IEM Katowice 2019 Major New Challenger stage Predictions
Australia itzsassym8
Hey guys this is just an update on my predictions before but this is just for the new challenger stage! Please discuss your thoughts below. Video explaining it tldr 3-0 NIP NRG 3-1 G2 Fnatic Renegades 3-2 Cloud 9 Vitality Tyloo 2-3 Ence Vega GH 1-3 ViCi Winstrike Furia 0-3 Avangar Spirit
2019-02-04 16:15
Switch ViCi and Avanagar
2019-02-04 16:16
Fair enough, but I think you would agree teams like furia and ViCi have the potential to upset!
2019-02-04 16:17
More likely FURIA imo. But i think both will get put in their place now that they’re playing much better teams. For sure potential for 1 or even 2 games won imo
2019-02-04 17:12
Iceland fatboislim
its not even an upset... you are overrating fnatic and nip so badly.
2019-02-04 17:44
its not overrating its purely trhe most likely
2019-02-05 14:12
Iceland fatboislim
how is that most likely?
2019-02-05 16:59
match up all the teams at the event and using past results and common sense how many games would each team win. Then use the logic to make the most likely, NIP and fnatic are capable of losing a game in an upset game cause bo1's but just use logic my man
2019-02-05 17:07
Iceland fatboislim
well then your logic is flawed as hell
2019-02-05 18:14
Then what do you change this too
2019-02-06 01:09
Germany Fabbsen
Avangar has a way better potential imo as they already have proven against the likes of NaVi what they're capable of. Also Ence will go through 3-1 or 3-2 imo
2019-02-04 18:11
I sleep on Avangar every major and anyone CIS and get bitten for it later but this time ima be right
2019-02-05 14:13
Czech Republic Bad_News_4_u
nt, avangar is better than renegades
2019-02-06 16:50
never said this, but Avangar are not better than Renegades cmon, use your peanut
2019-02-06 16:52
should have used the peanut

2-3 ENCE? I don't think so
2019-02-04 16:17
I have explained this in my video better, but I do agree with you but I think Ence only have untapped potential at the moment
2019-02-04 16:19
this will be ez4ence
2019-02-04 17:35
nah you are stupid. nip 3-0 but ence 2-3 tells it all
2019-02-05 15:20
calm ur stupid ass down, this is a major we are talking about, not group stage of just another t1 event. nip has way more experience, proved themselves against ence before, and are clearly a top 3 team in the challenger stage, ence havent done shit besides winning starladder, which was missing basically every top 5 team besides mouz, who were knocked out in the groups
2019-02-06 01:49
thank you. Like yes Ence could they go through yes but NIP easily will go through
2019-02-06 01:55
why do you overrate nip so much
2019-02-06 15:20
how are they not one of the most likely teams to go through
2019-02-06 15:51
because they are worse than at least 6 of these teams
2019-02-06 16:40
which ones
2019-02-06 16:40
g2.ence, vitality, c9, fnatic, rng
2019-02-06 16:50
ehh I disagree but yes all these teams can beat eachother
2019-02-06 16:51
what has nip done recently
2019-02-06 16:51
player break but they go to semis at ecs and then playoffs throughout many tournies. I feel as if I havent seen enough from the new c9, vital etc etc to be so confident on them. Yes NIP may not go 3-0 but they have the most likely chance of qaulifying
2019-02-06 16:55
Finland JSR1
putting g2 and vitality over nip:D stop arguing if you dont follow the scene
2019-02-14 02:20
they just lost against renegades.
2019-02-14 11:38
Finland JSR1
didnt talk about renegades, talked about g2 and vitality
2019-02-14 12:54
but u did say nip is better but they just lost against renegades
2019-02-14 12:57
Finland JSR1
bo1 :D just look at these teams past 3 months
2019-02-14 13:02

Finland JSR1
top 4 at ecs s6 finals blast pro cph 2nd
2019-02-14 13:06
and after that they have sucked. just look at them they cant beat anyone
2019-02-14 16:08
Finland JSR1
they went down quiet at lissabon but after that was a player break and bootcamping for the major
2019-02-14 16:10
but they still lose to winstrike
2019-02-14 16:18
Finland JSR1
but its bo1 :D AGO > Astralis cuz they won
2019-02-14 16:37
thats useless online bo1 not 3rd match of major
2019-02-14 16:38
Finland JSR1
but 3rd match of major is still bo1, trust me now that nip are gonna play only bo3 they will go trough

