Even if he is able to build the wall now, with a 40% approval ratio even from fox news, next democratic president can use a national emergency for him if he wants to. At this point I doubt he will win the next election, a democratic president from the left (Sander or aoc) looks like a pretty resonable guess to me. They both want to bring universal healthcare and fre college, both could bring that through easily. All that only if the takedown stands any chance in court ofc.

Not sure if you are paying attention to American politics, but, they have not been divided this far down the middle since the mid-1800s, right before, and during their first civil war. There is a blatant race war, among other things, brewing in the states, and it sadly will get ugly.
2019-02-18 14:49
Not really all that much, since in my opinion having a vote between two parties limits the choice that people are given. I won't comment on the race war and the whole civil war thing because honestly, I don't think it'll happen.

The water cannot keep boiling forever, the kettle must burst. A war has been brewing in the United States for the past ~10 years or so, said it a while back and I’ll say it again. Just look at the latest events, anti-white agenda everywhere. Look at what just happened with Jussie Smollet; paid two black men to stage an attack on him to then blame white trump supporters, clearly, to anyone with a functioning thought process, trying to incite racial violence. He knew exactly what he was doing.
2019-02-18 14:57
I'll respond to your reply in parts since it's easier to do. ”The water cannot keep boiling forever, the kettle must burst.” Unless your turn the heat off so the water can cool down. ”A war has been brewing in the United States for the past ~10 years or so, said it a while back and I’ll say it again. Just look at the latest events, anti-white agenda everywhere.” Not a citizen of the United States, nor am I in any way familiar with every little thing that happens. However, your media (or a decent amount of the media that a lot of people go to for news, examples being CNN, FOX, WSJ, NYT etc.) seems a tad bit biased towards either the left or the right. People naturally look at things they agree with because it validates their personal beliefs and opinions on certain matters. "Look at what just happened with Jussie Smollet; paid two black men to stage an attack on him to then blame white trump supporters, clearly, to anyone with a functioning thought process, trying to incite racial violence. He knew exactly what he was doing." Haven't heard about this. Not going to reply to what you said since I am again not at all familiar with what happened.

AOC is too young to run next term. I'm pretty sure Trump will win again and serve an 8 year term, but I guess we'll see. If one of the commies win they'll attempt to destroy the US and cause a civil war.
2019-02-15 20:25
from 40% approval on fox news, 70% acceptance on universal healthcare, 70% on legializing marihauna (all fox news polls so probably slightly right leaned) . The only way for him to win I see is if a moderate will win democrats pres. But anyways than a democrat will do it in 8 years.
2019-02-15 20:54
AOC is not a moderate and Bernie Sanders is the same way, both too socialist to win the presidency. The reason the dems have a low chance of winning the next election is that there is so many of them running and all of them are too far to the left to gain much support on the moderate democratic side. If you think a 40% approval rating is bad just wait until a socialist like AOC or Sanders or Kamala Harris is president, they will tax the hell out of people and get so little support from anyone but other far left democrats.
2019-02-15 21:00
That's what I said, I think a moderate Democrat would lose while a left wing Democrat like aoc and especially sanders would win. That is ofc my opinion and might be slightly biased by my media influence because of my rather left political position. We will see though. I am actually really interested in what happens.
2019-02-15 21:06
I am too, but I think the democratic party has way too many people trying to run and really need to cut it down to a few candidates.
2019-02-15 21:11
Holy shit you must be delusional or a sociology/gender studies major to think this actually holds any merit. AOC wouldn't be able to sway a single swing state and neither would Sanders. But keep reading them polls dude like they're peer reviewed journals or something.

The problem with socialist policies is that they look good on paper, but once implemented people realize they're inefficient. Universal healthcare would most likely be a disaster in the US due to the high population of the country, but hey, at least they'll be able to get high on weed and forget about their problems.
2019-02-16 02:56

I think a moderate would certainly have better chances than Sanders. Yes, Sanders is insanely popular among young voters. But young voters aren't the majority. You just tend to notice them more as they scream around on every opportunity. And lot of democrats also don't like AOC and her plans. If there is one thing Americans hate more than Trump, then it's commies. :) Trump is right to focus the public interest on Venezuela. AOCs plans are totally nuts. This has nothing to do with european style social systems, which indeed aren't socialist but rather capitalism with social systems on top. But even those are harder and harder to finance over time. The stronger the social system, the more people will exploit it.

The left constantly is against extra border security and a wall but then calls for Trump to do something about drug deaths and crimes in the US. If we don't stop the drugs from coming into our country then there is no point in trying to combat drug crimes from happening within our borders. They contradict themselves so much because they don't want to support a single thing Trump does and it shows.

So you mean they act just like republicans did when Obama was in office? With shut downs to stop things they don’t like. But I guess it’s somehow magically different in this case?
2019-02-17 11:28
-A vast majority of illegal drugs entering the US comes through ports of entry, though, not through gaps in the existing wall/fencing: "According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection statistics, 90 percent of heroin seized along the border, 88 percent of cocaine, 87 percent of methamphetamine, and 80 percent of fentanyl in the first 11 months of the 2018 fiscal year was caught trying to be smuggled in at legal crossing points." usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2019/01.. The downside of building the wall is spending billions of dollars on something that's not really that effective instead of spending that money on technology that can do the same job far more cheaply. Tunnels exist, overstaying your visa exists, sea travel exists, etc. I'm sure Democrats would support Trump if he followed through on, for example, an infrastructure bill, which he has discussed before. I don't know why he hasn't pushed it forward -- I think we can all get behind money to fix decaying roads and bridges, and it's an easy win for him. Why do you think Trump has never actually cared about an initiative like that?
2019-02-15 22:01
AOC wouldn't stand a chance. Maybe in 10 years. None of the democratic newcomers have a shot nor will they decide to run. Youngest I could see going up would be Tulsi Gabbard but it's more likely they'll pick an older established politician and in that case things look pretty 50/50.

