Helsinki Major
 |
Finland Rudilele
So yeah: Finland is great place to host event. I would love to get atleast +250k event to Finland. We have top 10 team right now and pretty damn good esports fanbase. Helsinki is good place to have event. Hartwall Arena have like 14k capacity and easy place to go.

We are giving them a chance to be part of this community and they thank us by not learning the language, not learning the culture, being cocky, not joing job/work, raping. =)

Not all of them behave like that. That kind of behavior just stands out.

>not all of them, well a lot of them do behave like that, and this is undeniable. you've given a fair chance to be rescued and to live a life in this country and u thank the ones who gave u the chance by not even trying to live like a finnishman would
2019-01-30 18:29
You are not wrong, but it is unclear to me what point you are trying to make. In my original comment I said that Helsinki is a safe city, and I still stand by that statement. The occasional rape doesn't change it, because that happens anywhere where there are people.

It's the capital so obviously it's the city with the most immigrants in Finland. (15,5% of the population in Helsinki are foreigners or children of foreigners) But I'd say it's safe.
2019-01-29 16:55
don't worry! in Finland, immigrants only care about children like 10-13yo grills so you should be safe.

Sweden: Two majors won (After DHW) and Major-TO's did absolutely nothing. Brazil: Two majors won and Major-TO's did absolutely nothing. Denmark: Two majors won and Major-TO's did absolutely nothing. They should honestly just make it so that the major winners nationality decides the next destination.

Helsinki is: -Safe -Capital of Finland -Beautiful and there is so much more stuff to see than only cs People are pretty helpful and fair. Like they are not going rip you off. If we can host Major in Hartwall Arena it would be ideal spot. -Helsinki Central Station to Hartwall arena takes only like 20 minutes. 5 minutes with train and you walk 1km.

Imo they won't host a major in Nordic countries, at least now as it is not that affordable for example like Poland Poland as a location is pretty much in a heart of Europe due that it is not expensive to get there by any type of transport and Poland is not that expensive as Finland or any other Nordic country

Sweden had 2 Majors, Poland had 3 (and 4 in February/March), Germany had 3, USA had 3. Even UK and Romania had one. -Denmark had big events (ESL Pro League Season 8 - Finals/BLAST Pro Series: Copenhagen 2018 etc) -Russia had big events ( EPICENTER 2018/ EPICENTER 2017 etc) -Ukraine had big events ( StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 5/StarLadder & i-League StarSeries Season 4 etc) -France had big events (DreamHack Masters Marseille 2018 and some DreamHack Open Tours. Not that many, but still some decent) I think it's time to have ATLEAST +250k event in Finland. I heard Assembly will have some big news in February so we have hope. #FebruaryLaunch

Lol, it's not like Valve sits in their HQ thinking "to which city shall we grant the opportunity?" Noone in Finland is willing to put in the work and more importantly money it takes to set up the event. Hjallis has been teasing with the idea for quite a while now, but since there's been absolutely no concrete progress, pretty sure it's not happening. If I rented a venue for friday-sunday, set up all the tech and personnel, catering, security and shit, securing sponsors, teams and talent would be the easiest part, the final 1% tbh. I could even name the event whatever the fuck I wanted and no one could argue against it.

Valve chooses which already established big event it will sponsor. Finland doesn't have any big established events, so no major in a couple of years at least, unless we get a Dreamhack event or something. If there were investors interested in eports in Finland, someone could set up something similar to the Blast Pro Series by rfrsh entertainment in Denmark. But esports is not that far yet in Finland.

Well sorry but it isn't interesting seeing this for 500 million times: Northern lights flash in the sky. A blizzard blows, pelting on its way those too weak to withstand the fury of winter at its fullest. From the permafrost strikes a massive hand; the mythical giant once deemed dead off the coast of Italy now rises to life, regenerated, from Lappish soil. The time is due. Around the world, the word spreads. In Sweden, the best of the best cower in fear and lock themselves in the nearest IKEA retail store. The Brazilians run into the safety of the jungle, the Danes play dead in Legoland and the Slavs sprint crying to babushka’s warm embrace. Enceladus’s augurs are unleashed upon the scene. Aleksi “allu” Jalli hails from his journey spent in international teams. A man may leave Finland, but Finland never leaves a man. Once again, he picks up the green rifle, this time not for money or fame, but to smite all opposition in the name of Enceladus. Aleksi “aleksib” Virolainen leaves the fabled squad of HAVU to lead what we can finally describe as a Finnish superteam. Under his leadership shall the northern guns spit death and destruction upon foes who wail in their weakness. Jani “aerial” Jussila joins after the biggest transfer of the Finnish e-sport scene from his former team SuperJymy. No longer will he be the only stand-out player of his team, but instead, a vital ingredient of a chaotic cocktail made up of Finland’s finest. Jere “sergej” Salo thwarts all rumors of desperate Internet trolls trying to tell they know his parents who told him to stop playing. Oh, the humanity! Backed up by the forces at home, bursting from motivation like a wolf thirsting for blood, he returns to ravage everything in his path. Where skill rises to speak, experience sits silent and disciplined. Sami “xseveN” Laasanen fills the ranks from iGame, for what would the team be if they wouldn’t buy the best player from every other Finnish team? Vigilantly standing, supporting his teammates be the cause what it pleases to be, he will be the shield and sword his comrades need to achieve the ultimate. The warning has been given. The sky screams, the ground shakes and the oceans boil. ENCE is coming. #EZ4ENCE

Yeah we got Arctic Invitational 2019. I have no idea who got the idea organizing the tournament with 4 teams. Like why? It's very bad idea. 100k prizepool in 2019 is not good idea...
2019-02-03 13:59
You obviously know better so you should organize the event? ...Or maybe you don't know a shit about anything. You honestly don't know why they start with a smaller event? and do you realize that if there are less teams and less money it is equally good for teams because money/team is the same.

Lmao it seems like you dont know anything. How many good 4 team tournaments have you seen with 100k prizepool? It's huge risk to do that.
2019-02-03 22:03
With more money/team you get better teams and more interested people to watch it. Having more teams is not better than having better teams.

I think there is no point making tournament with only 100k prizepool in Hartwall Arena with 4 teams. Why? With 100k prizepool its unlikely to get tier 1 teams to join. More teams are better for viewers. Now there is chance we get 4 okay teams when there was chance to get 8 okay teams. There is reason why there is so few four-team tournaments. Feel free to go look tournament list.
2019-02-03 22:37
here you have same amount money/team and top teams participated: liquipedia.net/counterstrike/IBUYPOWER/M.. There is a better chance to have good teams if you don't divide money to too many teams. It's not an argument that "there are not many 4 team tournaments"

Finland Rudilele
Yeah you clearly don't know what you're talking about. With iBUYPOWER Masters IV teams wanted try new rosters and get some matches before Major. And still, please tell me good tournaments with 100k prizepool and 4 teams.
2019-02-03 22:52
People who funded this event are professionals in this type of business. They had some limits on how big of a risk they want to take. Are you suggesting these people that they should take a bigger risk? If you know nothing else but the number of teams and prize money of some past tournaments that is not enough of an argument to tell that this tournament type was a bad choice.
2019-02-04 13:47
I agree, but it's already EZ4ENCE, an event in Finland would make it so easy that it would be boring
