i want to express my opinion on why i think having a in game leader who is just known for his strategic superiority is totally useless in todays csgo.
One of the reason is how the game evolved.
Just like in basketball, in the 90's teams where more focused on strats and bruising threw contact. In todays basketball we see basically shooting at will. We can input the same thing to csgo.
CSGO teams are focusing on players that have raw skill. If you look at Astralis(who are the best team in thye world atm) their "In game leader" Gla1ve is averaging a 1.11 rating, and i think having a full team of raw skill is the reason why they are at the top. I added the " to In game leader, because he actually doesnt call anything usually, everything they do are discussed before the game or in time outs.
For example Zeus, whos known to be probably the best in game leader of all time is averaging a 0.94 rating, and you could say that he doesnt need to frag, because he has s1mple and electronic and even flamie backing them. Reality is that even tho their team has everything that they need, they still manage to lose against teams like Astralis. Liquid, sometimes even mzsports. Why? Because everyplayer on these teams can get kills, and make clutches.
I think every player on their team can call, make some adjustments, because theres not a lot of things to actually call. The strats are basically the same, a map usually has 3-5 teamstrats.
Overall, i meant to say is that teams should be focusing more on players that have skill. The main point of csgo getting kills, thats the only think people look at. The balance of csgo has changed, and Astralis has proved that by being the top team.

Faze has so much more skill than Astralis,but they are nowhere near top1,meanwhile they should be according to you

I think FaZe has some outside and communication problems that are not really criticised as they should be, The team is overall inconsistent. The thing with Astralis is, that i think they really analyse every team before they play them. Thats their key to winning games. I dont know if you see this, but basically everytime they are down and they call a timeout, its not usually gla1ve telling what to do, is their coach. Their timeouts are really crucial because almost every time they instantly comeback.

It not just strats but how the players are working together and executing those strats, it's all about team chemistry.
its not about igl role is useless...its about some players in this role arent so skilled as they should be...also its about team chemistry, good teamplay and putting the igl in position which he can play well...even zeus can be useful

Astralis players don't have raw skill, everyone of the looks like that because they fit their roles perfectly and have perfect team play, but in other teams they wouldn't have that good stats, maybe device, he has ggod stats in fpl as well, but they wouldn't be top 10 players in different teams

If you think saying rush B, rush A or something like that is calling I have bad news for you. As a igl player I can't understand why you posted bullshit arguments. Zeus won a major with gambit (which they didn't have the best firepower) for example and you see many examples in this days why a igl is important in a 5v5 team based game.
Most of the time IGL's start to care about the teammates and the game instead of the frags, which is normal. When he believes the team starts to play in the way he wants he will start to frag more, hybrid igls like g1ave exists.
gambit's major win was a fluke though
Gla1ve is a damn good igl, calls the right rotations, handles economy well, has set up a good system with the right roles alongside zonic and has discovered a way of dominating a map like no one ever has before, You absolutely need a good igl to be on top, gla1ve being able to frag fantastically is a reason why they are on top yes but he was braindead and you only had zonic astralis would be WAY more shaky
