The only reason people watched it on twitch in the first place was for gambling
not anytime soon for sure
The real problem with new cs:go are accounts and skins. Valve would need to find a way to port everything to the new game (mostly valuable skins), cause many people would not be happy if they would lost everything. I don't know how hard that is tho.
Also with many updates coming out rn means that valve probably isn't planning a new game

cs 1.3-1.5 1.6 = cs 1
cs:s = cs2
cs:cz = cs3
cs:go = cs 4
you mean cs 5? not anytime soon. its not even the same game when it was in 2013.
they will just update it and thats it.
maybe in like 5-6 years.
even if its not what it was during 2016 its still in a good place. its still alive. solid playerbase compared to 1.6 and the early days of cs go before skins(we were playing with 20k concurrent lol)
big tournaments still in bring in good numbers. it just stopped growing.
it is dead as a streaming game. and thats normal. even lol, dota, pubg are dead as stream games. people dont watchthese games they just watch streamers.
why would be need a new cs? current one is fine, it needs some changes regarding matchmaking, anti cheat, servers ect
But what would a new cs bring? we don't need a new one which will be fine after 1year of update.
What would you want more in the game?
man i feel like Skins are a major reason why they won't develop a totally new game. Its like, worth some millions I suppose. It just needs a new engine but I don't think that's so likely seeing CSGO's small development team.
New CS released and we need to wait more than 3 years before all bugs, exploits and shit will be fixed.
Let's grind away this one first
Valve can't count to 3, everybody knows that
pros aren't getting bored. Do u even watch pro matches? Look at the emotion of the players when winning a crucial round or clutch. Even astralis were getting hyped at EPL Finals. CS:GO is a dead stream game because battle royale has taken over and 7 year olds gag on ninja's c*ck on his stream. So don't expect there to be 1mil viewers on ppl who stream. CS:GO is the most watched game when the majors come around and most T1 events.
there are certainly a lot of people that play that dont watch streams, myself included.
Tbh, people are forgetting TV Licenses, For example in Denmark our big national television has brought the rights to all cs tournaments, so we watch it in the television instead of on steam, making numbers drop there, but increase in reality.
They said it many times.. that they want to focus on CS:GO only, and it shows.. when they release new game modes, f2p.. panorama, economy changes and more.
But.. I feel like a new CS:GO "ERA" for the game will start around 2019, winter of 2019 more better said, and source 2 will be fully ported to the game.. will this be a good adition thats the question..? time will tell.. thats the real thing. Is a risky move, but its a move that the game WILL need by that time. Game is very limited by such outdated engine, and porting it to source 2, not only will give a lot more content, but the game should be more optimized, and it will give it a complete "face wash" (which it might need..).
