+1, but i still think he's not a bad caster overall. that's the annoying thing HenryG seems to pessimistic about clutches unless it's well known player.
2019-02-21 13:47
I respectfully disagree - he has a LOT of knowledge, great hype... one of the best casters by far.
2019-02-21 13:43
for me its too much hype :D but i guess everyone likes different caststyles, like in football
2019-02-21 15:09
he is better than semmler,i always felt like semmler didnt know jack shit about cs and was just repeating after anders.

Was it HenryG who commented Liquid-NiP yesterday? Because that caster was hillariously wrong over and over again!
2019-02-21 13:19
You are talking about Pimp or machine?

Could be machine who said "touch that bomb, I dare you" less than 10 seconds before NiP won first round as CTs.
2019-02-21 13:30
Yes it was Machine.

He also got surprised by REZ playing Solo on A when Vitality did it a few days ago and AVANGAR and Winstrike have done it with "lesser" players last week
2019-02-21 13:31
Yeah Alex Machine isn't a CS expert at any level, he's just a host, he aslo hosts some Dota tournaments, i doubt he's an expert on either of those games.

But he should remember how teams played a few days ago and what strats are being "in the loop" right now?
2019-02-21 13:37
I doubt he watches games that much to be honest, at least he does not notice every signle detail or not detail when he watches games while browsing phone.

Yeah. Same thing as when someone got amazed by the "NRG Boost" on Mirage when they learned it the hard way facing Ghost. Don't really who it was that got so amazed by the 5-man Boost when they were the third top tier pro-team using it on LAN.
2019-02-21 13:41
??? How is that 'being wrong'? Nobody can know how that battle is going to end up, that's just him building hype and suspense..

It was just an example. He said it predictions about 10-15 times in that match and each one was wrong within seconds. They even started to laugh about it themselves after a while. "I don't see GeT_Right get out of this alive" went away with a 2k and 100HP. "Can they really match the duels against the likes of Twistzz" a second before Dennis outduelled Twistzz.
2019-02-21 13:36
Same stuff, by the numbers the advantage lies with whoever he was hyping up at that time. Like I said, that's storybuilding, he paints the picture for you, the situation they're currently in. Twistzz is an extremely good player with excellent aim, Get_Right was probably in a precarious situation. That's all they know for a fact at that point. If the end result is different, it is generally because of a play from the other team.

He is just building hype and storylines. CS is so fucking random at times, watch Bot B dry peek S1imple holding with an awp and just randomly headshot him, would casters be wrong if they predicted he would lose that fight? If this shit bothers you, I guess that's your prerogative, but in my opinion machine is a solid play by play caster.

it was Pimp and Machine, Machine is alright but Pimp...yrgh
2019-02-21 13:22
I assume the reason you don't like Pimp is because of his voice but i think his predictions were mostly correct and fair.

Could also be because he doesn't know what an Eco and Anti-Eco is. He called a full eco "anti-eco"... TWICE! I don't get how he is allowed to comment on Liquid playing. Isn't he a bit too bias?
2019-02-21 13:32
Maybe you are correct but i think Pimp made some solid predictions and criticisms in that game, for example when he called out Rez on mistake when he rushed A long. I also liked point he made afterwards when he said that some players make poor decisions but their skill saves them.

Yeah. Some things were good. I like some of his example since he used to play on this level.. But he needs time to analyze each moment and often talk "too soon". Perhaps not as much commenting the matches as when he is at the analyst desk. He can elaborate quite much about why something is good or bad and that is his job and he do more than an adequate job
2019-02-21 13:39
Pimp spoke too much imo. Machine & pimp easily the worst casting duo, havent muted a csgo game for a long time until yesterday.

They were quite fun. But if you're new to CS i guess they're horrible... or if you want someone to actually do good casting
2019-02-21 15:41
nah they are shit. btw played for 15 years. there are way better casters eg. anders, moses, vince etc

I didn't say they were good, i said they were quite fun. From an entertaining pov they are good since they are rarely correct about anything.
2019-02-21 15:56
He's not a caster nor does he pretends to be one? they just let them do it for the sake of doing it if you know what i mean, he will not be an issue for the more important games.

2019-02-21 13:53
LMAO i fucking hate that by now, he keeps saying it over and over again
2019-02-21 15:45
Well I mean since most of you guys in here are experts, and got way more experience within the game.. Why do you need these casters to tell you whats happening? Also, if your concern lays within making sure the less experienced gets to know whats going on, then what are you waiting for? You're on hltv.org typing during work hours, means you aint got no job (in most cases) Just throw in that application right now and get yourself a job!