2019-02-17 21:58
in this major
2019-02-17 21:58
as you say before.. this is a major, anything is possible. Ence for me could do 3-2 easly
2019-02-09 09:16
He thinks ence > nip. Which is false, nip will go 3-0, ence will go 3-2
2019-02-09 18:31
2019-02-10 17:49

ahaha nice 1
2019-02-04 16:21
3-0 NiP Fnatic 3-1 NRG Renegades ENCE 3-2 Cloud9 Vitality G2
2019-02-04 16:20
I can agree with this, similar to mine in the sense of which teams go through. I do still think Tyloo is a question mark with Attacker and SUmmer. Its just unknown right now
2019-02-04 16:22
France Yo_Les_Noobz
They always choke hard in that qualifier format
2019-02-04 16:39
Sweden swediztann3
switch nip and nrg with fnatic and cloud9
2019-02-04 16:24
fair enough, but you can agree with all the teams there

NiP and nrg 3-0 when there's teams like C9 and fnatic? Also, ence going 2-3 after how they've been playing recently? NiP will be lucky to go 3-2, Renegades 3-1 is a push, I would say 2-3 is more likely for them. Rest dont matter as 1-3s and 0-3s are random.
2019-02-04 16:48
fair enough I guess I dont have my explanation in here! so if you wanna understand my thoughts watch the video but all good if you dont want too
2019-02-04 16:51
Finland Alko^
NiP > C9, fnatic

United Kingdom Hamshanks
2019-02-07 17:46
Ence 3-1 / fnatic 3-2 or 3-1 / Nip 3-2 or 2-3 / renegades 1-3 / vitality 3-0 or 3-1 / maybe nrg 3-0 maybee
2019-02-04 16:54
I think the hardest bit with this stage is that what is meant to happen doesnt happen
2019-02-04 16:58
Russia zbogus
Why is everyone hating on CIS region
2019-02-04 17:00
I always underestimate them and they always do good so look at it as a positive
2019-02-04 17:01
Russia zbogus
Here is mine: 3-0 NRG fnatic 3-1 avangar, NIP, Ence 3-2 vitality, spirit, Vega 2-3 winstrike, renegades, furia 1-3 g2, tyloo, c9 0-3 vici, grayhound
2019-02-04 17:05
oh ye, I guess I dont have as much faith in CIS and have been proven wrong time and time again
2019-02-04 17:12
Russia Men)))
3-0: NiP, NRG 3-1: Vitality, Cloud9, Fnatic 3-2: ENCE, Avangar, G2 2-3: Spirit, Winstrike, TyLoo 1-3: VegaSquadron, Grayhound, Renegades 0-3: ViCi, FURIA
2019-02-04 17:03
I feel like Avangar and maybe ence could be swapped out of that but I agree with most
2019-02-04 17:14
Tbh Don’t see furia going 0-3
2019-02-06 01:47
same here, same as vici
2019-02-06 15:54
3-0: NiP, NRG 3-1: ENCE, Vitality, Cloud9 3-2: Fnatic, ViCi, Avanagar 2-3: Winstrike, Renegades, Furia 1-3: Spirit, Grayhound, G2 0-3: Vega Squadron, TyLoo Mine arent standard, but a lot of thought was put in, most of the 2-3 and 1-3 could potentially be swapped.
2019-02-04 17:09
ye ye, like the thing I like about this major is that there is potential for every single one of these teams to go through. Tyloo and vega should be able to win a game each atleast but most of ur top 8 I can agree with
2019-02-04 17:15
I’d usually agree with you that Vega and TyLoo could win ones, but they always prey on the teams that are unprepared and for once it really does look likw theyre all fairly prepared. Their strats are strong, their teamplay is strong, etc. while Vega and TyLoo have bren looking down the past couple months of play. Perhaps G2 or Grayhound fall short too but idk just doubting it.
2019-02-04 17:37
Sweden pontus767
You've been thinking the same about VEGA ever since their upset against NiP in 2016...
2019-02-05 15:20
VEGA and Tyloo will defs not got 0-3 thats for sure
2019-02-05 15:22
I mean it's not exactly unexpected what they're going to try and do now. They do it every major and people have time to prepare. I put Vega to go through at the FACEIT Major, I just doubt it this time looking at everything.
2019-02-05 15:44
Tyloo will have their strongest roster than ever with many domestic teams for them there is no way they 0-3
2019-02-05 18:34
We’ll see. I could see Grayhound taking their place too but eh, favoring the hungry team. Tyloo looked in shambles compared to former form the last few times I’ve seen then play being commonly beaten bu “lesser” domestic teams on a regular.
2019-02-05 18:59
It’s a different roster but last time they were in this stage they beat much better teams than themselves. But there is just no way they lose all games like there is spirit
2019-02-06 01:15
Finland Faifainei
Vega has played in the recent months?
2019-02-06 16:24 They have been, and doing poorly at that.
2019-02-06 17:01
Finland Faifainei
Still only 4 official matches in the last 2 months is pretty low quantity. I have a feeling they will fare better than most expect, 2-3 would be my guess.
2019-02-06 17:09
lul at people still picking against vega in the new challenger stage
2019-02-04 17:17
Finland no_man
3-1 rng haha lmao
2019-02-04 17:19
Renegades wont qualify 2-3 theyll choke in 2-2 match so thats why for me they only qual if they go 3-0 or 3-1 I explain it better in my vid but ye, ence defs have a good chance to qual still they are one my teams that could swap pretty easily

