New Zealand SEVERELY_AUTISTIC_RETARD
My download speed drops randomly down to 400bytes/second, this happened just the other day, it is unbearable. I have done: Checked Drivers Checked for Disk throttling in task manager changed download location.\ Thanks.

How old are you? Torrenting is just a way to download stuff (usually pirating movies/music)
2019-02-20 07:24

Jesus christ I guess torrenting is a way if the past and everyone streams now [*]
2019-02-20 07:43
Well to be fair other countries have good Netflix, Amazon prime catalogues etc and their TV channels aren't complete fucking ripoffs like ours. So it's understandable if torrenting may not be as popular in NZ as it is in Australia.

what is the name of your ethernet card
2019-02-20 06:56
I have the same problem. Idk if it gets down to "400 bytes per second" but similiarly extremly low. The only thing to stop it is by reconnecting my router to get a new IP. Reconnecting my router always works for me. There are chrome extensions to do this with just a button click if you need.
2019-02-20 07:20
Can you do it without extensions and if so how?
2019-02-20 08:32
restart router xDDDDDDDDDDDD
2019-02-20 08:37
I have done this
2019-02-20 08:38
And didn't work?
2019-02-20 09:06
nope
2019-02-20 09:15
Thought it was an AU flag at first and I was about to click away (cuz AU has third world internet) My friend go to your router's gateway and monitor it. When the drop happens see if it's your network line or the router. If it's the line, contact your ISP.
2019-02-20 08:35
How i do this?
2019-02-20 08:38
>CMD >type ipconfig >look for 'Default Gateway' under Ethernet (or under the Wi-Fi adapter you use) >type that into your browser >login
2019-02-20 08:39

I used to have a similar problem, check your line to see if it could be fixed by getting a new cable, otherwise your router may just be on its last legs.

Not sure was AUS setup is like but in UK you plug router into the landline wall socket. Change the cable between the socket and router.
2019-02-20 10:24
We have that, thanks for help
2019-02-20 10:40
If you are getting low enough internet to the point you talk about bytes instead of kilobytes its time to contact your ISP

Okay before you do anything suggested you need to find what's causing the problem so: When your speed drops, is this across everything? You said you change your download location so I'm assuming this is in steam, are you still able to stream at 1080p when this happens (or any dl speed test really)? It could be your line if its universal and then the best solution is to call your isp and get them to check your line. If its nothing wrong with your line, replace your cables, leave your router off for 20 minutes, etc, etc. You should be able to solve it in an afternoon.

Not sure about 1080p but its good quality and i can still watch without is stopping, play games with fairly good ping;
