your cpu power to 99%.
2018-11-14 15:59
Simple Solution: Z370 Mainboards have Overheating VRM Issues, especially with the cheaper ones and i7 8700k. Your Mobo most likely will throttle your CPU because of heating issues. Solution: 1.) Disable Intel SpeedStep/C-States/TurboBoost in Bios 2.) Dont Overclock i7 8700k with Z370 Mobos Cheaper than 160€ 3.) Upgrade to Z390 because they have far superior VRMs and better Heatsinks because they have to run 8 Core CPUs. Z370 was total ripoff from the Mobo Vendors, i think they didnt had enough time because Intel had to push the Intel 6 Core fast because of the success of the AMD Ryzen CPUs 4.) If the Bios Settings not help, download latencymon and let it run while you Play cs.

Dont go for it until you try every possible solution. Try to install older Nvidia drivers. 385 for example. Sometimes new drivers cause stuttering and other lags. Installing Nvidia 385.69 just fixed the lags that i had a couple of months ago.

2018-11-14 16:57
i just read here that it only happens in cs so i typed most of that pm for nothing haha if its really only in cs, its just windows and directx and source engine being dicks. you can try different driver versions. i recommend starting with the release driver for your gpu, it should already support old games like cs.

2018-11-14 17:14
did you use cl_forcepreload 1 as someone mentioned above? that eliminates issues with loading textures from drive which can cause the game to hang. do you only have an ssd in the system or also a harddrive. if you have harddrive try disconnecting it, then windows cannot fuck up and hang on hdd access idk i feel like im randomly throwing things out but im trying to get a picture of what you have tried and what is left to try

tried it , didnt try linux tho
2018-11-14 17:15
its always handy to have a ubuntu or other distro live usb in case your windows install gets fucked or corrupted so you can at least do basic things on your pc, you can keep a small partition on a harddrive that you dont boot from for an install if you need to fix your pc often, with troubleshooting utilities installed on it. then you can toggle which drive to boot from in bios. do disconnect the drive with your windows install on it when you install another OS on a second drive, windows doesnt like competition, it might get jealous and refuse to boot.
2018-11-14 17:18
getting cs to run well on linux could be an issue with your relatively new gpu. on the other hand it is an old dx9 game so you could also try wine.
2018-11-14 17:21
have you tried putting -legacyscaleformui in launch options to eliminate issues with panorama? or did valve remove that now. edit: i looked it up and its removed. rip.

It's gotta be a hardware problem then
2018-11-14 03:31
can still be windows or driver issue, or in the game engine itself, interaction with directx api, directx, etc etc. windows is complicated especially if there are only issues in cs and not in other games it should be a software issue right.

only in csgo , its not the internet VAR , there are 2 types of VAR , the one down is for the internet and the one upthere is for the hardware
2018-11-14 12:52
Just do these things. Exchanging hardware is fastest way to find out without wasting time. Also if nothing changes while doing so you know it's software related.

2018-11-14 14:04
"VAR" is just varience in frame draw times, it jumps up because normally it'd take your pc 2ms to draw a frame at 500fps, whereas at 100fps it's a 10ms draw time so VAR shows 8ms. Considering how the drops are caused, it's likely from a bottleneck of the texture data being sent to the gpu vram, which could be anything from your ram, ssd, cpu (sending the request of the texture) or maybe a hardware bug within your motherboard.

Only hardware part you should consider is wifi router, network card etc. I can be more sure in this way, I guess this not happen to you if u play against offline bots ? Can you play dust2 offline with bots, buy awp and peek long and tell if it lagged or not. I know since this is offline bots, you will have to try few rounds to catch a bot in long.

try another power cable and another power plug. maybe this could a faulty SATA cable? install csgo on HDD and see if problem remains. Also make sure that google chrome isn't running on background, it eats a lot of memory

