Minor qualifiers

How come the minor is split up into continents? Surely this favors the Asian and american teams where 90% of the teams are just random fpl trash teams. Surely in this day and age, we would get rid of these and just have the best teams fight for spots at the major regardless of where they are from. It kinda annoys me that renegades basically have a free ticket to the major qualifiers because theyre Australian and asian CS is basically non existent

I prefer it this way. Regional qualifiers and then best teams from each region face off in global major. What's the problem?

the american and asian teams just lose to European teams and teams like north dont go to the minor qualifiers but teams like renegades will...

Ok I see your point but then it is up to the weaker continents to improve.. a "global" major can't give more slots to a particular continent just because they have higher average skill gap
2019-01-23 12:47
But why? it should be done on hltv rankings imo. So just look at top 40 or whatever and then decide how many slots depending on that. so imo, asia should have 1 slot and america 2. and europe should get the rest

If you see CS as a esport, yeah, we should have the best teams. If you see CS as a business (like Valve see) the division by continent makes all the sense. P.s.: I don't believe majors raise the interest in a game, but Valve see that way.