LUUUUUUUUL my bad, sir!
2019-02-04 23:55
I agree vitality have the potential of going 3-0 but you do have to consider Alex and zyw0 have not competed at a major that im aware of before you have to take that pressure etc into consideration. Within a few months yes Vitality can be a top 10 top 5 team
2019-02-04 17:39
Russia VeryChokeGuy
Alex showed up great at the last event. They played at the Minor which was Mini Version of Main Qualifier. I think they will do great. Vitality 2Stronk for 3-2. At least 3-1 with chance that some Low tier dog will upset them. (OMG, my English)
2019-02-04 17:43
I just feel like for Alex and Zy they both havent had much experience playing against a lot of unorthodox CS as well. I think they will do better in the next stage. Nothing against Vital I see huge potential in them but idk if that helps explain it. Your English is fine, mine is probably horrible right now as its 3:17 am for me cause I am waiting to cast some cs
2019-02-04 17:47
Russia VeryChokeGuy
Maybe your point are actually the right one, but we'll see. Only 1 week to go. I had a good talk with u. Good Luck and good night as well, nice guy :)
2019-02-04 17:51
no worries man if you arent doing anything watch sprout and spirit and ago and movistar riders!
2019-02-04 17:55
Finland Faifainei
They have played in lower tier teams against weaker opponents that do weird shit. The teams that have the biggest potential caught off guard are the ones that have been at the top for a longer period of time, like fntc and nip, g2.
2019-02-06 16:28
I feel like you responded in the wrong spot, yes they have the most chance of being caught off guard but they still are the most likely to go through
2019-02-06 16:32
Finland Faifainei
"I just feel like for Alex and Zy they both havent had much experience playing against a lot of unorthodox CS as well" just saying that vitality is likely more prepared/used to "unorthodox cs" than you seem to think.
2019-02-06 17:02
My bad, hltv is so broken on my phone. I am referring to Asian region cs and sa. They have not been exposed to this type of cs
2019-02-06 17:11
my point stands
2019-02-14 02:19
Brazil TonimSan
One question: How C9 is directly in the qualifier? The changed the core, and just RUSH and Auti remain from the FACEIT Major team. FACEIT: RUSH, Auti, Golden, Styko, Skadoodle Katowice: RUSH, Auti, flusha, kio and Zellsis What am I missing?
2019-02-04 17:33
Finland ksyppe
C9 listed zellsis as coach so he can replace golden. they will play without coach
2019-02-04 17:34
Brazil TonimSan
hmmmm, thank you sir!
2019-02-04 17:35

