YNK AFTER MIBR?
 |
United States ELPRESADOR
In my opinion he should go to FaZe. Since they kicked Karrigan and NiKo is taking over IGL, this seems like the most logical move to me. And I don't mean as a player, but as a Coach/Analyst. Ynk has experience playing with NiKo back when they were on iNation I believe. They have some familiarity with eachother. Since NiKo is IGLing, him and Ynk would be working closer together and it makes it easier for them to work together due to a history of playing together and thus even a somewhat vague understanding of eachother. Even if FaZe decides to get a dedicated IGL, Ynk would be a great addition as a coach. Giving tactics to this brute force team.

If FaZe get another fragger instead of an IGL then they need a good coach that will help NiKo with the calling for sure, also we know that they're good friends so it's possible that YNk will end up coaching FaZe

Can't say no to Janko on FaZe, but it would be nice to have him filling the analyst role at MiBR.

i remember that YNK back in the day talked on a podcast that he thought about coaching faze niko and him have same understanding of the game

I'm not sure if Ynk was the IGL during his time with NiKo on iNation, but if he was, then it is even better since NiKo would be prepared for the level of tactics that he would incorporate. He would turn a roster of just brute skill and mold it into contender.

To be fair, I liked his work as an analyst. I didn't find him boring like nearly everyone else does. However I do think that it would be good if he shared a panel with someone like Thorin or Richard Lewis or someone who likes to throw more banter around to offset the pure analysis that he gives. The dude can alternate segments with SPUNJ which would help mitigate a lot of people's boredom with him.
2018-12-24 03:44
I like him aswell, i enjoyed him the most cuz he was the most serious and professional imo

When you think about it too, how much has Robban really have done for FaZe? I know he's pretty much emotional support, but I don't think he had much impact in terms of any strategy that they have had. Karrigan to me was pretty much the mastermind behind the team. YNK offers so much more, plus he is also capable of that same emotional support. You've seen him do it for MIBR. I don't think he would go back to being an analyst THAT quickly. He dropped the entire gig to become a coach and for him to give up this quickly, and especially after making a noticeable difference in a very lackluster MIBR roster, having them take Astralis to the limit in a short amount of time. The guy is incredible. I have heard rumors that FaZe are targeting s1mple to join. If that is so, then NiKo needs this even more. He needs someone who understands his mind for the game that can offload a lot of the tactical burden and give him input.

I know that's a very very low chance, but would be good, stick with Yanko until the end of the major, and see how things go Also since zews is coaching longer than ynk, and has a very solid work till now, ynk has a nice opportunity to learn a lot from zews.

I'm just not sure if they would let Janko still be a secondary coach/analyst alongside of Zews and I don't know if he wants to be a secondary coach or analyst. I know that he wanted to be a coach, but I don't think he wants to play second fiddle since it won't really be his system being implemented anymore. It would be Zews and Fallen working together. It would be Zews behind the team at events.

That's why I thought it is a very slim hope, but one can dream , I don't know how it could work , you put down very well what even I think will happen , but in an ideal scenario, zews would bring the team more down to earth, give some motivational speeches, and focus more on fitting the pieces on the right places, while ynk would analysis heavy on the opponents and the flow of the meta , then with fallen and zews they would brainstorm some solutions, bring up new plays or strategies (be that on a map or versus a certain opponent) . I know it sounds like a lot of bullshit, but that, what if, maybe, just by a small margin, happen I sure can dream but I'll be very happy if Faze call him up, I think he really deserves, so be it as an ally or a foe, he sure honored and made his mark on a (once) super champ brand =MIBR=

I think we can both agree that the biggest shame would be if NOBODY calls him up and he ends up biding his time again until someone sees what he brings to the table. Although I don't think that would EVER happen. I don't want to see him wasting his time on a tier 2 team, although I think he would go back to analysis for events until he gets another great offer from a Top 10 team.

i don't know his relationship with karrigan , but the only way i can see him taking on a team out of top 10 would be to form a team with Kerrigan, I know he's been on the down and at the end of his career , but he's still a better IGL than most, and if a "100thiefs" that showed once interest (fucking kng ) could be back for an international team, this kind of investment would be very thrilling high chance of failure but , I would be hype to see big money flowing around, and a veteran player that knows how to set up a team a fix its problems, plus a mix of top names and no names and a still undertested but very smart coach
2018-12-24 04:12
Why do people even think he is a good coach? What did he achieve so far? NOTHING.

In literally the span of a month or two, he took MIBR from being an ABSOLUTE joke to having them push Asstralis to the limit in a grand final match. I think ECS. He's definitely made that joke and mess of a roster look better than they did without him. I honestly saw TANGIBLE improvement when he joined.
2018-12-24 03:38
MIBR is still a BIG FUCKING JOKE, YNK did not prove himself.

That's not my point. Yes they still are a joke, but he made improvements to that joke of a team. Like in this case, you can make a joke funnier! Does that make sense?
2018-12-24 03:42
Makes sense but its just not enough for team like Faze. Maybe coach a team for a longer time so we can see his impact.

What :D Both have coached teams for many years now, impossible to compare it to YNK's 2 months

Have to remember though that Ynk has a ton of experience from the analyst desk. He constantly analyzes every team's strategy and breaks it down for the audience. It's a similar job to that of a coach. The part he needs more experience on is creating his own system and then working on who and when to counter strat against certain teams in certain situations.
2018-12-24 22:50
Its like saying Thorin would be a good coach lol

Bad argument. Thorin does not go into the tactical side of team's. The events had made segments for Ynk where he would go to a screen and showcase executes and specific rounds. That is what separates the two. Thorin is good for setting up a storyline or a scenario and can give context to things. But Ynk gives the detailed analysis of actual in game rounds and events.
2018-12-24 23:24
Lets agree to disagree :D Maybe im wrong and he is the best coach in the world but it takes time to see if thats true. Im excited for 2019, lets see how it goes.

For the same exact reason Niko and ynk make sense that you typed out. They used to play together and have a similar understanding of the game. Ynk did good but you're severely overrating him hes not the solution fo every team he just has a good mind for the game.

Yeah you're right. I just think that my problem is Adren is all of the talk about how he didn't gel very well with Liquid when he was actually on the team. He had motivation issues and his own in game level wasn't exactly great. He had butt heads with s1mple too. However, s1mple isn't there any longer and he wouldn't need to keep his in game level at tip top shape. So the only question there is would be his motivation, but I think that it wouldn't be an issue for him if he's coaching.
2018-12-24 03:52
Sounds good to me. Get someone like cromen as 5th and then have ynk as coach to help NiKo with the calling.

Would not Yanko stay as analyst/ secundary coach ? Helping FalleN & Zews with reviews, strats and opponent analysis? Zews coaching at events with motivational acts and game plan pre - prepared by the team?

I said above to someone else I think, but I believe that Ynk wants to be the head coach himself. I feel like he quit his analyst job because he had grinding being an analyst and became the absolute best at it and I think that is what he wants to do with coaching now. I think he wants to prove that he can be the best and most impactful coach in CS history. Surpassing those like Zonic on current Asstralis. I don't see him taking a step back for someone like Zews. I think he wants to be recognized as the one and only.
