I went to Nigeria and the people were so friendly to me even though I got my wallet stolen there. They gave me lots of free stuff because I was a foreigner. I tried fumbwa and it was delicious.
When I was in Istanbul, I asked this guy for directions and he suddenly held my hand. I instinctively retracted my hand and he got offended and started yelling in some language that sounded Arabic (pretty sure it was Turkish). He was yelling so angrily that spit flew out of his mouth and onto my face and then he just walked away from me. Other than that, everyone else there didn't seem friendly and just kept to themselves. I had a bad time in Turkey.
People in Dubai were super nice and always treated me for dinner. Arabs in general seem like very generous people and they know how to treat their guests.
When I went to Jerusalem, these guys wearing top hats kept staring at me which made me uncomfortable. They started to follow me from a distance and when I tried to ask them why they were following me, someone from the group shouted something and all of them started chasing me. Luckily I outran them.

there were chinese tourists recently in japan eating at a buffet. the manager kicked them out because of how bad their eating habits and manners were and didn't even want their money.

I've travelled to almost 50% of the world, and so far the friendliest place I have been is Vietnam.
In my experience, the poorer the country the more friendly it is in general. Probably because there is still more of a community spirit and less pressure to "get ahead".
Africa is the place I've been the least though, and I have to say that most Africans I've met in life have been extremely friendly and helpful. I remember when I was younger I had a small car accident in my city and fucked up the tire and had to pull over, and I had never tried to fix my car before. 100s of native people just walked past me, but instantly a group of Albanians and a Ghanaian guy came up and helped me jack the car up and replace to the tyre. Left a pretty big impression on me.
There are nice people everywhere though, even places where people seem cold in public. It's more of a cultural attitude to strangers, not really an indication of whether they are good people.
+1 thata right same was for me I offered guy in Germany 50e to let me make a phone call coz my battery was dead and he barely game me his phone. Same shit happend to me in Serbia and Croatia and ppl were happy to help me even take to place I need no money offer needed. I had really amazing time in Spain I even learned thair language coz I travel there so much went 1 time and have been in love in Spain and it's ppl ever since.

I made a friend in Turkey and when I invited him out to eat, he would talk with a mouth full of food so bits of food would fly out. It was really gross.

when i was in norway last holidays people were like super nice and calm to me same goes with balkan people, like i met some guys from macedonia? and they were also super chill but i thought like if i would say soemthing bad they would instantly hit my face lol.. cant say much about arabs or africans (only ones i met in norway and they were kinda like 50/50) because i havent talk to any of them that much so yeah.
Overally from my small experience
People from Norway/Sweden are super chill and they try to understand You (maybe thats becasue im blonde and blue eyed and they were talking to me in norwegian because they thought im actually norwegian lol)
and i think people from NA are pretty nice, but i only know this from like small conversations on street, like someone asked me Where is X destination or something..