United Kingdom Hamshanks
his opinion
2019-02-07 17:46
Ah okay
2019-02-09 01:00
Your prediction loses all credibility once you put Renegades at 3-1. That prediction has everything to do with biasism rather than logic. And I don't see how you can justify putting Renegades, Tyloo and G2 over Ence.
2019-02-04 17:44
France Creez_sp
Renegades looks solid actually. I want tobsee if they are with international very competitive teams too. We will see
2019-02-04 17:44
I obviously havent broken it down here, I agree yes it has a some bias too it! but I am promise you I did use logic
2019-02-04 17:44
That made no sense but I did use logic and actually put a lot of thought into it
2019-02-05 18:09
2019-02-05 04:15
I believe that the Chinese and CIS teams will show everyone that they can play=3
2019-02-04 17:43
I agree and yes I havent really put the best foot forward for CIS but I still do think and have stated that they are able to have that potential to go further
2019-02-04 17:44
I believe that at least Winstrike and ViCi will come next. It is my opinion. Ty for understanding
2019-02-04 17:49
I have more faith in china numba wan ahah but ill probs be proven wrong with cis scene

I have a hard time seeing ENCE not advancing and G2 advancing 3-1. I also really doubt that AVANGAR and Spirit will go out 0-3
2019-02-04 18:14
Spirit will go 0-3 Avangar I see maybe going 1-3 or 2-3 but I dont see them making it through still
2019-02-05 14:13
allu |
Sweden Dguyg
Me neither. Although I do feel like 0-3 is a bit extreme, especially for AVANGAR. Winstrike and either Grayhound or Furia would be my 0-3 picks
2019-02-05 15:16
probably a bit biased with GH but then again I feel teams such as GH, furia and ViCi will be able to upset
2019-02-05 15:18
Poland SalamiXg0d
Switch tyloo with ence Avangar 0-3 ? LUL Renegades no chance to make it even 3-2 G2 or NIP 3 - 0 I think cuz they dont play since couple of months so their enemies have no chance to anti strat them And btw this prediction is little bit retarded cuz nrg and nip can play with eachother in first round and all prediction will be wrong.
2019-02-05 14:24
the keyword can, yes its possible for them to play eachother but if they dont I believe that this is what will happen. Personally with Renegades they either qual going 3-1 or they dont make it at all going 2-3 thats why I did not put them in the 3-2 section. Ence and vega as well are teams that are interchangable with the 3-2 teams Just my thoughts, at the end of the day out of any new challenger stage any team can really make it if they get the right run
2019-02-05 15:09
the only bit im wrong with so far is avangar 0-3
2019-02-14 02:20
Poland SalamiXg0d
Nah this stage is more like roulette, G2 will not even qualify NIP probably too
2019-02-14 16:44
Ye Ye well g2 are playing fnatic now aha but everyone said spirit wouldn’t go 0-3

Good prediction tho

actually spirit could win furia or vici. they have a lot of experience and have played main qual at london
2019-02-05 18:16
Spirit have been known to fall against teams that play unorthodox cs, Furia I’m not too sure on but ViCi literally counter how spirit play
2019-02-05 18:31
c9 is going 3-0 watch, 50p for me if they do pls

2019-02-05 21:44
Renegades is better than Ence? I don't think so
2019-02-05 18:18
This is just predictions for a stage of a major not comparing two teams directly. With 3 other teams being in their Demestic region, and 2 being from na the region they play in. Then being familiar with some players from Furia. That’s 6 teams of 16 that renegades have played against multiple times giving them more room to work on just the other teams. With G2, fnatic, Nip being more accessible to prepare for they have a much greater shot than ENCE to qual for the next stage. With Avangar, ENCE, Vega and then Spirit left which I think we can agree Renegades are better than Avangar, Vega and spirit. Yes I think renegades are better than ENCE but I did not imply nor suggest it before
2019-02-05 18:26

Nah man the only correct predict is 0-3 4ENCE
2019-02-05 20:30 Sure, thats why they lost to them and failed to qualify for FACEIT major
2019-02-05 21:20

NA predict tbh bro, i would say: 3-0 Cloud9 Fnatic 3-1 NRG Vega Ence 3-2 Vitality G2 NIP 2-3 Tyloo Avangar Furia 1-3 ViCi Spirit Renegades 0-3 Winstrike GrayHound Of course, surprise always happen, but in theory would be something like that, with one or other team changing place by the close level between them.
2019-02-05 18:47
ence 3-1? LOL
2019-02-05 21:22
Yeah they will def 3-0

