That's a great way to live life brainlessly following manufactured data
2019-01-19 20:15
User voted you idiot, and you watch the film then form your own opinion about it, not hard mate
2019-01-20 04:06
well i mean there is vote manipulation on imdb but yeah
2019-01-20 12:47
to an extent, but it's quite well moderated by imdb and the exact criteria to get on that list isn't known so it's hard to manipulate for example, the turkish film "dag 2" (the mountain 2) has 100k votes averaging over 9/10 which is insane, but it's not on the list because 99% of the voters are turks so they probably adjusted it because of bias and vote spammers meanwhile other turkish movies with lower ratings and lower numbers of ratings are on the list, for example "kis uykusu" (winter sleep) has only 35k votes and 8.2/10 but managed to get on the list, im assuming its because the movie has voting from a wider audience and not all just turks spamming a 10 to get it up on the charts (and it is a good film btw) so overall it's not a big problem, and almost all the movies there are worth watching because they are highly rated, and for good reason
2019-01-20 14:20
they probably can detect vote manipulation then, like amazon

p.s. that shows your logic work > "form your own opinion" > pastes imdb link
2019-01-20 13:56
I am of the opinion that most of the films on the IMDB top 250 chart are good films. I have personally viewed over half of the films listed there and, in general, most are good, if not great, films. Only very few of the films that I have seen were not to my liking. Therefore, I highly recommend that anybody looking for good movies should browse the list and see what there is to offer. The films range from early 20th century to the modern day and are not only English, but also in many other languages. There are films from various countries and cultures, so regardless of your taste there's surely something to take your fancy.
2019-01-20 14:24
My advice? It's literally the advice of thousands of other people from all across the world. So no, don't take my advice, take the advice of film critics and fans of cinema from across the globe.

Movie industry is rotten with hollywood standards and hence isn't worth paying attention unless you fancy brainwashing. I quit watching movies when I was 16 or so - and when I did watch, holywood bs was a no-go
2019-01-19 20:17

2019-01-19 21:12
Dont mind him hes either a troll or just another idiot like jovik who thinks he is a revolutionary thinker when in reality he has the mindset of an edgy teen who believes in conspiracy theories and probably belongs on /r/im14andthisisdeep
2019-01-20 04:08
agreed. but I personally think brainwashing is defo not uncommon in movies, particularly the popular "etnertainment" kind like capeshit, as well as TV and general media. trying to tell u what is acceptable, what is cool,. what is desireable, what is funny, what is looked down on, which goes hand in hand with the materialistic views favoured by capitalism and corporations. I just wanted to hear if the kid can give a concrete answer
