2019-02-03 20:44
Not exactly my tastes (although I like Pink Floyd) but >Meshuggah Kobong, Cloudkicker, Textures >Led Zeppelin Ignoring the shitty clones (Wolfmother, Greta Van Fleet etc) Thin Lizzy, Spirit (bonus points if you can find the song(s) that Led Zeppelin ripped off) >Dream Theater Kingston Wall, Riverside, Marillion >Opeth Edge of Sanity, Voivod, late Death (The Sound of Perseverance etc), >Pink Floyd Barrett era: Can, Spiritualized, Amon Düül II, Hawkwind post-Barrett: Gong, Yes, Robert Wyatt >Gojira Atheist (especially Unquestionable Presence), Gorguts >Tool Porcupine Tree, The Mars Volta, dredg
2019-02-03 20:48
Thanks man! I've listened to some of those, but some I've never heard of

Thy Cataflaque - avant-garde metal (roots in black metal) from Hungary Haken - prog rock/metal (similar to Dream Theater) Agalloch - folk/black metal sounding accessible and good ;) Bloodbath - Death metal 'supergroup' (for me earlier albums are the best) Death - original death metal (still very good) Enslaved - they are to black metal what Opeth was to death metal (worth a try) Katatonia - early death/doom, later heavy metal/rock (more classic) and some prog Leprous - very good prog metal/death Ne Obliviscaris - prog extreme metal (black and death) with violinist from Australia ;) Riverside - polish prog/atomspheric rock/metal Xantohochroid - epic/melodic black metal about fantasy word that they created Edge of Sanity - Crimson I and Crimson II are sooo good :D
2019-02-03 20:50
Nice list man thanks a lot

I'd put Meshuggah a bit higher, at least top 4 imo. The rest is pretty good. Slipknot should be on there as well though.

Black Sabbath - my all time greatest, has a great influence in my life. Pink Floyd - hands down the best rock band, they are the scientists of rock who experimented on all genres, and never forget their breathtaking guitar solo that isn't powering, -more like it talks to you. Dio- one of the best live performer in rock/metal , the best lyricist to ever lived. Iron Maiden - budget Dio but with better guitars. Led Zeppelin - overrated af, have less than 10 good songs. Oasis- idk how to decribe them, more like a casual band that you can sing along but really good. Grateful Dead- good songs for driving <3 One Direction - AnimeMyLife^v^
