You can say that simple is not complicated meanwhile facile is not hard/not easy, there's a slight difference in the fact that sometimes you can't replace one by the other like "une feuille simple" means a normal paper because you can have different types of paper, so it's the most common one, but you can't replace simple by facile in that case. It also works for facile, we can say "fille facile" which is an easy girl, but using "une simple fille" has another meaning which is a not complicated girl.
