Countries you've personally gone to compared to your home?
 |
United States codgun
How many countries have you gone to? How different were they compared to your home and how good we're they on a scale of 1-10 or 0-8? If you've never visited another nation, list how many provinces, states, or regions you've gone to and do the same thing.

Hi Kind regards
2019-03-18 09:29
In what areas is Germany 30 years in front of Denmark?
2019-03-18 09:39
Every. You can even notice it if you just drive trough both countries
2019-03-18 12:03
Example on something?
2019-03-18 12:06
Technology, Economy, Traffic, Industry, Sports, Music ... like basically everything?
2019-03-18 14:45
You can't say every. Besides, Germany is very conservative which in many ways can be looked upon as being 'behind' and not in front.
2019-03-18 12:10
Yeah, that's why Denmark took so many refugees and not Germany lol ...
2019-03-18 14:44
Are you serious german took way more refugees than Denmark get your facts straight. And Germany in front of what Highways? Most people out of capitals cities have like 10/5mbit connections
2019-03-20 23:46

2019-03-18 20:44
dear god...bringing up astralis vs big just proves my point... thats the only thing you consider being better than germany? thats sad my friend :) again saying, im not even german so...
2019-03-18 20:46
Handball? .. No but bs aside, Denmark and Germany is actually VERY different countries. Just your population itself is 14 times bigger than ours. I would like a more nuanced view in this discussion since both countries are pretty great western societies - which is one thing we definitely have in common :)
2019-03-18 20:53
dude its not my country. im not german :) i told you but you didnt read...I lived in denmark for 3 years and now im in germany 3 years already... thats my personal opinion, but you can ofc disagree. I guess all kinds of different stats are on my side but ok...

LOL. Never heard anything as stupid as this. Germany is one of the biggest and strongest countries in the world. Denmark is nowhere near the top. Why are we even talking about this?
2019-03-19 02:34
Denmark is ahead of Germany in quality of life, education and healthcare just to name a few. "Biggest" and "strongest" does not really say all that much.
2019-03-19 02:52
quality of life lol ... you can only go kill yourself from depression in scandinavia
2019-03-19 02:53
If I'm not mistaken, i think Denmark is ranked 1 in happiness as well, so I think they will be fine.
2019-03-19 02:57
well...you can say whatever you want...as I said, I lived in both countries for 3 years each, and it's like comparing Fiat car with Mercedes ...but its ok if you consider fiat better...

Germany population 82.79 million / 38 million = 2.18 times more population than visitors Denmark population 5.749 million / 4 million = 1.45 times more population than visitors Compared to population Denmark is a far more popular tourist attraction. Comparing raw numbers is like comparing switzerland or belgium to france.
2019-03-18 01:21
Yes but population doesn't affect the number of tourists, right?
2019-03-18 03:40
cant explain that to denmarko. statistics lol
2019-03-18 03:53
Size of country and population definitely does affect tourist stats. There's just more things to see.

The vatican has an area of 0.44 km2 (about the size of my ass) and a population of 1000. Around 5 million tourists visited the country in 2011. Size and population isn't an excuse. It's either interesting to visit or not.

Germany sucks but its better then UK wtf is that ratingen?
2019-03-19 02:08
This is not for how good the country is but on how good it is when visiting them. Germany is lots of fun and also UK i felt UK was a slightly better place for visiting (i have only visited London). Sure i was too nice on Turkey. But the country was amazing and beautiful with awesome food. The reason i rated Pakistan the second highest after UAE was because i just love it. The reason is: 1. Hospitality: People their are really nice and welcoming. Everyone wants to invite you to a cup of tea or just welcome you to Pakistan. They also don't take any payments and say it would dishonor them. 2. Scenery, landscape and cities. Some parts of Pakistan is just amazing and even better than Switzerland. If you search up Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Kalam, Deosai, Nathiagali, Madyan, Gwadar, Kumrat valley and just other parts of Khyber Paktunkhwa and other mountain regions the scenery is amazing. Then we have one of the most beautiful captials in the world Islamabad. It's amazing just like another LA style city. 3. The food. The Pakistani food is the most amazing food you will ever taste. Like honestly it has all the good cusine in Asia. In the east you will find Indian/African cusine. In the south you will find Arab cusine and in the west Iranian cusine. It really has all the food and OFC it's famous for it's amazing kebab. Chapli, sis kebab and biryani are amazing dishes that are a most to taste.
2019-03-20 17:50
Thanks for this
2019-03-21 12:06
Most interesting post here. Lots of things I didn´t know. Normally you only hear shit about Pakistan, and many pakistanis I meet in Copenhagen has very little positive to offer. But I also meet pakistanis with a modern mindset. Is there a big division between modern and old in Pakistan?
2019-03-22 14:02
Yea definetly. Most of the Pakistanis you surely meet follow the Western media which only talks crap about the country and just hasn't visited the country. I have read and learn about the country and it's truely amazing. The more you study the more you will love it. Also for 10 years ago Pakistan was like a safer Iraq. The country was really not far and had no economy and terrorism was spread across the nation and the corruption was crazy. The only good thing was their military. Anyway many people still think Pakistan is like it was before that's one of the many reasons.
2019-03-22 17:54
Forgot UAE 9/10
2019-03-17 13:54
UAE, pakistan? LMAO , only for visit if you are an women citizen in this country you would less rate
2019-03-17 18:19
The media does a bad job of showcasing how it truely is in those countries. Women aren't missthreated the only thing i see which i've seen in middle eastern and Arab culture for a while is forced marriages nothing else.
2019-03-17 19:07

