Most Potential Wasted in CSGO
device |
United States ChrisJisverytoxic
Which CSGO player do you think had the highest potential but never turned it into anything (Not including ex-iBP players/cheaters/any other match fixers as their own choices ruined their career and they have no one else to blame but themselves) I think it's: HiKo (best NA player for 2ish years, never won a single event, not even a t2 event) Finished 2nd at multiple t1/t2 events including a major Had the MLG major in the bag, his team then performed the most imfamous choke of all time to LG, they likely wouldve beaten NaVi next since guardian was injured who was their hard carry. Had a promising career in c9, but they could never compete with the top EU teams since BOT Semphis and BOT seangares Had a very promising career in liquid, couldve won 2 majors, couldve won many other events aswell if it werent for choking, career fell apart so quickly after s1mple left

2019-03-11 15:46
lol +1, he can only blame himself tho perhaps i shouldve changed the title to "Most feel bad player in csgo" sorta like wasted potential but due to reasons that were sorta unavoidable at the time (choking, missed oppertunities, bad luck) not including (death threats, throwing, cheating)

i guess shroud could have been alright if he had put effort into his playstyle but then again that was kinda on himself.

he won EPL s4, thats something

to add another brazilian to the list: fnx the clutch god. If only he wasn't such a fuckboy
2019-03-11 15:48
2 majors and a top 20 doesnt seem to be wasted potential he was carried by cold anyways
2019-03-11 15:48
his stats was better than cold in earlier 2016's, but he stopped practicing and giving a fuck to the game. The guy is a fucking legend!
2019-03-11 22:57
From Denmark its Konfig.
2019-03-11 15:48
at least he won epicenter and took the mvp, as well as a top 20 i agree he couldve done more but he has something under the belt
2019-03-11 15:49
true and he is still playing on a decent level and is only 21 years old. Maybe he can make a come someday.
2019-03-11 15:52
+1 to a point i forgot with k0nfig any player younger than 24 shouldnt be mentioned, since they still have time to do something i.e s1mple, k0nfig

also, as bad as the rest of NaVI is compared to s1mple, I wouldn't say his potential is wasted when the 2 teams ranked above NaVi are both national teams and I'd argue FaZe wouldn't improve with him as FaZe has other issues than firepower.
2019-03-11 16:08
there are so many things wrong with calling s1mple's career wasted that I dont even know where to begin to start i feel like nowadays ppl think if s1mple doesnt become the goat then he is a bust imagine 3x top 10, 2x top 5, 1x top 1 8x mvp cologne winner at the age of 21
2019-03-11 16:10
He decided to be toxic and arrogant, he is where he belongs to be
2019-03-11 18:49
shox is toxic too, given how his teams always fall apart shox claiming that north is toxic isnt proof of anything
2019-03-11 18:50
What shox has to do with this????
2019-03-11 18:51
didnt shox say "we dont like north because they are kind of toxic and arrogant"
2019-03-11 18:51
Idk but Konfig had multiple interviews/tweets where he was clearly arrogant/toxic so their is nothing to prove there

and? had potential to be a top 5-10 player but bought into the mentality of being a support player, only did insane shit on pugs, if he performed as well consistently on lan, he would've won way more events.
2019-03-11 15:55
he never had that potential, he never made a top 20, he is prob the biggest onliner of all time

then ur definition of potential is flawed
2019-03-11 16:02
Potential: having or showing the capacity to become or develop into something in the future. Shroud never went a consistent period of time showing he could perform on LAN ur bias is exposed

he had the potential to transform his insane gameplay from online to lan which he never unleashed, making it wasted potential, that's my take on it.

