Its still a small engine, it depends how many kilometers per year etc.. and if you drive a lot on highways, or only cities, near cities etc
2019-02-08 12:04
Im gonna use it most of the time in my city going to work and going out, rarely highways

slow german grocerygetter also gonna break alot /thread
2019-02-08 12:11
1,4 tsi, 160 ps... your steering chain is gonna get rekt within 100tkm, in order to change it they might even need to take the engine out, means you have to pay at least 1k € (in germany)... wasted money in my eyes, but thats non of my business tho. Theres a reason why VW is rooting back from steering chain to tooth belt mate.

Depends on which year it was build. The newer 1.4 tsi ones are pretty reliable. If you get an older one with an CAXA engine it will flop. It got an issue where your 3 cylinder leaks and breaks after a while. Or your steering chain gets a lil lose jumps over and your valves will hit the cylinders. So if you get a newer model you should be fine, but you still have to drive them carefully. The downsize of motors is ongoing for a while now so I think its fine to drive a 1.4 L around 160ps

Don't buy it. Too expensive to be that ugly and volkswagen. With that money I'd buy bigger and nicer looking car. But if u like it then buy it.
2019-02-08 12:43
Im getting it for 7k, there are no other choices i like with that money
2019-02-08 13:00
Its a cool car and that engine has a good mpg, get it
2019-02-08 13:09
I have golf 6 1.4 tsi 122hp, almost same engine, if not the same. Same platform and etc. One bad thing is about gearbox, it's literally fragile if you love to catch up with someone on the road or to stay in traffic for long time. But as a 1st car it will be cool for ya. Feeling dynamic. it's like 8.5 sec to 60. You are better to look for 2.0 engine, much better. Or golf gti 6 if it fits ur budget.