2019-03-20 17:27
PAKISTAN? HAHAHA wtf you're crazy dude
2019-03-20 19:02
I'm sorry if you're knowledge is low. But Pakistan has one of the strongest air and grounde forces in the world with the best nuclear programme and will have more nukes than China in 2020 making it 3rd after Russia and USA. BTW Pakistan military is ranked from 5-13 depending on opinion and comparisation while Israel 15-20. Do your research Arabs are enough to destroy your country but with the help of Iran and Pakistan it will disapear.

I think you don't know that you're in a war with a poor country with basically nothing. How many Palestinans died by Israeli forces kill? How many innocent lifes have you taken? The're is a reason that everyone in the world including jews around the world are against Israel. They are the ones killing.
2019-03-20 17:29
how many Palestinians sent their kids with guns to die against Israel? answer that please
2019-03-20 19:02
I don't think you understand. You're country started the conflict by killing innocent Palestinians and then after that take their ground. What would be the normal reaction to it? To be mad wouldn't it? They where mad and suffering. So they started to protest since they don't have any weapons and isn't strong. What did then Israel do? Instead of controlling it by not killing. They went full hardcore and killed every Palestinians they could see. Just look at the border. So Palestinians are trying to fight back on just any way possible for them. The world is against Israel and standing by Palestine check the facts.
2019-03-20 20:41
i don't think you understand, you're an arab and you're fed by lies by your governments so they can continue being dictatorships and fuck you over, and you believe them like the sheep you fuck.
2019-03-20 21:46
Pakistan is not Arab first of all. It is assoicated and many of it's people have it's heritage from Arabs. Second of all i haven't even read what people have wrote in the Middle east at all. I have followed sites from Europe. They are against you. Saying exactly what i said. EVEN THE JEWS IN EUROPE ARE BURNING THE ISRAELI FLAG KNOWING ON WHAT THEY ARE DOING IS WRONG. IT'S EVERYONE EXCEPT TRUMP AND THE REST OF ISRAELIS THAT ARE BLINDED BY EVERYTHING.
2019-03-20 22:21
of course "palestine" isn't Arab, there for the claim of Arabs who are originally from saudi is irrelevant. the only people burning Israel flags in Europe are arabs get lost... if you think you know more about someone than him himself you're retarded.
2019-03-20 22:54
I never said Palestine is not Arab. Pakistan is not Arab. Many of the Pakistanis are Arabs but not enough to be Arabs. Arabs are people from Saudia Arabia thats the thing about Arabs. I may repeat that Jews from Israel are burning the flag youtube.com/watch?v=GJnXX_d7QBU You should keep doing on what you're good at. Which is killing innocent people.
2019-03-21 17:03
they are not Jews from Israel, they are retarded ultra orthodox Jews that contribute nothing to society, they are 0.01 percent of Jews. Israel never intended to kill innocent people, hamas did, how then do you condemn Israel but not Hamas? shows Muslim IQ. youtube.com/watch?v=BC9GlA55sCI look there is many muslims too that love israel, most of the Muslims i personally know love Israel, its you who are told propaganda by dictators, you guys are the only one believing in Lies

But others, like pollution in some cities (mostly nothern cuz most coal-based electricity plants and iron industries exist there), and people's behaviour, really make sense. Chinese ppl's quality is varied, basically divided by education/local economy/regional culture. U can get from news that there are ppl evading taxes, drunk driving, deadbeating (while they can afford it) and occupying others' seats on a train, literally deeds of shit. What do Germans do to these ppl? To arrest them at sight? to let them be, or to build up a system to prevent them from doing so? I can swear in the name of every fkin god that around 90%of educated ppl here support this one cuz mass amount of personal dishonest deeds only create shit and distrust among ppl. The credits are basically of sociological and financial use but not political, so it will be visible to citizens once fully tested. Ofc current models need adjustment. (or it will cause problems like'comparative anxiety disorder' or anti-social ppl cuz poor credits) understand that ur told that this thing is some kind of deadswitch to monitor to control sth, like "when u talk shit about the gov/ politicians ur points deterioriated and u'll live a shorter life", sounds very 2048,right? No thanks. I do talk shit about some gov agencies (when they do shit work or corrupt inside) and policies, but it doesn't make a differece unless i do things above. Financially and socialy Im still clean af, right?

not any kind of "extra punishment" except for difficulties in finding jobs/granting large loans etc. Clearly the political side of this score is far too emphasized by medias even tho it's the least thing to concern actually.

