Germany back_from_10_years_ban
Hey, I am mainly listening to german rap, with deep textes like spirituality, psychology, depression, society critism etc, but I feel like I listened to everything there is in german rap, so I wanted to ask, if people can recommend me some american rappers with very good lyrics mainly from the underground. Thanks!

What do you mean by "from the soul"?
2018-11-15 22:47
something very personal, feeling and thoughts brought perfect to word. nothing common or average shit
2018-11-15 22:48
Logic does write those types of lyrics, however he does repeat and recycle a lot, in at least 70% of the songs he has a line about struggling when he was young.
2018-11-15 22:50
yea that might be the case, but I guess we have a different understanding of 'deep lyrics'
2018-11-15 22:52
i guess. You should check out G eazy aswell

youtube.com/watch?v=65OJPOlpXAY youtube.com/watch?v=ovmuLx0MF3E TomPepe/Knowmads is really good lyrically, talks about everything from global warming to personal issues. youtube.com/watch?v=WkRQduFN4qA shahmen is pretty good aswell, especially lyrically. Dig in to those if you want some 'deep' rap. I could name a few more
2018-11-15 21:37
could you name me some more, dont really like the first two so far, but I still apreciate it :)
2018-11-15 21:51
Sure mate, I can dig around a bit more; youtube.com/watch?v=u1QF-LWNUdY Nothing.Nowhere has a lot of slow songs, but this one, and Skully are actually really decent. youtube.com/watch?v=PKF7rLCesQE Jake Hill has a really good voice and flow, but you've got to like metal at least a bit to appreciate his work. BONES has some solid tunes aswell, Pretty depressing, but really good beats and lyricism: youtube.com/watch?v=xx-7-oPTACE
2018-11-15 22:16
Thanks man, will dig them a bit! I actually used to listen to a lot a metal back in the days haha

The joke is moonman is a character from a McDonald's commercial but people make reallly racist text-speech lyrics and put that over a video of him dancing. Most of his videos got removed from YouTube but you can still find stuff occasionally.
2018-11-16 01:21

2018-11-15 22:19
Lil Wayne
2018-11-15 21:38
Best rap writters? easy Tupac, Biggie, Ice Cube & Eminem
2018-11-15 21:38
Eminem yes, the rest is kinda overrated imo (no offense, they are all really good, but the feedback the get is too much)
2018-11-15 21:41
Kinda overrated? I’m sorry but do you know what they did in 1990s? Whole usa were under fight because they gave ppl power. You should watch atleast “Straight outta compton”, there is best explanation what nwa did in usa. Tupac and biggie are gods, if you learn their history and USA in that time you will understand their lyrics
2018-11-15 21:44
First , he meant their lyrics arent that good . They were meaningful sometimes but the flow and some of the verses were wack or decent. And gangsta rap is dope but not meaningful or lyrical because it says the truth. Second , that can go with Eminem too , being a white in a blacks neigborhood or being broke , homeless , drug addicted etc. And please , before responding let the "they were best at '90" just because they are older and you grew up with them. Think about it , maybe our sons will tell Lil Pump was the best rapper just because he grew with him and liked him.
2018-11-15 22:11
If ppl start saying in 2040 that lil pump is the best rapper ever okay. If greatest hollywood productio houses make movies about him, great, i will consider him as one of the best ever. I didnt grow up with that, i like rock music. I know a lot about rap, and for reason they are for everyone best ever. And flow, really? No one have better flow then Biggie, and i dont even like him, but thats true mate And sorry, i forget JayZ, lyric god
2018-11-15 23:58
dunno ami rappers but did you check out Cr7z, Morlock Dilemma and Absztrakkt?
2018-11-15 21:40
silv-r, inspiration (endeffekt ep's 1-3) etc.
2018-11-15 21:41
These were the rappers I was talking about haha, especially Cr7z, I know every song from him and listening to him since 5 years straight. Others: Amewu, Einsigartig (too underrated, you should check him out), Donato, Jintaninho, Prezident etc
2018-11-15 21:44
These were the rappers I was talking about haha, especially Cr7z, I know every song from him and listening to him since 5 years straight. Others: Amewu, Einsigartig (too underrated, you should check him out), Donato, Jintaninho, Prezident etc
2018-11-15 21:44
This Prezident boy is a nazi imo .....
2018-11-15 21:46
why do you think so? What did you listen to?
2018-11-15 21:47
ye I know this song, but I don't see anything that is able to be called 'Nazi' I understand, that the newest stuff is controversial, but imo he is kinda right actually youtube.com/watch?v=94bzaEdZqMI
2018-11-15 21:52
Amewu is a cool guy. A friend from my FSJ group brought him one day to our trip and he was freestyling a bit. He is pretty good. And yeah Cr7z has sick lyrics and there are times when i listen to him very often.
2018-11-15 21:48
damn, sounds sick what do you know from Cr7z? because I dont really like the newest stuff he is delivering, its nothing to his old stuff like the song '33°' for example
2018-11-15 21:50
I liked Sieben Weltmeere the most. Especially ''bis auf den Grund des Ozeans'' und ''Über Wasser laufen'' but i heard some songs from an7ma, seraph7m and Ult7ma aswell.
2018-11-15 21:54
nothing from 'Zurück zum Kind', 'S7nus', Pein' and the other free tracks? He got around 400 tracks, which are all not on spotify, these are the songs I like from cr7z the most
2018-11-15 21:56
Nope, it's not the type of music i can hear on a daily basis so i don't know too much about the stuff he dropps. I'm more into that gangster Rap ^^. If i notice by chance that he dropped an album I give it a shot and when i like it, I hear it sometimes. But that happens very rarely.
2018-11-15 21:59