3-0 fnatic nrg 3-1 ence vitality cloud9 3-2 nip renegades avangar 2-3 vega g2 spirit 1-3 vici winstrike furia 0-3 tyloo grayhound
2019-02-05 18:52
How will tyloo go 0-3
2019-02-06 01:19
Finland Alko^
cuz they suck?
2019-02-06 07:45
They have ViCi and Grayhound that they easily beat, potentially Renegades so a few domestic teams they are used too. Then Spirit who they have beaten before and with their roster changes counters every bit of ts play style. I can keep going on but this is enough to prove they can’t go 0-3
2019-02-06 17:18
Finland Alko^
NiP, fnatic, ENCE, G2, Vitality, C9 > tyloo
2019-02-06 17:25
Did you not even read what I wrote. Vitality will struggle against tyloo depends how well they adapt but 5 teams being better than them does not support your 0-3 just that your peanut isn’t working
2019-02-06 17:30

Ahahahah spirit 0-3?! Good luck then

I still don’t get how sprite the drink will be able to to win a game against any of the Asian teams when they just hold back on site and get no info. If the Asian teams play style counters there’s how are they suppose to beat any of the other teams
2019-02-06 01:24
liquid 3-0

+1 Unfortunately we have to wait till the little boy event is over till we can watch the big boys.
2019-02-06 16:58
Still some teams in here that can go deep with the big boys
2019-02-06 17:22
United States Trump2020KAG

2019-02-06 17:32
These matchups are interesting vitality and tyloo oooft gonna really be a proving ground for vital and tyloo for me

United States Trump2020KAG
I think zywoo will be to strong for tyloo Nip vs furia looks like it will be a good game.
2019-02-06 17:45
I think it’ll be good to see how zy can adapt and same with Alex because obviously tyloo generally play unorthodox cs especially now with their recent changes It’ll be a good matchup zy vs xxcurate
2019-02-06 17:48
United States Trump2020KAG
Yea for sure. X got that awkward awp style that could throw his Opponents off with his plays. Kinda like a stew with the awp. Random quick peeks from random angles and spots.
2019-02-06 18:01
It’s just tyloo in general

When you remove region bias: moving every team from asian region down one, its decent list, only avangar weirdly placed even if you move it up one when vici goes down one.
2019-02-06 06:08
It’s not region bias, but I get how you could perceive this. I do agree Avangar should be able to win a game but I think some of the 2-3 have good potential to make top 8
2019-02-06 06:28
3-0: Cloud9, AVANGAR 3-1: fnatic, ENCE, NRG 3-2: TYLOO, Vitality, Winstrike 2-3: G2, Vega Squadron. NiP 1-3: Spirit, Grayhound, FURIA 0-3: Renegades, ViCi
2019-02-06 06:19
In what world does renegades lose to spirit, Grayhound or Furia.
2019-02-06 06:29
Same world where FaZe when 0-3 in Krakow
2019-02-06 07:05
There are 3 other Asia teams rng can’t 0-3
2019-02-06 17:23
Stopped reading after NRG
2019-02-06 07:16

2019-02-06 07:59
mine 3-0 = NiP and Fnatic 3-1 = Cloud9,NRG and Vitality/G2 3-2 = G2/Vitality,Renegades and ENCE 2-3 = TYLOO,Vega Squadron and Spirit 1-3 = Furia,Winstrike and Avangar 0-3 = ViCi and Grayhound

2019-02-06 08:36
I think vitality will go 3-0 they've been looking really good and zywoo is not the only one that can carry I also think that avanger have a good chance to make it through
2019-02-06 09:17

2019-02-06 12:37
I mean they have a new lineup which i'm not too sure about. We'll have to wait and see
2019-02-06 13:04

renegades will be eliminated with 1 - 3 score
2019-02-06 17:28
So your -Avangar and spirit +rng is wrong. But renegades will comfortably beat Avangar in the first game 16-9
2019-02-06 17:32
Russia Sugawara
nt i guess you ll cry after 1st day of major no chance for botgades 16 - 9 their max
2019-02-06 17:33
Russia Sugawara
AVANGAR can`t be eliminated with 0 - 3 score cuz they already playing with botgades
2019-02-06 17:32
