I'm choosing a specialization that pays pretty well, so the anger isn't for me personally. I did my research on what paid and what didn't. I just don't think it's fair that other very important engineering specialties don't get paid a lot.
A lot of jobs are important, but engineering is white collar and important, you would think it would pay more just logically.
I think a lot of white collar management jobs are gonna go away in the future anyway. I don't think a forward thinking company would bloat itself with tons of middle management jobs like modern corporations.
The reason I chose engineering is because you can't replace engineers or lawyers or doctors, they're just necessary. Honestly most middle management jobs and even financial jobs aren't safe. They can easily be automated by AI software and financial jobs are dependent on the economy.
A lot of Wall Street execs lost their jobs during the 08 depression, the engineers, lawyers, and doctors were just fine.
