that’s just wasted money if you’re not a streamer or a YouTuber

2 of them were used (u2412m for €100 + a 1707fp for €20) I like having stuff on the foreground rather than constantly alt tabbing

I used to run dual monitors. Then I needed a laptop for school and started using that more because it was better than my pc. Now I got a better pc again but stuck with using 1 monitor, my new pc also took way more room on my desk so (can't have it on the floor due to carpet) so I thought 1 monitor fit better. It might be useful for watching content while playing non-intensive games. Also fun for watching streams and browsing on the other screen. It's fun to have but not a necessary must. I'd rather buy a good monitor or have a few upgrades for my pc instead of having a 2nd/3rd monitor.

Ty for ur input, ive got 144hz monitor and another benq one laying around, but dont think ill find use for it really
2019-02-14 18:59

yes absolutely worth it, monitors arent that expensive anyway
2019-02-14 18:53
1000000000000000% worth, once you get 2 you'll want another.
2019-02-14 18:53

If I use them separate does it count? I mean I use one of monitors in wc when I wanking / watching some tv show while poop Another one in bath usually singing "America got talent" and shit some sort of this
2019-02-14 18:58
my main monitor is a 144hz one and my second just a 60hz which i don't need for gaming obv. worth it 100%
2019-02-14 18:59
And what do you use ur 60hz one for?
2019-02-14 19:00
idk just for browsing and watching some yt :D
2019-02-14 19:08

i have 3 also.
2019-02-14 19:03
I use 3, simply because I've upgraded my monitor twice and kept the others because it's useful. Usually I've got stuff like TeamSpeak or Discord open, sometimes a video aswell whilst I'm playing.

I use 2, I play some casual game and Netflix or YT on the other. When I'm doing homework I have Word or something in one and the other with a browser. I love it

Im using dual and its fucking awesome, cant imagine have only 1 now xD
2019-02-14 19:14
same, i cant imagine using only 1 monitor since i got 2
2019-02-14 19:17
life is so much more easier with 2 monitors
2019-02-14 19:17
if you stop playing games it doesnt really matter
2019-02-14 19:22
I'm not even playing games that much and it's still good to watch 2 streams at once or just watch something and browse on the internet
2019-02-14 19:22
u might be right but i stopped playing cs and just watching series so im good with 1
2019-02-14 19:24
3 + a Tv screen in the back. But honestly, I couldn't have mono screen what's so ever. Whatever I do, I'm always multitasking. In your case it would be working app on main screen + working document on the side, gaming + tv show, website or whatever on the side, surfing on the web + youtube, tv show, twitch on the side, etc... If you use alt tab you need a another screen. It's as simple as that.
2019-02-14 19:19
I rarely alt tab though, if at all.. got a 2nd monitor, but not plugged in, guess i wont be needing it
2019-02-14 19:30
Then keep the way you live. Because once you started to use it you barely can't go back. Like with cellphone or electricity.

rn i have hltv on one and major on one
2019-02-14 19:18
I do and it's awesome. Playing and watching movies at the same time is the best part for me.
2019-02-14 19:19
I only use one but I have a 65 inch tv about two meters from my computer desk which I cast on or play twitch when games are on. It's great to have an option for browsing/gaming and watching at the same time.

I got 2x 2560x1080, before that had 3 times 24", before that 2x 24" and even befote that I dont even remember the size, once you get two, you will never go back to one, you just can't if you are really used to it. If you do something work related on PC like me its great, easier multitasking, but also for gaming its great, depending on what you play and windowed mode works properly, otherwise you still need to alt-tab.
2019-02-14 19:22
Depends a lot on what you actually use your PC for, if you literally just play games, especially by yourself and you only focus on your game. There's hardly any reasons to dual-monitor. But I think most people who have gotten dual-monitors are usually PC enthusiasts who enjoy just having more screenspace, it's very handy if you're multi-tasking or doing any type of project on your PC. That said, dual-monitor is a luxury and not a must, but since your 2nd monitor usually isn't used for anything important you could just get a cheap one.
2019-02-14 19:32
Yeah i literally only game and mostly by myself lol, guess im gonna just sell my 2nd monitor, thanks
2019-02-14 20:10
No problem, but I was under the impression you were considering buying a 2nd monitor, not that you already have one. I mean if you have a 2nd monitor why not just try having 2 for a while? You'll notice within a couple of weeks if you like it or if it's completely useless.
2019-02-14 20:16
To tell you the truth i cba plugging it in and trying it out as i thought there wont be much use for it.. also wanted to see what other people use their 2nd monitor for and so far from what ive seen, i still have the same opinion, that i wont be using it much
2019-02-14 20:27
I mean it's your monitor and all but sometimes you'll find uses for features you didn't think of, and other people can't think up for you. But when you already have the monitor and everything I really can't see a reason why you wouldn't at least try it since it won't directly cost you anything to even give it a shot.

Buying a second monitor was best investment I did
2019-02-14 19:32
It's nice. One for games/internet/movie. Other for streams/discord/chat/spotify. Not necessary though
2019-02-14 20:31
Its so underrated tbh, once you get second monitor you will feel so good, second monitor > expensive ass gaming gear except good mouse, coming back to 1 monitor after that feels so weird its actually hard to use PC xD feels so autistic.
2019-02-14 20:53
2 monitors = must have just try it, and u'll like it for sure

I run two. 144hz for gaming and a 60hz for discord, steam, twitch, chrome, and all that stuff
2019-02-14 21:00
Mega worth it for watching porn. If the girl starts eating the dude's ass on the other screen you can just watch the other for a minute. Also pretty good for all kinds of chats you might have open while playing a video game.