Okay i have some ideas, but here are few questions to clarify: - What SSD do you have? - Did you try playing offline with bots? Does it happen when you play offline against bots? - Have you ever tried installing your game on another drive? - If you didn't, then did you check your SSD with your software? Important, you need to use software of the developer of your SSD!(for example for Kingston SSD it would be KIngston SSD Manager) and it's not about health as you've mentioned before. There might be damaged sectors(errors) and it can even show your health is 100%(especially if you don't use your recommended software) but the problem can still be there. Installing the game on another SSD/HDD would be a solution #1. However, if it doesn't help then i suppose you have an internet problem, which explains why you get freezes when models of other players appear. Basically your internet connection processes information that's sent from a sever, this kind of information(all the objects, textures) are then being processed by your CPU/GPU. When you inspect something you also happen to load this information, as well as when you play and interact with other players, it quickly increases the amount of information to process. Of course neither CPU nor GPU is the problem in this case, it's not CPU fault that internet fcks up delivering information to CPU, which causes freeze. The internet is highly unlikely to be the case, since you probably use net_graph 1 and there are no loss pockets(even though latency spikes can still be there!), i suggest you to run this speedtest dslreports.com/speedtest (do not switch a browser's tab until the test is finished), look at bufferbloat section, if you get bad bufferbloat results then you might try contacting your internet-provider to check wtf is wrong with your European routes. It might be a solution #2. Also some other suggestions, just in case you've not tried them yet: - Switch your PC Power Plan to “High Performance” - add -useallavailablecores to launch options(it's been enabled by default for a year but still worth trying) - Go to Nvidia Control Panel > Configure Surround, PhysX and select your videocard as processor if it doesn't help then select your CPU(if it doesn't help too then leave it at Auto-select) - Go to Task Manager > Details and set high priority for your csgo.exe I still think it's a SSD problem since the problems you describe can happen when there are damaged sectors, but well who knows.
2018-11-14 16:22
also you can: - Press Windows key + R(or just type CMD in search) and type steam://flushconfig then restart your PC and launch CSGO as admin. - Type these commands into a console: snd_mix_async "1" and snd_mixahead "0.02" (or 0.01)

-SSD samsung 860 500GB -yes , yes - i tried on an external drive that has no windows -i checked my ssd and it says health 100% - its not the internet proble, check comment 71# - its on ultimate preformance mode , tried high preformance too and nothing - i tried useavailble cores ,phyxs and task manager thing and also tried all these cmd and snd sound things , will try to buy new ssd/hdd today and update you , thx !
2018-11-14 16:38
Well it could still be internet problem even if hardware VAR pops up. Because bufferbloat causes a problem for you CPU to process information that's why hardware VAR might drop as your CPU fails because of internet bufferbloat. Even though you played with bots and it's not the case :C I'd still run dslreports.com/speedtest just to make sure your internet bufferbloat is ok. If bufferbloat is terrible then you can try playing with bots again, but this time disable your internet connection just to make sure. It seems like your SSD though, the sound problem was also smh i'd consider. Since you've tried a lot, i suggest you fixing your realtek driver, as it might be general windows problem, here is how: neosmart.net/wiki/fix-realtek-audio-dela.. And are you sure you have all the drivers updated? If you go to device manager are there any "failed" components? Also do you use X-Boost by MSI software? Your motherboard supports it so you might want to turn it off or actually install it if you never did.

Try running AIDA64 system stability test to see if you get any throttling (and so that temps are OK). And are you running any other 'unnecersarry' software? Caching, boosting or similar? Your PC should easily handle CSGO without any stuttering whatsoever given the hardware, and after reading this thread don't know what else could be causing the problems. Maybe PSU, but that's one big maybe (and probably unlikely). If you have only a fresh install of Windows, drivers for GPU and Steam installed, it should be all you need to test. Nothing more is needed, and if your PC stutters even then, well then honestly don't know what it could be.

First i would do is to download dependency walker to see that the game files/dlls are correct. Fix is unlikely but no one has suggested this. Second thing that i would do is to lower Vcore and check temperatures. I have 7 year old 2500k so i have experience from OC and I have to be very careful with its overclock. I don't know the coffee lake processors so well but my games start to spike if the voltage is too high Gl

it might so be this 100%.. coz i feel it but i wasnt sure if the voltage is too high if it spikes games or not , i pretty much have everything on auto so it gives higher voltages for sure.. .any idea what is a good voltage for 8700K?
2018-11-14 17:41
From BIOS: First you should take cpu turbo off if coffee lake has one. Then put stock clock speed something like 3.7ghz i think. then put voltage arround 1.250V if it works you can start to set clock speed and voltages higher. Only if you want or your cpu starts bottlenecking but that's very unlikelly. I usually put everything to their normal status bcs auto modes are erratic. By normal modes i mean clocked voltage and clock speed. With turbo the voltage consumes what it want's and every processor can't take same as others. hf
2018-11-14 17:54
I want to join here. Did you overclocked due this problem? Or do you had already the system overclocked and THEN you realized something is wrong?

no , i have everything on auto but the electricity in my house is a bit shitty so that might be it too BUT.. the PSU is supposed to be fixing this automatically i guess..