What the hell, first one is straight forward Eminem.
2018-11-15 21:44
what do you mean?
2018-11-15 21:44
It's heavily inspired by Eminem i'm pretty sure.
2018-11-15 21:45
how you back that up?
2018-11-15 21:46
Because i get Eminem vibes from it, i'm sure many people would agree with me and tone sounds like eminem as well.
2018-11-15 21:47
well, the lyrics are nothing that is close to eminem + being inspired by on the best rappers in the world is nothing bad. Many top tier american rappers dont even deny, that they learned a lot from him and got inspired, but tbh, I still see no relation between this song and anyhting Eminem ever did
2018-11-15 21:48
I'm not saying that it is bad to be inspired by Eminem, i'm just stating my opinion that he is inspired by Eminem, and i guess first song that comes to my mind that is close to this song is Stan, i mean of course vocals no way sound like each other but you can just tell there is Eminems hands at it.
2018-11-15 21:51
well, guess we got different opinions there, but thats nothing bad. Any recommendations you got for good rappers?
2018-11-15 21:53
Yup, i guess it's okay. i personally don't really listen to a lot of rap this days, i prefer when my ears are filled with a lots of instrumental music, heavy or not, i like progressive rock/metal and metal in general, so yeah.
2018-11-15 21:57
listen to 'It Prevails', one of the best melodic hardcore bands ever out there imo, very nice lyrics I used to listen to metal a lot back in the days like Architects, In Hearts Wake, August Burns Red, Being as an Ocean, ...
2018-11-15 21:59
I'm not necessary fan of Nu metal or modern metal in general, i like couple of bands but i'm more into older 70s stuff. If i like modern band, they are mostly progressive bands.
2018-11-15 22:01
oh aight, sounds nice :)
2018-11-15 22:01
I'll check them out anyways. Have a nice day,

Outkast (Andre 3000 and BigBoi) bro, the 90's have the best rappers. Nas, whole Wu-Tang, DOOM, Q-Tip.... In Brazil there are several, start with Racionais and Black Alien. From the new generation Kendrick rules.

I mean this isnt underground and you probably have heard it but it's really influential youtube.com/watch?v=hRVOOwFNp5U
2018-11-15 22:04
in terms of current lyrical rappers you might wanna go with joyner lucas, royce da 5'9'', logic, ab-soul, kendrick, Tyler the creator, a bit of J cole and big sean, etc The OGs of lyrical rapping would be the likes of Jay-Z, Nas, Everyone from the Wu-Tang Clan (especially GZA), Biggie, Andre 3k, MF DOOM, Rakim, kurupt, Eminem to some extent, etc
2018-11-15 22:02
I guess NAS is the only one from that list, I would really dig into. But I heard a lot of good things about Wu-Tang, gonna give a try. thanks for your recommendations! :)
2018-11-15 22:04
Fair enough, but allow me to just say: I generally separate american lyrical rapping in two different categories: The west coast with the energetic rapping, social messages and delivery (2pac, Ice Cube, NWA etc) And the east coast with highly technical rhyme schemes, flow and double/triple entendres with references, etc (obviously its not that simple). As you can probably tell with the rappers I mentioned, I'm a huge fan of the technical part of the rapping since I think it's where most of the intellect of rapping lies. Some of my favorite examples of great use of double entendres: genius.com/1834 genius.com/Eminem-313-lyrics Just some info that might help you if you wanna look some more stuff up about rap. If I go back to german classes I might hit you up on some good german rappers bro, have fun

You should listen to 5 best Emine's album Infinite Slim Shady EP Slim Shady LP MMLP and The Eminem Show Check out older stuff. Beside lyrics a good beat can do magic . NWA and especially Ice Cube were dope. Snoop Dogg was decent with Dre. Tupac and Biggie for street rap Cannibus is a very lyrical rapper with a fantastic flow and he was uderrated ( he made songs in early 2000) Today there are not that good rappers , but Kendrick does a decent job. Logic is overrated so you better dont waste your time with him
2018-11-15 22:18
Eminem is one of the few american rappers I like and know, thanks tho!

bro, thanks a lot, I love it already :) why you have to act funny, when you actually have something serious and good to show? :/
2018-11-15 22:34
thanks, I really didn't have songs for you but I felt I need to find at least one. So I just googled "philosophical rap songs" and found this thread on forum genius.com/discussions/75925-Philosophic..

Next time I’ll make sure to have a list without the most lyrically gifted rappers in the world my bad
2018-11-17 02:45
sorry, but naming the most famous rappers in the US is nothing special, especially when I name the things I am looking for and that I mainly look for underground music. I still apreciate your help, didnt meant to be so toxic!
2018-11-17 02:55
I didn’t even see the mainly underground part that’s completely my fault lmao
2018-11-17 08:50
