Cmon, dont be harsh on him. He was naive and threw a match for couple hundred bucks worth skin because i believe they weren't even paid. It's okay. That was past. But teammates ghosting up on him is bad. I hope he can get good stand ins for the sydney event and doesnt lose his spot
2019-02-12 12:52
standins? the core that qualified plays in eunited...

There's no confirmation yet. In epl for example, the org holds the spot, not the majority of the players

It's not the major. Org owns the spot. Unless they sold it with the players to eunited they gucci

But I'm pretty sure it's not how it works. I think the rule stated "A least 67% of the team should change org for the spot to follow them". This is not the case, so swag may still have the spot
2019-02-12 12:55
they dont need to worry, they only got 3 of them they would need 3.35 to take it

I dont get whats up with the free swag shit, i mean, he matchfixed and got caught, we cant trust him to play in tournaments, thats like saying kqly should be able to play again at the top lvl, cheating of any kind shouldnt be alowed under any circumstances.

A 17 year old kid got dragged into a money-making scheme through peer pressure because they weren't paid by the scummy org they were representing. What the fuck is wrong with you
2019-02-12 13:05
yeah, and kqly was dragged into the cheat situation cuz he couldnt keep up with the pressure of being top 1, theres nothing wrong with me, i cant trust someone who failed me previously, honesty in sports that involves betting should be top 1 priority. At least KQLY took it with honour and recognised everything, asuming his punishment: "At the end of August, I was contacted by a supex0 progammer, who built a strong case and told me that a lot of pros were using the program. "Instantly, I became curious. He gave me access to the program for seven days. Like an idiot, I fell into temptation, which was too great. I wanted to see what it looked like on public servers and matchmaking." "I lost everything and I do not expect any compassion, I made a mistake and I will pay it for it. Unfortunately everything ends here. Once again, I'm really sorry to have disappointed everyone."

KQLY was 23 or 24 when he cheated, he was mature enough to be held responsible for his own actions and crucified by the community. Throwing should still be frowned upon no matter the circumstances and punished, but shouldn't be regarded as big of a fuck up as cheating which IMO is the ultimate crime.
2019-02-12 13:17
Yeah, but the result is the same, you do something you are not supposed to, with the only pupose to alter the result of the match, that affect orgs, betting sites, tournament organizers, sponsors and fans...

You make a fair point, but keep in mind in DotA 2 they get a 2 year suspension from events for matchfixing, not a permanent one. I doubt these guys would ever throw again after the shitfest that happened to them as a result of their actions, especially since most of them wouldn't be able to get a normal decent job as they haven't even gone to college.

>scummy org hahahha grow up bro only the very best teams in the world had salary back then. It was easily avoidable by asking iBP for a salary or searching for a new org until their contracts ran out. instead they chose to scam the public who bet on their games. disgusting

Wasnt he 16? Either way, thats exactly it. He had just joined a team with the actual legends and best players of NA. If i had been in his situation and my team and igl told me to do this, i would do it for the team. At least in that specific situation.
2019-02-12 14:17
he was young, he was offered money to throw, he was probably told that no one will find out. and kid would do it for easy money
2019-02-12 13:09
mate, trust me, im 100% with you, he was a young boy and he did something stupid, but as ive previously pointed, any kind of cheating or matchfixing should be banned for life, you cant trust these people, the rules were clear, and everyones knows it, its like unbanning ppl who turns 18 yo if theyve cheated, the only difference is this guy is talented, but theres no reason to unban him.
2019-02-12 13:16
Cheaters only get a 2 year suspention, they dont get banned for life

no it isnt all vac bans are banned from ever being in a major
2019-02-12 13:31
Cheaters are banned for life by valve(including matchfixers), but other tournament orgs can unban them. info from liquipedia: Treatment of VAC bans: ESL - On March 24th, 2017, it was announced that VAC bans would be equivalent to a two year ESL ban [ In all other major leagues and events, players with a previous Counter-Strike: Global Offensive VAC ban are prohibited from participating Treatment of match-fixing bans: ESL - On July 24th, 2017, it was announced that moving forward, bans for first offenses of match-fixing would result in a five year ban. Additionally, all players currently serving bans for match-fixing at this point would be unbanned

Hiko laugh thread. Hiko left c9 just before the ban because he would replace steel in iBP as a "NA super team" then they all got banned xDDD except skadoodle. Then Hiko asked skadoodle to make a new team with him and he said yes. THEN IN COMES C9 AND OFFERS SKADOODLE HUGE 25K TO JOIN THE TEAM. (It was huge back then) They add freakazoid too and leave Hiko on his own hahahahahahah. thats what u get snake hiko for leaving c9 snake hiko snake hiko hahahaha
