Liquid - MIBR major final discussion
 |
Belgium KevinGatesYo
From watching this tournament you can tell it’s a possibility Why? Let’s say Astralis and mibr end up facing other in the semis (which likely will happen) -Astralis and MIBR have been a really close matchup towards the end of 2018, and it was very close too when they had a full Brazilian lineup. -MIBR doesn’t play Nuke -The addition of taco, felps and zews brought their chemistry back (Cloud9 destroying mibr in the 1st match was a one off) -They will probably play inferno (really close match between these 2 team and even when mibr was shit) -Astralis have been shaky on train and mirage, good maps for mibr -fer had an amazing match vs NIP, if he can keep that level they are really scary -coldzera is on god mode again Liquid are the biggest favorites to make the final out of any team at playoffs, looking really solid. If we get liquid vs mibr in the final how do you think that match will pan out? It’s kind of an wildcard because mibr were always destroyed by Liquid last year but now they have a different lineup #discuss

If MIBr reach the final... i think MIBR can win this match... but closer.. The past of MIBR and Liquid its not easy... but liquid always have an "fear" about brazillians cuz in the past,,, LG/SK crash liquid's squad soo much... i don't know.. lets focus in astralis... cuz they are the god of the gods.

The only way mibr could beat astralis is if Cold, fer and Fallen peak at the same time. Otherwise, there's no chance.
2019-02-25 14:06
Felps needs to peak

And they lost to Astralis at the same tournament o:

Astralis are strong but they aren’t at their best anymore, mibr matches up really well against them imo. No way a superteam like that would work, players egos and language barrier would be a problem and their chemistry wouldn’t be as good as Astralis’ only skill can’t take you that far.

MiBR matched up against them very well. It was mostly because the only thing YNK was focusing on was anti-stratting Astralis. This is a new team, that didn't even play with Astralis yet, you cannot talk about matchups in 2018

Yeah, they played some close matches/maps with Astralis with magisk (sometimes they would be destroyed like 16-0) but overall their matches were close they had many maps where they would lose 16-14 and hit double digits while no other team could do that as consistently

We have no idea what MIBR’s map pool looks like atm, and I think Renegades will be happy to go for a potential punish pick, like Cache, or Inferno where MIBR aren’t that great as far as I’ve seen; they lost against C9 and would have lost against G2 if Cold didn’t carry. Mirage is a likely third map and RNG are good there. I think it will be much closer than most people think if RNG don’t buckle under the pressure of Major playoffs. At no point did I say 100% that MIBR lose btw.

Mibr map pool can’t be that much different from their previous lineup, their strongest maps are probably train, mirage and inferno. Well it happens mibr are fortunate enough to have a player like cold on the team to save them on times like that and he’s always been a monster on inferno. Mirage is a good map for both teams, probably gonna be the best map of the series. The main reason I say renegades isn’t going to beat mibr is because they aren’t as experienced than mibr and will feel uncomfortable on such a big stage
2019-02-26 03:11
train overpass cache lul ?

I agree in parts, the nip came close to the mibr on the map of hell, but the game was 2x0, same thing with g2. it can not be said that because of 1 raund badly done by nip, that could be converted, they would take that md3.
2019-02-25 23:20
Both teams' economies were on a knife edge and would have been hard reset going into round 30, so in all likelihood NiP would win the map. Mirage would have been a toss up at that point but as I said, it doesn't matter anymore.

it would be a very interesting game to watch since mibr now has the coach that led liquid to where they are. theres also the fact that liquid now has stewie, who seems to be the winner and pressure valve liquid needed not to choke, but he praised mibr guys and may not be ready to win them. this and quite a few more peculiarities would make this game very interesting to watch, for me at least.

these arguments doesn't mean nothing dude. Astralis got rekt by North 16-1 last year, and MiBR destroyed North a few days after that. Does this means that MiBR is better than Astralis? Ofc not. There's no logic in what you're saying.

I'm not saying MiBR will beat Astralis, I'm just saying that these arguments he used are irrelevant. UAHWUHAW The last time they have beaten Astralis was last year in a bo3, at ECS. 22nd November.

They actually did beaten Astralis on a BO3. The brazilian core played the hell out of them. Tarik and Stewie were like -10 or something, while Fallen & Co got around +36 in general.

