Feedback wanted.

I recently hit a 1v4 in less than 30 seconds using the awp and decided to edit it, I'm looking for feedback to help me improve editing. I'm looking to get a cleaner recording of the demo as the last kill is somehow bugged and the second one appears to be slower than the original. Recorded at 120 fps in OBS at 1920x1080 and 0.25 speed in game replay. I wanna make these tweaks above, but would appreciate any additional changes/ suggestions so I can get better at editing (I suck serious ass at it I know. Just makes me appreciate good editing more). For any who are wondering, it's a DMG/LE lobby

I also think my sync is ever so slightly off as well.

Sorry, no ideas for your edit but wanted to say I enjoyed the 1v4 Cheers

Try to look for another cc. Otherwise decent stuff. You can always discuss If u should choose another Music. Even tho I liked it. :)

Thanks! Here's the clip without any editing. I think it's better without lol

Yeah, I wanted to mention the music but I guess that's up to you, music you use should be music you like, it's your edit, your kills. My personal opinion is that rock fits the best for cs clips....this next clip was the reason I started playing seriously this game: hope you enjoy

Yeah, I was looking about going down a rock route (I love me some rock, from Zepplin to modern day), but I preferred something with a drop and something loud for the big green to sync with

I mean I don't know what a piece of advise I can give to you, but I really enjoyed your frag movie, m8. Keep up the good work.

Except for the gun positioning thing, looks good
2019-02-21 10:44
Yeah, that's just how I like my viewmodel, and added "fov_cs_debug 100" on top of it Thanks for the kind words :)

wow looks nice with obs! mine looks so bad xd. can you share us your settings?
2019-02-21 10:45
Settings Output -> Recording quality - High, medium size format - Mp4 (just for convenience when editing) Encoder - Hardware NVENC (this doesn't matter as I use a RADEON and NVIDIA card together, which is a new feature in directX 12) Video Output (scaled res) 1920x1080 - this is usually set lower automatically leading to crappy recordings Drop down menu for FPS values Fractional FPS Value - numerator 120 - denominator 1 Just take note that when recording gameplay, I played it back in csgo at 0.25x speed which enables a smoother frame rate and smoother slow-mo if it's needed
2019-02-21 11:22
wow that last bit is a nice touch well done <3 thank you for sharing!

No problem, go make something cool!

You could get HLAE to add camera angles. Also your syncs are currently very drawn out, maybe getting a faster song could help you maintain a good continuity. It is a good edit, Im just being nitpicky
2019-02-21 10:49
That's true, the frags themselves are a lot faster before editing so I might have a look into that. unedited footage is also on my YT just for comparison. Unfortunately last kill is bugged and has no audio + looks like aimlock rip
2019-02-21 11:24
you're right, your sync is slightly off the beat. agree with #12 that a slightly faster track could improve the structure. couldn't figure it out from the short clip but have you smoothed the demo? also, try to play around with some automated camera movement in 3rd person or some overview of the site, tracking your/the opponents movement before the first kill comes in.

Oh man, I'm a hardcore amateur. I'd love to do stuff like that and I might attempt it later <3

go for it man. there are tuts for everything. just dont let frustration get to you if somethings not working out imediately. its a learning curve. and its a form of art. almost anything is doable. just persue what you want to see in your movies

It's really nice to hear something like that. Thank you :)

visually a little bit boring also it took me 3 times to realise when u made the final kill, that was kinda unclear rest of it was pretty nice
2019-02-21 11:18
Yeah, final kill is bugged in the demo and it just looks like an aimlock with no sound lol Couldn't find a way to fix it, and yeah I get the boring visuals, but I'm not some crazy artist like the people who do this for a living.

Not many effects, music is b0ring, but that's just my taste. I liked black hole sun, introducing obey wolfy, both terminators from clicky crisp, clockwork 4, etc

use better clip

I enjoyed it though watching on my mobile data, was worth it. I would much prefer it tho if you put gun model on right side (even if you play on left), just because it is more "eye-friendly" to most (85%+ I guess) users who play with model on right side.