also doesn't matter democrat, republican, both parties take money for open borders from koch brothers, aipac, big food, etc. that's why even though the vast majority of americans don't want open borders/want more border security, nothing will change, because there are no super PACs or lobbies paying our shit politicians for that to happen... so, fuck this country lol
2019-02-15 21:32
This country has been envenomed through severe corruption for 60+ years, and all our our major media outlets have been owned by just those very same people...
2019-02-17 13:08
It is more complex than you make it. This is being written from what Fox News calls a socialist country which they try to make out to be like Venezuela, yet the reality is social-democratic countries in many cases are some of the best places to live. Forbes ranks us as one of the best places in the World to do business, so clearly our universal health-care, free health-care, strong social security systems, ultra-low corruption... it just works. Also you know that American dream of yours. Guess what, social mobility is higher here so that dream is more a reality with us.
2019-02-17 11:38
Lots of places will go blue once the gerrymandering has been dealt with. That and the blatant moves of republicans to stop people from voting in the first place, that a law and order party will sink so low is sick - it is like something out of a banana-republic.
2019-02-17 11:32
lol you still don't get it - it doesn't matter, our congress has no real power as the politicians are bought by aipac and other big lobbies. also, on a side note, there would be very few liberal/democrat victories if mass illegal immigration hasn't taken place. california used to vote republican all the time, it's the reason nixon and reagan were able to be elected. now california will never vote republican for the rest of this country's history. and that's because of demographic change, legal and illegal

Trumps national emergency makes sense as he is trying to spin it as a humanitarian crisis to the people. if it in fact is deamed as a humanitarian crisis by the courts i believe it is legal within the constitutional right of him to do so. when the dems presumably try to use national emergency for "free" health care or "free" education, its gonna be alot harder as these are issues not explicitly found in the constitution and therefore a lot harder legally to push through

2019-02-15 21:50
It's a fucking theater dude. You shouldnt take it more seriously than GoT. Stop listening to politicians The only thing which matters is how they vote. Everything else only serve to confuse us to believe that we really need the speaker to help with greatly exaggerated problems. A politicians job is to solve problems. If there are no problems, they better make some up, or become redundant. The truth is that politicians never solve problems, ever. They appoint someone to solve them. They are utterly useless at anything but putting together (or have em put together) speeches. Yet they are doing a great job convincing a lot of naive people that they are "important". No offense intended. But I hope people will start realizing that watching news and reading news on major sites very rarely gives a clear, full or correct picture of what is really going on. PS. Newscasters are trained to act like they are speaking to 15-16 year olds, which is why they ooze of "I know better" . They know nothing, they are reporters, not journalists. True journalists, free to pursue whatever end they want, are ultrarare these days.
2019-02-15 21:51
yup if oyu go into politics at any party youre gonna leave behind 90% of the shit you actually wanted to do. you get trimmed to be like every other memeber of that political party. sad.
2019-02-17 01:50
To me it seems like you get trimmed to politics in general. In US, both major parties have a good handfull of top sponsors in common, it's always been like this. It's basically the same party with two different flavors.

2019-02-16 02:59
Aoc can't run for president she is not old enough. 35 is the age requirement. Also yeah if he goes through with this is sets an awful precedent, but also it will be challenged in the courts and congress
2019-02-16 03:08
Still he has set the precedent, so on that front it hardly matters if his move is blocked. The new norm is now that presidents can call "Emergency" as a tool for the re-election campaign and after doing so it is apparently an option to go golfing.

AOC is not old enough to be eligible for president, so that is a non starter.
2019-02-17 11:15
AOC in french means "brand from controlled origin" (like Champagne from Champagne region). I can't take it out of my mind when all of you use that : what is her controlled origin ffs? I won't bump on your dreams about Democrats as they cheat their way in DNC anyway. But indeed Trump moves since the start of the shutdown was an absolute disaster to him. Failing every step there was to fail. Now he just add another one by alienating against him all Republicans that were respectful of the Constitution's spirit. The very same people who supported him by respect for this very constitution. People that might have said "It wasn't my favorite candidate, but now he is our President according to the Constitution and we have to respect that".
2019-02-17 11:27
The absolute best case escenario for U.S would be if the bubble stays up untill Trumps end , he doesnt run for re-election , Bernie wins , and the financial and monetary Bubble explodes in Bernie's office , if Trump gets re-elected , the huge crisis coming U.S' way will be pinned to the right and capilitalism , I really hope he doesn't run for a 2nd term. Socialism needs to be put in place fully in U.S right before this bubble explodes and they fall into a worse crisis than the great depression , if we can pin that to socialism , maybe the world will learn how gross and destructive this is.

Silly young people who don't understand how politics work. The Republicans had the votes to do all of this before the last election and refused because they want the cheap labor. Democrats are completely corrupt and ignore the Constitution except when they can beat up Trump with it. Obama declared National Emergencies, in fact there are 31 National Emergencies still active right now. Trump is not the first president to do this. Please do some research because posting when you don't know the facts and watching only the news makes you look silly. Trump just last Thursday had a 52% approval rating from Reuters - not Fox. After his SOTU speech he had a 72% approval on building a wall.

A guy can be very smart, nice a great artist and write songs about the pain in the world but if the flag comes and another war he is ready to pick a gun. Also, he does it with proud. Totally irrational and against all other values the person have.

If AOC ever (or at least in the near future) makes it, it would truly be the end of days. We'd all be living in a giant meme.