China is like the worst country to visit wtf only hong kong good otherwise those pure chinese cities like beijing, guanzhou, shanghai seems flashy but fucking shit. Chinese language itself is ugly people are ugly, they hav bad manners. Not to mention the damn food almost everything fucking weird. And also forgot to mention that china has like the most shitty airport, its employees are fucking rude and barely speak any english. Feels like north korea tbh. And if you wander from city center only a little bit, youll find the most uncivilised people. The capital itself always looks smoky, gloomy and dark. I also hate hot weathers

i'm rly curious about the all " paris overrated " thing. Can you explain why your experience was dispointing ? If you are on a budget trip, it's obv not the best destination ( just like london...) but from an architectural pov you don't get any better ( ok maybe some italian cities..).
2019-03-18 15:18
Nvm, i just check your other countries rating, i get it. We are looking for different things in a city i guess . for example, I've spent 1 month in SIngapour and to me it's the most "plastic" and dull place on earth , everything is so rigid and fake, ppl are robots, nAture is non existant ( only good thing about it : it's a hub to other nice close destinations in asia).

TBF yea it is all opinion based, but i really like modern citys, and im not all that interested in old fashioned places. I see the beauty in them, but i find it gets boring quick. But there is actually a large amount of nature in singapore! you have the gardens by the bay, botanic gardens, labrador park. like you said, i think it is based around opinion :)
2019-03-18 16:48
Was expecting some kind of "triggered baguette" TBH ( cause i was a bit mad :D) . Fair enough, thanks for the answer sir, makes sense , just different opinion. Just out of curiosity , your rating is for tourism or to live there? I can see the appeal to live in Singapour: super safe, clean ... Maybe the month i was there was especially hot and crowded too, cause it was painfull.

I find the UK boring, cold and slow now, so maybe thats why the difference in opinion.

England 17 times, love the language, history, culture, theater and humor. 9/10 Italy 5 times. Great food, nature, culture, old cities, nice and lively people. Language barrier. 8/10 Sweden and Norway. Much like Denmark, but better nature and more polite people. 7/10 Germany. Lots of historical places and nice nature, but also some ugly parts. Nice but reserved people. Effective, dynamic. Reminds me of Sweden, but I don´t speak german as well. 6/10 Amsterdam/Holland. Great beautiful city with laid back people. 6/10 Beijing/China. Fascinating... only non-western country I´ve seen. Ordinary chinese are the most honest people I´ve ever met: I was chased by a taxi driver because I confused the money and paid too much. Where else would a taxi driver do that? Had 2 more experiences with extreme honesty. 6/10 New York/Philadelphia/USA. Fascinating... Ugly-pretty in so many ways. You find the best and the worst of everything. I think I would rate it higher, if I saw more than the cities. 6/10 France. Much like Italy, but more self important. Language barrier. 5/10 Israel. So much history and so many different types of people crammed into that small country. Stayed there 7 months and met the nicest and the nastiest people. Not a pretty country. 4/10 Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. Not for me. Too many unpretty places/traces of Soviet dominance. Not happy with the food. Language barrier. Prague is pretty though, and so is the mountains in northern Czechia. Czech 4/10, Hungary 3/10, Poland 2/10. My own country, Denmark: Home sweet home. Not fair to compare. Maybe 7/10

Most people like it here, so I should think you will as well. Copenhagen isn't a huge city and it is easy to get around, if you can ride a bike you'll find that really useful as the city caters a lot for bikes. Norway and Sweden is cool places also, both countries also are a lot more spacious when it comes to nature. When it comes to city life I think Copenhagen has the edge though and while we do not have mountains there is beaches, a harbor clean enough that people can swim in it and there is a power plant with ski slopes on its roof.

Denmark - Literally the exact same place as Scania (Where i live). Norway - Sweden but with way more teslas. Poland - Only really been there at Winter, and it was grey, the air felt thick and it was incredibly boring, but probably a completely different place at Summer. Germany - Idiotic drivers and atleast one German flag every Kilometer. Canada - Sweden 2.0 Can't really rate all of them, but Norway was by far the best and Poland the worst.

