do you think they will win the major? yes or no i say no
2019-02-19 07:19
Hell, no!
2019-02-19 07:21
If the top seeds win their matches, then 1-0 will be MIBR vs Faze, and if mibr win, MIBR vs Astralis on 2-0 pool. harsh times

Oh, very bad for FaZe and Astralis, so.
2019-02-19 15:59
Ehhh no? You can’t say now that it will be this way if they win the first game...
2019-02-19 16:26
ofc its, cause the seed system. its simple to understand. 1-0 pool if the 8 top seeds win first game: Top 1 seed vs top 8 seed top 2 seed vs top 7 seed top 3 seed vs top 6 top 4 vs top 5. (mibr and faze). then on 2-0 pool we have top 1 2 3 and 4 seeds with 2 victories... then is top 1 vs top 4 and top 2 vs top 3

One mistake here, the current seeding only applies for the first round. After the first round their seeding updates based on their performance in the first round, i.e. team that went 16-1 would play team that went 16-14
2019-02-20 03:35
so is the seeding based on round difference?
2019-02-20 03:43
afaik, yes. If two teams get equal round difference though it'll come back to first round seeding
2019-02-20 05:33
hmm it's a bit tricky then. For sure winning a round in 1st vs 16th and 7th vs 8th would differ in terms of skills - it would be easier to get a round from the 16th team than you get from the 8th (in theory at least)
2019-02-20 08:03
Yeah, in theory if everyone plays to their supposed skill level it should be 1st seed vs 8th seed in the second round, since 1st seed would do like a 16-0 whereas 8th seed should win 16-14 against 9th seed. I like this format a lot, cause it means in theory if a weaker team steps up a lot they'll have it a little bit easier, i.e. every round they dont slip up counts. If mibr were to go 16-0 against their opponents, it's unlikely they'll be playing a strong team who also had such a scoreline.

Better comms, at least, for sure. And with "bad" comms they had great BO3´s against Astralis. So, the expectations are high. Otherside, first tournament. New coach. Hard to predict them. Maybe winners, maybe top 8, who knows.

TACO & fer are too low skilled compared to astralis/liquid/ faze players. IMPOSSIBLE for them. if they pray god enough they can reach semifinals, but they can't go further than that.

Fer is still a very good player and Taco is better than before. I believe the weak point is Felps. I trully believe they will be at least top 3. After smoke bug was fixed, Astralis will be a LITTLE less dominant, and MiBr and Liquid are the best teams to take advantage on Astralis fall.
2019-02-19 15:41
Do you really think that Astralis is going to suffer with the smoke bug fix? They are a well synchronised team, independently of smoke bugs. I hope that Astralis and Mibr can show their top game in this major.

I do, man! They've won some really important rounds and clutches because of gla1ve and Dupreeh smoke kills. Rounds that would end up different if the bug wasn't being used. 1 or 2 rounds make a huge impact in a close match and sometimes are enough to break the other team economy and morale. I'm not telling Astralis won the whole year because of that, but if they were 2 steps ahead of everybody, I believe that without the bug they would've been only 1 step. And that's a huge difference.
2019-02-19 16:48
cant blame u for believing in the team, thats what all BRS does, even if it makes no sense at all. like right now. fer is completely washed up at this point. "oh but razer ears now" - yeah, sure... aim is truly related to in game hearing, sure is. Dont u get it? every1 knows where and how fer plays, thats why it doesnt work anymore. fallen is still DECENT, but not on par with top tier awpers like guardian, dev1ce, s1mple... he is on par with nitr0, w0xic, etc... Also his strats sucks, thats why he stepped down from IGLing a while back. TACO lmao, I wont even try here. Kicked because of performance, comes back as a hero of the people, because he is funny and comes from northeast... felps. 1 entire year playing against tier2~3 teams and still not having success or dropping huge numbers, good luck with that btw.... coldzera is still reliable player, rarely looses aim duels and 1v2... almost same awping skills than fallen but fallen better positioning awpwise.. "but the communication is portuguese now huehue" yeah sure, like it was when they had boltz and started to decline heavily. Only positive thing is zews being back in the team, and thats where you have a valid argument. Because HE CAN make it work, depending on strat/anti-strat. CS is about strats and anti strat, structure, astralis showed that to the world. Trust me if the strats are not on point, MIBR won't even win against BIG.

+1 Hard to predict them. First tournament, new coach. Otherside, better comms than 2018.
2019-02-19 16:03
They also have a good record of great performances at their very first tournament with a new lineup(excluding the NA players ofc) Zews can teach them so much about their negatives,he beat them like a dozen times since he left SK. But Fallen and mainly fer have to perform really well if they want to do it.

Yep. My hopes for them are the good comms and zews. Maybe now they´ll have that good retakes again. We´ll see. I think the biggest problem for MIBR these "bad" times were - zews (bad comms, too, obv).

Lol, you probably dont know the format that is used
2019-02-19 19:52
i know its not the same but its possible to get lucky like gambot did
2019-02-20 12:22
Its possible everytime but its less likely. Its actually more likely that draws will be reasonable. Gambit got good draw but still, the win against Astralis, that were the best team there after defeating SK, is more than legit even tho they needed mou to go ham on overpass