I suggest you to download hwmonitor. Run it while you inspect the gun then if you have other screen put hwmonitor on it. If you don't own a second screen just use the monitor in background. It shows the highs and lows and look only highs. If your temperatures look normal on highs. Safe cpu should be like >70c and gpu with >80c it will also show you the clock speeds and power so if some core or cable isnt working properly you will see it.

Do you have a friend with a reasonable spec computer? If so, could you install steam/CS:GO and see if the problem follows you? If it does, it's a config issue. If it doesn't, try your computer on their network. If it works, the problem is your network, if it doesn't, at least you know that your config and network are okay.

definitely hardware issue it seems like i had a similar problem back in 1.6, back then it was caused by a cable that wasn't plugged into my PSU correctly. could be a lot of things, my best guess would be your hdd/ssd or perhaps even PSU, could be literally any faulty component which makes it rather annoying.

You shouldve showed the freeze when you get killed cuz that's no Freeze for me. For exemple I had a problem with freeze in the past where my screen would be stuck on one image for like 3s with a "soundloop" (for exemple if freeze while reloading, it would repeat that reload sound until the freeze is over). I fixed the issue by changing the hardware Edit: i meant hard drive

Read about micro lag stuttering in Windows (here Windows 10) Here is an article about possible fixes: drivethelife.com/windows-games/micro-stu.. More over read the page on this forum. There is a Windows tool where you can adjust the clock sync / timer in Windows which might be causing this issue. forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1004600.. I hope this helps. Good luck.

It could be your psu not supplying enough or some blown capacitor

So I don't know shit about hardware and stuff, but let's think about this logically, which is not my strongest suit either but let's give it a try: So your problem occurs whenever you are inspecting your weapon, more so when inspecting a bigger weapon or getting into a gunfight/spraying. It also happens whenever you are in the mainmenu. a freeze or a stutter happens because of several reasons. In this case, it happens because there is something loading that causes the freeze/stutter. What you are describing is a microstutter, which is a smaller freeze or stutter caused by some parts in the loading process is slightly slower than the rest of the components in the loading process. A microstutter is usually a cpu problem. What I would do is to try to failsearch the cores one by one. first thing to check: is any core working a lot more than the other ones? you have 6 cores so if core 0/6 is the one doing most of the work I would suggest to disable core 0/6 for csgo and only set the affinity for csgo to the other five cores. in this case, set the number of threads used to 10 (-threads 10) good luck! // n3uro

2018-11-17 03:54
did you use the same cable? also try another PSU if possible
2018-11-17 18:30
Check if that happens if you take out GPU and run on integrated graphics. That'd be one big element as potential cause either crossed off from list or exposed.

Have you tried disabling your audio card in device manager and playing the game? Faulty drivers could be the issue here. I used to have this problem in early csgo days where I would get micro stutters and my ping would spike out of nowhere. After searching for days I found that the audio driver was the problem. Since then I upgraded my pc so I don't get them anymore.

UPDATE: i went to my friend´s house and we kept literally trying everything piece by piece even the cooler , the only thing that made him got the same problem as mine was activating the xmp profile in motherboard which is what is causing the problem.. i think i will have to run my ram at 2133 @mhz instead of 3000 mhz in order for the problem to stop , will confirm once i try it if it works.

Ok do you have headphones with build in audio drivers and do you have a wireless adapter in your pc for Wi-Fi?
2018-11-30 09:23
If yes to both or 1 disable you're wireless adapter in device manager , and disable realtek audio or any other audio devices in device/ sound manger apart from your headphones. Restart your computer make sure they are all disabled when you reboot still. If this doesn't fix the stutter have you overclockers your pc? If so try bringing down the overclock on the ram a bit first then the gpu and see if that works.

the MSI support told me to add voltage to it , i tried from 3000mhz to 2133 everytime i go lower , it gets WAY worse , so i kept it at the best settings for now which is xmp disabled profile 1 manually @ 3000mhz now idk what voltage should i be adding for it hmm

Seems like everyone has their own way of fixing this issue. Try getting a new steamacc with csgo. That was the only thing working for me. Tried everything else.
