The Finnish Defence Forces
The main task of the Finnish Defense Forces is domestic defense against Russia. The Finnish Defense Forces is the world's best and most qualified force to this task. We have been designed and practiced throughout the existence of an independent Finland and equipped for one task: defense of our fatherland on our own ground against the Russian armed forces.
We have all the doctrines and the whole battle technique that is based on being as effective as possible against the doctrines and combat techniques of the Russian armed forces. We do a very detailed simulations and practice scenarios in the staffs, because we know who is attacking, what kind of equipment is attacking, what are the protocols of the opponent and what is the opponent's doctrine, basic combat methods, etc.
The Finnish Defense Forces are backed up in Finnish society during the peace and especially in a crisis, it's so deeply envied in the world (for example, there is four times a year the National Defense Academy's Defense Courses fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maanpuolustuskurssi) In general, the crisis resilience of Finnish society is top notch world-class. In the whole Europe, Finnish people willing to fight for their country is the highest being 74%.
The Finnish Defense Forces isn't designed and built to carry out wars in third world countries at long service links, unlike the US armed forces, for example. In Europe, the vast majority of the armed forces are specifically designed for crisis management and forcing peace in the developing world, which is why their armed forces are relatively small-sized professional armies being very lightly equipped, because everything must be air-transported. Such a crisis management arm doesn't work in conventional (traditional) warfare where two or more developed states measure one another.
For example, the fact that the Karelia Artillery Regimen of the Finnish Defense Forces during the war period is by far the strongest in firepower, most modern and performance-driven group in Europe. A similar system is not really found anywhere else in Europe. Not even from "professional armies" of some countries.
Furthermore, military training provided by the Finnish Defense Forces should not be neglected at all. In Finland, the infantry weapon army units even shoot highly sophisticated and demanding combat shots and the same military units also consume considerably more ammunition during training than most professional armies (!!).
Whenever Finnish reservists and conscripts are abroad, the Finns get a lot of praise and comments on how "no one would believe that this is a military conscript". A good example of this was in 2016 in the Cold Response exercise in Norway, where the Finnish Mechanized Military Battalion, assembled under the Swedish Brigade. In the delaying battle they caused very large losses to the Norwegian mechanized Telemark battalion, who are professionals-soldiers having experience in Afghanistan and Iraq. They are also specialized in arctic combat.
Also the Finnish Air Force is the sharpest in the world in the fight against airplane fighters (air-to-air combat) and in several NATO exercises the Finnish Air Force departments have achieved quite incredible power relations. For example in the Frisian Flag 2013 exercise, Finnish Hornet department of only 6 jets flew against nine NATO-countries Air Forces dropping 100 "enemy" machines during that training before going down.
In our culture we are for some reason self-defeating, even though there is no reason for it. And there really isn't any reason for it in this regard. That's why, this MAJOR KATOWICE 2019 will surely be EZ4ENCE.
