RIP Astralis
Russia tonysh3
They show up im most weak year of CS GO Faze with stand-ins for half of the year C9 disband at the start Mibr changing language instead of players Navi with Botward forever(new 5th, navi top1) VP disband French and Sweden scene dead Only Liquid had good roster to compete with Astralis Now compare this to 2015 Fnatic,NIP,C9,Kinguin,Navi,VP, Luminosity,EnVY,TSM Now in 2019 We have Faze without IGL Navi with Botward Liquid without anyone on bitch role MiBR with felps(meh) C9,mouz(international squad sucks) Looks like Astralis still top1 sry
2019-01-10 23:20
2018 wasn't the weakest Astralis was just far ahead the other teams, that's why it makes you think that tier 1 was weak this year. Liquid played pretty well, so did Na'Vi.
2019-01-10 23:22
Liquid could be stronger without anybody instead of taco, so i thing that mu slav braza is right. In 2019 they will not be such motivated (or will be idk) and some teams are stronger now
2019-01-10 23:24
You haven't seen any of the teams that made roster changes playing yet, don't say they're better
2019-01-10 23:27
I just suppose
2019-01-10 23:28
You don't know if other teams are stronger now. This is nothing you are eligible to confirm in any way. We first have to see the results.
2019-01-10 23:28
Actually ye, maybe i said that too early, but i think its obvious that Liquid would be better with stew2k than with taco (will not say "mark my words")

2019-01-11 17:54
+1, 2016 was the weakest imo. Fnatic imploded, NaVi removed their IGL, FaZe didn't have an IGL, C9 still had shroud and Freakazoid, Astralis had no faith in Karrigan, Liquid still had adreN as a player plus tons of internal conflicts with s1mple. Was a pretty awful year for watching CS honestly.

LG vs G2 was the best thing out of that year. Despite all of that the fact that a team with Shox igl ( lol ) + smithzz, rpk and bodyy ( xD all tier 3 players at the time ) managed to reach top 2 s just overwhelming. Just goes to show how good Shox and Scream were
2019-01-11 15:10
+1, gotta agree with that
2019-01-11 20:33
are u on drugs or something 2016 was better than 2018, Liquid had s1mple, Na'vi was good,Astralis, VP,G2.Luminosity were good too, Fnatic was still winning events and even NiP won events. that year was way more competitive than 2018 where before a tournament started we already knew that astralis would win, 2018 was the year where all the old legendary teams went missing, VP disbanded, G2 wentdownhill, FaZe went downhill, MIBR/SK went downhill how can you even say that 2018 was a better year while Astralis had pretty much no competition to test them also the weakest year was by far 2013 where NiP was pretty much the only full time pro team in the scene.
2019-01-11 17:37
but its true 2018 was the weakest Year for CS:GO in Terms of good performing Teams

2017 was cool, SK, Faze, astralis and Vp There will never be a year in which every team gets their shit together and fight for top 1 tournaments. It’s always like this

2017 was aight
2019-01-11 15:04
Astralis created the new meta, team based and mind games, which other teams don't have. They will win even more because all top teams have to start over with new rosters etc.

I know it’s the best csgo we can get, but I’m talking about a spectator point of view. For example: let’s suppose the best soccer is slow passes at midfield until you find a breach and make a goal. It is the “proper way to play soccer”, but no spectator likes it

IMO Astralis the first real professional team. now other teams has to do the same, but better to overcome. Will be exciting to see if teams adapt and if so, how astralis will adapt to that.

2019-01-11 17:04
navi have been the best we have ever seen Liquid the best NA team we have ever seen faze still strong every other team tried to make it to the top by making all these dumb roster changes, but they simply couldn't compete with astralis

they almost beat them at Chicago. G2 and Fnatic are the teams to look out for in 2019 imo. Liquid- will be around the same level. Astralis- has to start spiraling down, its gonna be slow but its surely going to happen, others teams will catch up with the meta and anti strat too much, the players have to start dropping in motivation. FaZe- will do the same as in this year, i dont think they will stick with Adren and they will just win a few odd tournaments like this year, this roster is a failure since it isnt dominating with the level of skill they have, too big egos in team i guess, i dont think they'll find a fitting fifth soon. G2- Got close to beating fnatic at PLG with the new roster, the French scene's comeback is happening in 2019 with G2. The organization finally took over the team and the control, kicked smithzz and ex6 and Ocelote is determined as fuck and now that he has control he'll make them work real hard. Shox got smithzz kicked and has his career on the line, he will make the comeback to the top. G2's rise may not happen with this roster, but the comeback to the top is inevitable now that the players have no control, got their confidence crushed and have to work for that paycheck. My prediction is that bodyy will get the kick and they will bring a co leader to help Shox more so he can freely frag while leading like in 2016. Mouz- Wont be in the top 5, their firepower is limited, i dont know if they are happy with that but they've already achieved much more than what ppl predicted with those players. MiBR- Not sure, i dont think felps is the solution. They will comeback later or sooner though, +yuurih or kscerato. NiP- Will win 1 big tourny. BiG- will get a better sniper instead of Smooya and get into the top 5.

