youtu.be/66TBG6LsieI?t=177 L4D3 wasn't what you expect from it, it was still a zombie shooter but with a lot of player choices being placed on on both the character selection (because hero shooters like overwatch were very popular at the time) and branching paths on the map. it felt like a completely different game with the L4D3 name on top of it. You would be able to play with people in VR in the same game TL:DW - L4D3 was in development until 2017 , but because Source 2 was a bloated mess that wouldn't work well on consoles some of them wanted to switch to Unreal Engine, some wanted to stay with Source 2. Because of the way valve works they were stuck in a stalemate, couldn't decide and development of L4D3 was stopped.

WoW was released in 2004. I bet you’ll use different genre as an argument, but not really as most concepts can bring home more for years on end if executed right. HoMM 3 as well, actually. With all the people that bought this via GOG, that is above 10-15k as well. A 1999 (or 98) game.

World of Warcraft is an MMORPG, they brang a lot of contents for many years. Don't compare Left 4 dead 2 with World of Warcraft please. At least compare Left 4 dead 2 to another FPS or something like that, even comparing it with Call of duty is better, but still bad. Left 4 dead 2 doesn't have the same goals as a game like WoW...

Ofc i'll use a different genre, there is no point in comparing games like that, no even because of their genre in particulair, but their goals, left 4 dead 2 isn't a game made for large public, WoW is. I don't see your point actually. it's like comparing a car everyone can drive and a plane.

For an old, deead and repetitive cooperative game, yes.

The game still receives frequent updates and fresh content to this date. In addition the game is a MMORPG, therefore there is always something worth grinding unlike L4D.

I mentioned one more game though, and btw wow is as repetitive as any other game. Mind you, new content doesn’t mean a differentiation in replayablility.

Illusion of replayability is enough to keep the most of a fanbase alive. Your point is 10x greater though, # of lost players > # of persisting players proves it as well, apoloji. x)

It's lots of fun with friends on LAN. But it needs innovation gameplay wise. Don't make the same mistake like Borderlands and just bring iterations of the same over and over.

Interesting. out of all games made by valve L4D was the game I found most fun to play.

Nothing quite like a ninja rush from start to the end of a level and then locking your teammates out of the safe room :D
2019-02-06 17:24
I like it when a teammate gets downed and you pretend like you're going to revive him, but you just let go of E at the last second and just keep doing that over and over :D

Valve cant count after 2 chill
2019-02-06 16:56
even if they could count to 3 i dont think their games with "3" in them would be good successors
2019-02-06 17:05
There's like 6 half life games and 4 versions of CS
2019-02-06 17:36
he's right m8, even Portal got only 2 games... 6 HalfLife? are u high or am I missing something? there is only two. HL 2 got many 'episodes' wich would be counted as DLC nowadays. i think. and CS is just a mod, you cant really count this one.

L4D2 was/is amazing, really love the concept and the potential for competitive play. Just played it a week ago when stoned, and was really as tense and good as before.
2019-02-06 17:42
Valve is holding themselves back with how the company is structured and works. They could have literally been a Rockstar Games but with a Eco System (Steam) that actually is great.

Love L4D2, have 2k hrs in it

spamming voice lines in l4d2 was fun

Half Life 3 or Half Life 2 - Episode 3 :( L4D3 :( Dota 3 New CS (LUL)
