I wanted to check how much my knife is in euroes. so I went on cs money its a site I used a lot. apparently I clicked on a fake wanna be cs money that copied everything from them. and when I came to trade it to my friend I first had to do authenticator shit. when I opened my phone the og trade was canceled and a fake trade that copied all of his stuff was there..... I quickly accepted and later that day when he msg me asking when will he get the knife I realized my mistake
I mean I've never got scammed yet, but in fact, there are many possibilities how scammers may scam you, if you aren't aware enough. Even smartest people sometimes get in dumb situations. Don't think you are above someone, mr. Capitalist.
This is one of the most common scams. Yeah I got scammed by this once and I never fell for it again. Tips for preventation include using some shit 2c skins in the trade so that the scammer can't send you a fake trade offer. Or just told them you submitted the trade offer, but don't actually submit anything to the site. Then if a random offer comes through the guy is a scammer. Sucks, but Steam can't help you here. Sorry :/