s1mple, loser never won a major and never will
2019-03-11 15:51
he won cologne, literally a baby step back from a major, also isnt he like 20 or 21
2019-03-11 15:52
jw is 24 and has 3 majors, all im saying is he has not won anything despite being in his prime
2019-03-11 15:54
just because s1mple doesnt have 3 majors doesnt mean he is wasted potential, also 21 and 24 is a big difference, imagine what s1mple could do in the next 3 years if he leaves navi
2019-03-11 16:00
troubley
2019-03-11 15:51
S1mple for sure, being stuck on Navi with 2 bots and 1 inconsistent player in flamie.
2019-03-11 15:57
21 years old, too young to decide yet
2019-03-11 16:00
I mean he was stuck on flipside and hellraisers before joining liquid. Then carried liquid to a major final.
2019-03-11 16:02
wouldnt say he carried liquid but he was certainly their best player, remember that elige peaked hard during cologne and then fell off until 2017 when his prime restarted until now also u cant say his career is wasted potential because he didnt waste it at all, 21 years old and already top 1 with 8ish mvps and a cologne victory, give him 2 more years and a new team and he'll been fine in the achievements department
2019-03-11 16:04
I'm sure he will later but as of right now its wasted talent. You are right about Elige, he did do very well. If navi didnt have s1mple they wouldn't be anywhere near the top 20 teams.
2019-03-11 16:06
i can give u an analogy to prove my point do u watch the NBA or NFL?
2019-03-11 16:09
I do not lol. But I understand basketball much more than football so ill try to follow along.
2019-03-11 16:09
CS relevent years 19/20 ------> 25/26 NBA relevent years 20/21 ------> 33/34 s1mple in terms of nba players would be about a 24 year old coming off of his rookie contract would u call a 24 year old a bust because he never won a championship even tho he has an MVP under his belt? (#1 of 2018 counts as an NBA MVP)
2019-03-11 16:12
I understand your point, but if the best basketball player in the world is on a terrible team and cannot win anything, I would say its wasted talent, regardless of age.
2019-03-11 16:15
He's like anthony davis rn or a young KG or a young LBJ once he leaves for a better team this talk of his career being wasted will stop, point is he is way to young to be judged rn
2019-03-11 16:16
Well by that statement you think it is a waste, you said once he gets a better team he wont be wasted talent anymore, meaning that it was at one point.

Ex6TenZ, had he joined another tier 1 team earlier he may have been able to adapt to the system better and then there’d be a real IGL in the French Belgian scene
2019-03-11 16:03
+1 way better IGL than shox and happy although both shox and happy were 10x better fraggers sorta like the NiKo karrigan situation rn correct me if im wrong but he never won a single t1 event in his carrer dispite playing with the likes of prime kenny, prime shox

In source he won countless events, however in GO he did win some when he was in VeryGames at the start, but from 2014 onwards yeah he never won another tier 1 event. FeelsBadMan Titan did actually look like they could win something until KQLY got banned
2019-03-11 16:09
i hope we can agree on the fact that source is the least significant out of 1.6, source, and GO beyond that, i agree with ur other points

Oh of course, I’m just acknowledging that he was a candidate for the GOAT in CSS. Much like one would respect markeloff for his heroics in 1.6 even though he is trash in recent years, you gotta respect the level at which Ex6 fell from when transitioning to GO
2019-03-11 17:17
dispite playing with the likes of prime kenny, prime shox because he is overrated. source was literally the least competitive cs ever and he got like you said shox, kennys, scream. i dont think he could be a better igl when he started earlier. he still got many years to follow the scene and train, but as we could see g2's performance with him as igl was garbage.

The Ex6TenZ SmithZz G2 project is fools gold for an Ex6TenZ hater imo. I mean you had SmithZz and bodyy dropping <10 kills every single game, even gla1ve couldn’t‘ve made it a good team. While yes their strats were a joke, i wonder if Ex6 would’ve converted into new cs meta better if he had some quality pieces to work with (unfortunately for him Kenny was at career worst form and shox was still in the mindset of IGL) P.s. for my thoughts on source not being competitive regard #108
2019-03-11 17:22
While yes their strats were a joke yes, they played garbage cs and you can blame the igl for that.

