You know why is easier? You are talking with no sense. Ofc the back is one of the main muscles so you can work pretty hard and longer.
Lets see if you can understand. In one hand, in bench press you are just working your pecs primary and secondary shoulders and triceps. But in the other hand with deadlift you are working much more muscles than bench. Trapezius, low back, glutes, quads, biceps femorals, abs because you can do it contracting before starting, then hip flexors and i can continue. Multiple muscles are helping you and thats why a lot of people prefers to do deadlifting than benching.. because is better for the hole body.
