Whiskey suggestion

Turkey Slapdash
So I'm gonna buy a whiskey and my options from cheapest to expensive based on 35cl are; Passport - 63tl Ballantine's - 80tl J&B - 83,5 tl Jim beam - 85 tl Jameson Irish - 85 tl Johnnie walker red label - 94,5 tl Jack daniels - 99,5 tl Chivas regal - 119 tl Johnnie walker black label - 120 tl Which one do you prefer? I've heard passport and j&b are pretty rubbish and I tried red label it burns your throat and it's not enjoyable

No Johnnie walker none of them are really worth it. jim bean is like a small step up from jack daniels. Ballentine's is pretty nice however Chivas would be my choice out of all of them however I have no tried passport.

Ballantine's looks like it's really good for it's price
2019-01-16 18:35
It is but the really good whiskey is Scottish Whiskey but you would need to fly to Scotland because they don't export it and its made in such low quantities because the distilleries are so small. Chivas>Ballentines>Jamerson>Everything else. Trust me Johnnie Walker is only really hyped up for the name like Apple for their Iphones.

What about jack daniels? Is it overhyped or does it deserve it
2019-01-16 18:38
Over-hyped piss water. It's only drank with a mixer and no whisker should be mixed because you are meant to enjoy the flavor of whiskey. Also used in parties hence why it is so popular because it's the cheapest.

Alright that's a relief for me. Then i'll buy chivas or ballantine's based on how much money i'll have. Thanks

Np ;)
2019-01-16 19:17
black labels pretty gud
2019-01-16 22:13
not comparable to the others listed like chivas man
2019-01-17 21:40
i dont pretend to know much but for 25€ a bottle its not too bad imo, i like it but anyways, whiskeys are difficult to rate bcs u might buy a bottle for 500 € and think its the greatest thing ever yet i might drink it and prefer my 30€ shit bcs how different whiskeys are. ppl like different things. already the thing with the different types of whiskeys and thats far from where the debate ends.

Probably Chivas from that list, everything else is more or less industry whiskey, which isn't really that good. Just bought a bottle of Nikka Coffey Grain, it's more expensive, but so much more worth it.

Why are there only blended whiskies in the list? Try some single malt, I like whiskies from Islay distilleries the best, they're smoky. Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Bowmore etc

why dont you try jagermeister ? its taste is sweeter something you guys would appreciate i guess since you dont drink much? if jager is not a option id go for red label because of the price.but since you dont like that one the go for chivas. Whatever you do no Jack Daniels the only thing good about is the name nothing else

Just dont buy anything with goose symbol on it. Goose = Bad. The 4J rockstar brands are also pretty overpriced (Jack, Jim, Johnnie and Jameson). You should prolly consult your local store or go for Lagavulin if you dont trust him. The asian brands are also really good, as long as its 2015+. They are under-appreciated yet over achieved.

they are both blended scotch whiskeys, so not much but i think the chivas is gonna be a smoother scotch but if you like a little more body i would go with the black label. both are solid mid range scotch.

2019-01-16 23:25
Red label is more soft, ideal to blend with energy drink and ice, jack daniels too, passport too, Ballantines you can drink pure or with ice, Black Label is more strong, ideal to drink pure or with ice, other whiskies in your list i don't like, one recomendation that i give to you is macallan 12 years, he is soft, but i like him so much to drink pure or with ice, but his price is a little bit elevated

2019-01-16 23:43
it will ruin the flavour
2019-01-16 23:46
ice and bourbon mix well. The cheap and american brands go down better when chilled. Same with beer; if its cheap drink it cold, if its good drink it in cellar temperature.

As someone who got to know a lot of cheap and also expensive whiskys, I would recommend GlenGrant Major's Reserve images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I.. It's like the beginner product of this destillery. Where I come from it costs as much as Jack Daniels, but it is single malt scotch, and the quality-budget-ratio is freaking amazing.

If you want to try really good affordable whisky, my suggestions are Glendronach and Laphroaig - both are single malt Scotch. From commercial ones try Jameson Caskmates, it's not that expensive but taste is much better.