2019-03-11 16:14
explain them, i dont follow t2/t3 too closely, or at all, not as knowledgeable as u on this matter
2019-03-11 16:14
Of course, sorry. nooky was the best German CSS player, representing mTw. Coming into CS:GO he immediately became the best German CS:GO player and was IGL at mousesports, who consisted of allu, tabsen, chrisJ, legija and nooky at this time. This team never unfolded it's potential, only allu and nooky were performing consistently. OnlineJ was still pretty much a thing back then and tabsen wasn't on the level he is today. After they lost to Planetkey Dynamics (nex, troubley, struxi, stavros, alexRr) at the German EPS finals the second time in a row (gob b was coaching them this final), the management of mouz decided to start the team over, kicking everyone exept chrisJ, nooky and legija, to start the first German full time squad. Gob b became the first ever German player to sign a full time contract and given the task to build a new team. The team should have been gobb, nooky, chrisJ, legija and troubley, but nooky instead decided to pursue his studies and went on to university and stream, even though he was the best German player at this time. He still occasionally proofed this, as he stood in for mouz and penta for some games, allways on top of the leaderboard. Penta even tried to sign him into their majortop8-team, when they let go of struxi as igl, but he had no interest. Him out of the team left gob b to sign his old friend zonixx instead. Now, nooky pretty much gone, left troubley as the best active German. He was still pretty young and has been a prodigy in the scene since 1.6. However this team didn't perform as intended, and troubley, who allready had a reputation of being toxic as hell, was kicked from gob, after he tried to take over the igl role midgame from him. Gob later stated this incident as "the little prince trying to overthrow the king". Now troubley was free to sign another contract and so he did. He signed with Penta, who still had their major top 8 spot at this time and was replacing struxi as igl. They did pretty well and got another top 8 spot at the following major and there were no doubts that troubley was the best performing player of them, even while ingame leading. However this was when his toxic behaviour got in his way another time, leaving the team no choice but kick him, because he was bitching the f out over nothing all the time and the team couldn't take it anymore. Troubley then was on the lookout for another new team and decided to stand in for a small (even in Germany unknown team) at copenhagen games. They later stated that he was the worst teammate of all time. He didn't talk to anybody more than he had to, because he was thinking he was better then them ( of course he was, but wtf man), only played LoL before, between and after the matches and was just toxic all the time. After this word got out, he was never again signed by any team in Germany, leaving him no choice but drop out of the scene. He tried to become a LoL-Pro after, but failed of course and then was just gone, until recently an article came out, that a homeless German ex-pro player is harassing people on the street in a Danish city. There you have your former best German CS:GO player, being homeless instead of making a shit ton of money for gaming, just because was toxic af. German cs in a nutshell. Sorry for my bad English, but I tried. There have been incidents with troubley before, like when he was in love with tiziaN and stalked him at night until he had to take legal action against him and all sort of sick shit. nooky never again played professional. He just streams from time to time and does "a normal" job,

1.) yes 2.) what? major? 3.) what? major? major mvp? 4.) yes, but im talking about a career as a whole in CSGO 5.) same with 4, also scream was a bot after 2016
2019-03-11 16:46
2) even major after the kick from envyus shox was in a tought period and if he didn't get kicked could have done much better and even a second major 3) kennys wasted like 3 years since the major in french scene should have moved on he's still young tho 5) i think what happened to scream is same as shox with envyus it's normal that he was a bot after

Cogu, absolute legend in 1.6 but never repeated at least 1% of his skills in cs go. zqkS. This guy is former from Keyd Stars, when the brazilians get some attention in cs scene (He played with Fer, Fallen, Steel, Boltz, but after... Only steel and boltz could get some t1 team (Liquid, SK, LG) he is the one that doesn't reach anything BIT1. ''Legend'' from the MIBR team in 1.6, at cs go seems not a bit good as him was. LUCAS1 and HEN1. I dont know what happens with them, but moments of indiscipline, turn this 2 prodigy guys into almost retired players. Now they are in LG, losing for some t10 teams

What happened with Cogu in CSGO? he didnt like it and couldnt adapt or how? Ive seen some clips and he was pretty good in 1.6
2019-03-11 18:56
I think it's the two things that you said, we didnt see him so much, and the times that we saw cogu don't make graceful things like 1.6 cogu would.
2019-03-11 20:27
FNX, MARKELOFF, for sure Markeloff never adapt very well to go and refuse to play with awp for so long, idk why, and FNX, losing him is such a bad thing for the power of Brazil scene, since he sometimes was even better than fer and others, just look this graphic in 2006 and see youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=hM1_..