MIBR easy win 3th major
2019-02-25 15:02
MIBR can beat Astralis, especially in the veto. MIBR don't play Nuke so that's a pro for them already, Astralis' Mirage is quite weak atm and MIBR had a pretty nice t side vs compLexity and historically were pretty good on this map so they could easily pick that vs Astralis. Then either Astralis would pick into MIBRs weakness and go for an Inferno or they go for a map they are more comfortable on like Dust2. The last map would be a 50/50 since it would be either Overpass or Train, Astralis have a strong overpass but Na'Vi have been able to roll them on this map before and historically MIBR was also good on this map and MIBR so far looked pretty on point on Train however so have Astralis so that matchup should at least be a 50/50 depending whether it goes to Overpass or Train. MIBR should 100% try avoid playing Inferno as the last map.

Mibr Inferno is quite strange, they sometimes look like garbage on that map and other times they look like they can play really well and coordinated, also their matchup on inferno with Astralis is always close, which is even more weird.

well krakow 2017 everyone picked sk winning and at the end gambit won vs immortals if mibr prove themselves against renegods they have a real shot
2019-02-25 15:42
renegades are nothing compared to NAVI Liquid and Astralis, but nice try.

I think anything is a possibility right now. Astralis dropped a map already(how often does that happen) plus played all the weakest teams so far. Liquid had some close games except againts Navi(destroyed them) Ence looks alive right now Faze still looks bad(close games againts worst teams) Navi still need simple carry Mibr looking good RNG can they keep it going? Nip can Forrest and Rez keep it going???? I still say liquid vs Astralis final but it’s going to be close games and maybe even a upset.

Mibr's playstyle is good against Astralis, but not so good against Liquid... I think that even Mibr winning Astralis, they won't beat Liquid, unless they get really hyped up by beating Astralis
2019-02-25 18:02
the cant even beat NAVI, how would they beat astralis or liquid... stop being a bit delusional astralis dominated the group stage and entire 2018. The team is the same, MIBR changed and had little time to settle. calm down dude, this is not 2017. Also, stewie2k and tarik are better individual players than both TACO and felps.
2019-02-25 19:47
MIBR have a solid shot of winning on inferno, on that map cold is an absolute beast.
2019-02-25 18:04
RNG bans overpass MiBR bans nuke RNG picks mirage MiBR picks train MiBR bans cache RNG bans d2 INFERNO 2 - 1 RNG , nice try @KevinGatesYo
2019-02-25 18:14
thats actually very very likely to happen.

I want to believe you! But I have seen MiBr be favorite and lose so many times, that I will just wait.
2019-02-25 19:22
it would be ez for mibr coldzera in god mode is unstoppable
2019-02-25 19:23
coldzera in god mode lmao. coldzera in super god mode can't carry 5 players against a 5 player performing at top level like astralis.

Nobody noticed but Fallen picked inferno against NIP cuz they're probably hiding their map pool, we didn't see them playing almost any map atm, I really think they're saving and hiding smth to beat a team like Astralis, and probably we'll see only maps that mibr already played so far in this tournament against RNG, train, inferno and mirage probably
2019-02-25 19:40
only map they could possibly win against astralis is train. But i doubt it.

2019-02-25 19:55
its not because renegades did it that mibr will also do it. I dont see MIBR with a strong mirage. NAVI has strong mirage and still didnt beat them often. Same goes for Liquid. Please dont put MIBR in level terms with NAVI and LIQUID because they are not.
2019-02-25 19:53
navi? i dont think put na'vi and liquid in the same level aswell... na'vi x mibr could be anyone to win this match

"Liquid are the biggest favorites to make the final out of any team at playoffs, looking really solid." What?? Astralis?
2019-02-25 20:50
So glad MIBR is finally climbing back. Biggest change I've seen is that Coldzera looks like the familiar god we knew in 2017. There is hope :)

The only aadvantage I can see MIBR having over liquid is Zew's knowledge of the team like he had when going against SK when he was in Lquid
2019-02-25 21:16
Very good analyzed. +1
2019-02-25 21:17
depends on MIBR's map pool really.... i'd imagine they're going to ban nuke bc astralis is like 50/0 on that map right now, so they're already behind the ball a little bit astralis has the deepest map pool in the game right now. map veto is going to be very important
2019-02-25 21:26

Yeah but C9 isn’t a strong train team, they tried to play on a map Astralis aren’t strong instead of playing a map they are good at.

MIBR in 2019 will never reach its peak in 2016-2017 because I feel as if other teams are more motivated and eager to win than MIBR. They’ve won before.
