DAY 5 Major Challenger Stage Predictions
So we have:
Cloud9 vs Winstrike
(Cloud9 8th in world, Winstrike 28th)
Cloud9 looked shaky versus Furia and has looked shaky so far in the Challenger stage. However, many c9 players stepped up in the last map and played very well. I think that C9 will have to work hard to win this. Winstrike, on the other hand, beat fnatic in a bo1 and has looked decent. They also beat NiP convincingly 16-6, but lost to ENCE. Losing to ENCE was very close, and I hate to say it, but ENCE is a good team, and it's a fair enough loss. Compared to C9, I feel like they're less in firepower, but still have some. Matching them up in a head to head, I think it will be very close. Winstrike is going to pick D2, and probably win since C9 doesn't play it a lot. Cloud9 could pick Winstrike's 2nd worst map as well, and then it will come down to the decider. I'll say that it's a frag show and C9 come out on top in a close 2-1.
Now, onto NiP vs ViCi Gaming.
(NiP 14th in world, ViCi Gaming 35th in world.)
NiP are the heavy favorites and will get back to the major two times in a row if they win this. ViCi are the heavy underdogs and are a wildcard. They ran away with the map against C9, but lost to Vitality. They also pulled off an upset vs. fnatic. However, I think it's gonna be easy pickings for NiP. 2-0 NiP.
Lastly, we have G2 vs TYLOO. Oh boy this matchup
(G2 #18 in world, TYLOO 62nd. Jesus TYLOO's ranking is bad. However, they're much better than their rank says. They crushed C9 (rip) but lost 2-0 to both NRG and Avangar. They need to win this, but if they don't they would've started 2-0, but go out 2-3. G2 is looking solid so far. They beat fnatic and crushed them in the last map of the series. They lost to teams they should've beat, though. I think it'll be a 2-1, for who, however is difficult. I think G2 has the advantage, though. They'll beat TYLOO 2-1, and get out.
Cloud9 2-1 Winstrike (very close)
NiP 2-0 ViCi Gaming
G2 2-1 TYLOO (close)
