What headset do you have, and are you happy with it? I have Razer Tiamat 7.1, had it for maybe 5 years, want a new one. Got any tips?

starseries artis pro compatible with everything and it's good, hyperx cloud is overrated at this point
2018-11-21 00:00
Im considering Arctis Pro, do you hear footsteps easy? And do you have Wireless or wired?
2018-11-21 01:22
lmao mb, *steelseries* i have the arctis 7 since it's wireless and im a wireless type of guy. Sound is crisp and stereo, mic is good to use and sound proofs from outside noises. Price is decent enough for arctis, i recommend either one since they're both great, just up to you if you like wireless

audio technica m20x it's alright, kinda too clampy compared to my previous ones, also the cable is 3m long, 2m was just right, this is way too long

Nice for gaming in a studio lol

Hyper X Cloud I, Pros: +Super sturdy and quite comfy. +Sound quality is pretty nice (when compared to a Hi-Fi headset I don't hear a huge difference). +Can be found at a fairly low price (~60€ IIRC) Cons: -no rotating parts at all so transportation sucks and you can't put it around your neck -mic quality is not good enough for this price although still usable. -no sound board, it's just a dual jack which means you can't tweak the sound much if your motherboard doesn't allow it. I recommend but maybe take a look at the Cloud II if you have a little bit more budget.

That sound board part is wrong. EQ and virtual surround software can be used with any motherboard or sound device. For example, equalizer APO is better than the realtek one or some that came with a hyperx usb dac/amp for sure. As for virtual surround, it's also done on software and there are solutions that work with any headphones, like razer surround, which is free to download for any pc. But it's a gimmick anyway, stereo will also give you positional audio. The usb dac/amps that are included with gaming headsets are crap worth max 10€ and good motherboard onboard sound will probably be better. Good seperately sold (hifi) dac/amps cost hundreds of euros.

Logitech G430, I've had 2 break in the past 3 years but I've just used the warranty. It's pretty much just free headsets forever.

Sennheiser GSP 350, upgraded from trashy Cloud 2s, words cant describe how satisfied I am, build quality, comfort, sound, mic, all on another level compared to clouds.

SteelSeries Siberia V3. Bought it 1.5 years ago at half price, never had any issues with it. Sound and mic quality is good, and it's comfortable throughout many hours.

Dont believe anyone that claims, that HyperX or Clouds are good for their price. There are alot better ones for same/similar price. They are just fanboys that bought what they saw on stream etc. With those you ALWAYS pay for all the advertisement etc they do. Depending on what country you are from and how much the shipping costs would be for you, I recommend looking up the "Massdrop x Sennheiser PC37X". They are on par with alot more expensive models by Sennheiser and you can unfortunately ONLY buy them at massdrop (and you have to make an account there to actually see and buiy them). But they only cost 120$ and you wont find any headset with the same quality for that price, promised. Look up ANY review or comparison including this headset and you will see :) If you dont want to buy those go for Beyerdynamics or other Sennheiser of your choice.
2018-11-21 02:08
Quick addition: I just saw amazon (at least in germany) has the Logitech G430 reduced at the moment. Normally I wouldnt recommend that headset for tis normal price, but with this price its actually worth it.

Cloud alpha or cloud 2

I have: - Beyerdynamic DT880 + modmic 3 - sennheiser game one - hyperx cloud flight My favorite seems to constantly change, but right now it’s the game one. I like the sound quality and mic quality of the DT880/modmic combo, but managing two separate cables is a pain and the mic detached easily from the headphones with the slightest tug on the cable. I like the sound quality of the cloud flight with some third party equalization (too scooped sounding without it) and LOVE being wireless, but they are heavy (due to being wireless) and I hate having to charge it every few days. And I’ve had them die during some matches which really sucks. I also don’t like gaming with closed back headphones I like the game one because it’s open back, has great sound quality and mic quality, is lightweight, and only has one cable to manage. Only complaint is clamping force is a bit tight.
