You're talking to an idiot with the perspective of only one game. CSS was CONSTANTLY in the shadow of 1.6 except for a brief moment in time (2007-2008 in NA specifically). In quite literally all other aspects, CSS was lower. Server count, lower. Player count, lower. Custom files (sound/maps/models) on major modding sites, lower. Prize pools, lower. CSS was a game trying to compete with a game made a decade before it. Naturally you're going to find children who had no concept of 1.6. Literal entire TC-mods were developed after being inspired by the original CS. CSS' custom scene are just gmod modes in a different game.
The only thing that CSS was better at was being a noob-friendly game.
