Alright, I will take this seriously. I can explain to you exactly, why you shouldnt buy a razer keyboard. Ill try to keep it "short", but for a proper answer It takes some time.
A mechanical keyboard (MK) is usually made of a few very simple components. The quality of the single components + the price are what we need to know, if we wanna judge a MK.
So we usually have the casing, the plate that connects everything, the switches and the keycaps.
So, we have alot of companies making MKs. Most use cherry switches, other uses cheaper switches such as Kalih, Topre etc. and others make "their own". Razer have "their own" switches. Note that I wouldnt be suprised if Razer switches are actually made by an outsourced company, that already builds switches anyways.
And here is the problem. The switches are kinda the most important part. They (+ keycaps) decide mostly how the keyboard feels. And Razer switches arent aprticulary cad, but compared to for example cherry, the buildquality isnt as good and quality control isnt as tight aswell. Meaning: the pressure you have to apply for a click to register can differ more on razer than it does with cherry (shouldnt be hard to find a video where someone tests the switches with a tool that measures the pressure).
So we are left with the case, the board and the keycaps.
Keycaps arent hard to make. Im sure razers keycaps are jsut as good as others, so we can leave that out.
Now the casing of most razer keyboards is solid overall, but due do crazier design, they can feel bulky and the chances of them breaking is definately higher.
the board isnt that important aswell. Even cheap works work perfectly fine and I would be suprised if razers boards lack anything.
Note that razer advertises all or most of their keyboards as waterproof. Well, matter of fact, almost every mechanical keyboard is that. You can clean most under water IF you give them enough time to dry (needs to be in a really warm place so the water can caporize asap.).
And now we can to the huge problem:
The price. For the price of a razerkeyboard you can EASILY buy a better one from whatever company. There is MANY, that offer good quality. Just make sure they use cherryswitches and good casing and I promise you, that you will find a better keyboard for the same price or a similar one for less money.
With companies such as razer, hyperx etc, you pay alot for the design, advertisement and the name itself. This applies to many things you can buy in life/as a gamer. Mouse, keyboard, headphones. For each product made by razer, you can find better stuff for the same price.
PS: If you want to see some deals from time to time regarding mechanical keyboards go to massdrops MK section:
They often sell amazing keyboards.
At the moment they have this nice keyboard for $70
