Deserved or undeserved? Curious to hear what you guys have to say. Most (incl. me) seem to be leaning towards the second camp.

2018-11-15 17:26

For sure not, dupreeh deserved it more, robbed, like on major...
2018-11-15 17:24
“Even though the ratings made dupreeh look better in the Major playoffs, he wasn't, they were neck and neck if you go through it map by map and round by round. There were only a few maps where dupreeh had a slightly better rating (along with both standing out a lot on one map each against FaZe), which is also a result of some anti-eco rounds dupreeh had. So dupreeh didn't make up the difference from the group stage, device stayed ahead of him the whole time. Furthermore, looking at the rounds and map wins that actually brought Astralis the title, device beats dupreeh quite handily there. It wasn't even as close a race as people make it out to be. In Chicago they are pretty much the same in round and map wins, but here device did make up for dupreeh's advantage from the group stage, especially because dupreeh had a few poor maps that Astralis won (Inferno vs. fnatic & Nuke vs. mousesports), which people never really consider, but that certainly detracts from a players "value" to the team, if they win when he's actually playing badly. device stayed consistent and contributed positively in literally every map Astralis won in Chicago. Same as Xyp9x actually, which is why I think if anyone wants to make a case against device here, Xyp9x is the one you should be making a case for, not dupreeh. But it went to device because of his overall consistency and more impact in the rounds and maps Astralis won compared to Xyp9x. I know people like to look for inconsistencies or come up with conspiracy theories, but there's actually a complex system behind how we select the MVPs, which Striker explained in an episode of HLTV Confirmed.” 2018-11-12 02:36 Straight from the owner

dupreeh 44 opening frags and 31 opening deaths - Team win percent after first kill 81.8% device 37 opening frags 33 deaths - Team win percent after first kill 67.6% 1.15 rating both and consistent they could easily give it to dupreeh don't you think?
2018-11-15 17:42
so he was better in entry frags but mvp isnt about the best entry fragger you know...? btw: "Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, who enjoyed a strong start to the tournament but had Astralis' worst playoff rating" and "device, who averaged a 1.15 rating in Chicago, featured in the stats leaderboards in three categories, KDD (+41), total kills (248) and total AWP frags (103)." dev1ce was better that event if you like it or not

hltv.org/stats/players?event=3954 Does this explain my opinion?
2018-11-15 17:26
so who should get it in your opinion? twistzz who literally shitted the bed in final with 0.88 rating? or s1mple with 3 maps? mvp just has to be from finalist and dev1ce was overall the best. no idea why are people so retarded and why they hate dev1ce so much lmao...

because he is just camping behind his teammates with awp, taking 0 risk holding angles for years and then his fanboys considering him to be top1 god dammit there was just jokes with s1mple MVP cuz first in stats but yeah 3 maps and bad tournament from him
2018-11-15 17:44
"because he is just camping behind his teammates with awp, taking 0 risk holding angles for years" jesus christ, one of the most retarded thing which i have ever seen. who cares about flashy plays here and there? only deluded fanboys like you. dev1ce is consistently topfragging in astralis and he plays his role perfectly. he is patient, he doesnt do mistakes, he doesnt do pointless peaks that can cost his team rounds and economic damage. its actually his huge advantage that he is disciplined and patient. btw you were talking about entry frags in post 21 and how its so important stat so here you go: hltv.org/stats/players/openingkills?star.. im not even his fan, im fan of guardian. but im sick of blind deluded haters like you LMAO

If you think your rating in the final should count so much, why not give the mvp to magisk?
2018-11-15 17:44
because its mvp of the tournament and not the best player in final...? twistzz wasnt THAT much better overall that event and was horrible in final and he LOST... it isnt that hard to figure it out