Alright! I don't think G2 is gonna accomplish that very much in the uppcomming year. The PGL final didn't really look that close in my opinion. Though final score tells a different story. You might be correct about BIG and NIP. And you're right, who tf knows about MIBR. Faze is gonna be exciting, at least to me. I can see that going either way, actaully. Take care buddy

It is happening, maybe not with this roster but its gonna happen. Kenny and Shox in the same team if put to work by the org cant not be top 3. G2 is trying to follow the Astralis example, being as profesional and efficient as possible. This will do wonders for the crybaby, egoistic and lazy French scene. Ocelote took over and kicked shox's buttfriends, its a step forward and its gonna pay off

2019-01-11 15:35
I agree and have said it many times myself, its been such a low level of cs recently its not been hard for astralis to win. The second best team in the world is an NA team an an NA team won a major. basically tells you all you need to know about csgo in 2018
2019-01-11 15:45
damn, youre fucking braindead

awh whats up baby girl, you cant take someone criticizing your fav game. go cry in a hole
2019-01-11 17:52
so tell me now why astralis arent the best csgo team of all time
2019-01-11 18:07
what a shit and brainless post this year we have seen the best ever NA squad, Liquid We have also seen the the peak of the most skilled csgo player ever, s1mple, who is backed up by a top 5-3 player electronic Astralis had little to no competition this year, because they are simply way way better than everyone. They have been arguably the best csgo team of all time. Your logic is complete bullshit, if liquid would have won 1 or 2 finals against them, would they be considered a more dominant team? no you fucking dipshit thats the most braindead way of thinking.
2019-01-11 16:59
best ever na squad... not exactly hard. lol The idea that the scene was competitive and brimming with talent is hilarious when you just realise the second best team is NA lol
2019-01-11 17:53
lmao thats fucking shit logic first what NA team has been better than 2018 liquid? second if the scene was ever dominated by a NA team, would that mean it was the weakest ever team? the scene was not competitive no cause astralis the only tier S team
2019-01-11 18:09
None, my point was that it isnt hard to be the best na team lol. The scene was no competitive because most of the best players in the world are playing with washed up scrubs. So a little team work gets you easy wins. Look at how bad nearly all the top players of 2017 have played this year. Faze didnt even bother to do bootcamps and practice. nearly every roster kept changing. You just have this mind set that becasue astralis were winning so much it means there the best ever when in reality its becasue everyone else stopped playing. You must understand that the games dying too, probably hard to stay motivated for a dying game

Actually a lot of people who was watching CS almost since the beginning is aware of the fact that 2018 was really weak. Don't get me wrong, Astralis is an amazing team since 2017 and changing Kjaerbye to Magisk only made them stronger but... they also have the longest standing core-lineup from almost all of top teams. No wonder they understand each other so well, hence teamplay. 2018 was a year of falling legends, constant lineup swaps, underperformances, not team based counter strike. To me - there was no team plays like back in 2015-17, except for Astralis of course. If you would put a guy from end of 2016 in 2017 he wouldn't even be surprised seeing top10 teams and lineups. Putting a guy from end of 2017 into end of 2018 would break his brain in half. Especially looking at top30 teams.
2019-01-11 18:06
thats the point, people seem to think that the scene was weaker, clearly cause its been such a long time since we have seen a clear best team. its dificult to say who was the top 1 team of 2017 and 2016, cause alot of teams where competing for the top spot, this clearly isnt the case for 2018, as astralis have been dominating the entire scene. Even though we have seen arguably the best team of CSGO history, the top teams have still been delivering a bit. We have seen some really strong teams in 2018, but astralis have been far above the others. Would you say the if astralis didnt exist, that 2018 wasnt competitive?

I'd say 2018 without Astralis would've been unpredictable, because top teams were lacking consistency. They were lacking consistency cause teamplay wasn't there and most teams were basing on individual performances, that's why Navi with simple and electronic is placed so high. In 2017 you could easily predict that Astralis vs VP will be a long and entertaining game because both teams were delivering when stakes were high, same goes for SK and few other teams. In 2018 you could say that Astralis vs Navi (top1 and top2) major final will be an epic game, but 2nd team did not show up (in my opinion due to simple's poor perfromance). Teams simply made too many quick changes in my opinion, lowering whole scene skill level. Combine that with lack of time to practice due to so many good tournaments and you have picture of poor CS overall. All the interviews I saw with top players, they were saying one thing - we need to find ourselves, we need to work things out, we need to practice together a bit more. Just simple fact that the only team competing decently against Astralis was Liquid, but you could see by so many losses that they are not fully formed, just like Astralis wasn't in the beginning. Anyone remembers when Astralis was constantly going off in semi's or being 2nd placed? Do you see the same exact pattern with Liquid? I'm just saying what I'm seeing, but everyone is up to give their own opinion. Astralis is one of the best teams in CS:GO history but in my eyes they did not fight for it so hard as other teams with their eras. Obviously it's not their fault that scene went to shit. EDIT: I was amazed by 2017 Astralis much more than 2018 Astralis.

2019-01-11 17:56
Well I think its true that it was weakest year of CS GO but still Astralis would be hard and top 3 team in best years when we had Fnatic, NIP, VP, NaVi, G2/envy, Luminosity, Dignitas/TSM. In this year we saw only Faze, Liquid who could compete against Astralis. Truth always lies in the middle, Astralis might be best team in the past also but also would be diffrent if they compete earlier..
2019-01-11 18:01
Imagine thinking Kinguin were a top team LUL the only thing they did for the seens was give us good stickers Xd
2019-01-11 19:10
Now compare this to 2015: NiP just lost fiff, c9 is just an above average NA team which means nothing in 2015, Kinguin yikes, Luminosity a young team of unexperienced players, Envy just the french scene bitching at each other more and more after every tournament....what a stacked year 2015 was for fnatic to be dominant.
