Teams who can win the major.

1. Astralis - Once again the heavy favorites. Imo they have a 50% chance of winning it, since they're so ahead of everyone else in map pool/strategy/team play. We're gonna need a massive over performance from the other top teams to take them down. 2. Liquid - One of the few teams that can beat astralis. We don't know exactly how good they're gonna be with Liquid, since IBP was an awful tournament and everyone was still rusty, but I believe they can be even better than they were with Taco. 3. Mibr - Even though they struggled in 2018, they had a big improvement at the end of the year and now that they can speak Portuguese again, their communication will be much better. Plus, having Zews can help a lot on their preparation, but I feel that they'll need fer back to his top level if they wanna beat the top teams. 4. FaZe - Most people are doubting them because they picked up adren and niko is igling, but they still have the best firepower in the scene and if at least 3 of the stars are in a good form they can wreck everyone, including astralis. It will depend a lot on how their players, specifically Niko, will deal with the pressure, but I believe that now they're more experienced, so they should do better than boston major where they choked hard against c9. Those are the only teams I see winning it. Na'vi, unfortunately, have too many internal issues, and it seems Zeus doesn't wanna play anymore. Everyone else winning would be a major upset. In fact, Astralis not winning it is already an upset imo. Tell me what u think!).

Good analysis but s1mple and electronic can always pop off at random

I dont know. At faceit major both were on god tier level and it was still not enough to beat Astralis. Moreover, at faceit edward and flamie were playing kind of well too, which is not happening right now.

they need to pop off JUST to get into playoffs, but against well structured teams - no chance, they will get shut down easily

I'd say NiP have a chance of winning too, the only reason they are so low on the rankings is they haven't played a game since Lisbon and people suddenly think they're not a great team (Which they're still Top 5-6 worthy) in terms of skill. Na'Vi as well have a shot at winning, but I agree that it seems a lot more unlikely with how Zeus described it, which is unfortunate, s1mple really deserves a Major win.

Nah, I dont think they can win. Even if they play on their peak I don't think it's enough to beat Astralis. Maybe if they get lucky with the bracket or something like that, but it's still very unlikely imo.
2019-02-10 17:17
Which one of the two, NiP or Na'Vi? NiP have shown comptence against Astralis multiple times as a team. Their worst matchup would be a well playing Na'Vi because they struggle against that style of play. Na'Vi always have a shot at beating Astralis, and especially if they play on their peak level.

People said the same about Immortals on the PGL major. And since the beginning I said they would surprise and even put them all the way to the final on my Pick'em challenge. And look what happened in the end
2019-02-10 20:08
Astralis Liquid FaZe MIBR NaVi C9 NiP only possible teams... just like... this major is gonna be a good one!

Mibr is more likely to end 0-3 than to win the major