Paris overrated imo but Normandy was surprisingly interesting. Southern France is just amazing and my favourite place to spend the summer. UK: 7/10 Was in London as a kid. Loved their Fish n Chips and London eye was pretty cool Spain: 7/10 Madrid and Barcelona are very cool. Also never experienced bad weather there. Portugal: 8/10 Lisbon was very surprising! Awesome city Italy: 7/10 Been there a lot of times. Too many people in Rome, Florence was kinda budget Rome with less tourists. Northern Italy is very nice. Switzerland: 10/10 Only been there hiking and it was the most beautiful place i've ever hiked. Better than French Alps, Austria and Italian Tyrol. Austria: 9/10 Hiking is pretty there but its amazing to ski there because of the awesome Afterski. Croatia: 6/10 Good weather and beaches but that's pretty much it. USA: 8/10 Went to New York, Really lived up to my expectations and a bit beyond. In my one week in New York i saw more fat people than i have in my entire life in Europe. China: 5/10 Went to Beijing and Shanghai. Beijing shit, Shanghai pretty cool. People take pictures of you because you are white but you can get into clubs for free and get tables plus alcohol. Also the Great Wall was disappointing because you cant really see that much so its not as overwhelming as i thought it would be.

I'm an American so USA 10/10 obv other than that Mexico 7/10 - only went to beaches Jamaica 9/10 - hotel was fantastic, jerk chicken is fucking amazing, great beaches Belize 6.5/10 - really hot but they have all natural coca cola made in Belize so that's the good stuff UK 8/10 - was really young when I went there, and all I remember is that it rained a ton and big be was neat. Germany - 9/10 - currywurst is great, all around solid country, would visit again Switzerland - 9/10 - also really young when I went here, I remember it being awesome tho Denmark - 6.5/10 - flat af, copenhagen was pretty nice tho Sweden - 5/10 - technically got in illegally, forgot my passport at the hotel in Copenhagen, all I remember is that Malmo seemed like a ghost town. Nobody outside at all except tourists. Italy 9.5/10 - I loved every part of it, nice and warm, Rome is fantastic, as well as Pisa and Cinque Terre and Trento in the north. Austria 7/10 - Take this one with a grain of salt, I only drove through Innsbruck. Scenery was beautiful tho Vatican City 5.5/10 - no air conditioning but a lot of Jesus. St Peter's Basilica is 100% worth a visit tho

Turkey 6/10 - Went there when I was around 11. Don't remember too much but I think the touristic places were pretty nice. Denmark 7/10 - Kind of reminds me of my home country so it wasn't that exciting really. Still had a good time there. Germany 7/10 - Decent cities with a decent nightlife. Too bad the girls are not really that good looking on average (at least in my experience) France 6/10 - By far the most beautiful country in Europe. Too bad the people that live there really ruined my experiences for me :( Belgium 8/10 - Better version of The Netherlands. People are generally way nice and also the flemish accent is better to listen to. Italy 7/10 - Also a very beautiful country with nice people. Too bad it looks kinda poor in many areas in the country. Switzerland 8/10 - Very nice and organized country. Also the people are very friendly. Austria 8/10 - Same as Switzerland tbh I can't see much of a difference :) Spain 9/10 - Love the language and cultural aspects of the country. I have been there at least 6 times and I've seen both the coastal areas as well as the mainland and I just love the country :D (Also I really wish to visit the UK sometime soon since it looks like an amazing country with a very rich history)

Turkey 7 times 9/10 really warm and beautiful tourist places, people are nice too. Greece 8/10 really cool also because of warm weather but the waves of the sea were so small (;D) Russia, ST. petersburgh 7/10 really nice infrastructure and great hockey arenas (was in hockey wc here) Italy, sicily 8/10 dont remember much, but there was a bad smell all the time, otherwise great place.

Scotland (Glasgow, Oban, Isle of Barra) Wales (Cardiff, Newport) Republic of Ireland (Dublin) France (Paris, Caen, Nimes and a few other places in the Ardeche region) Italy (Bermago) Spain (Ibiza, Menorca, Malaga) Portugal (Lagos) Greece (Rhodes, Crete) Israel (Tel Aviv) Everywhere is beautiful in it's own right, be that culture, scenery, food etc. I've loved everywhere I've been for different reasons. My favourite places.. my 8/8's are Bergamo (on a rugby tour), Menorca (holiday), Ardeche (as a kid with school) and Isle of Barra (family live there). I really want to visit Norway / Sweden and Finland. Also, Canada is on my bucket list and luckily I have family there.

USA- 8/10 Peaceful enough where I’m from, living situation is good.. Canada- 8/10 Friendly people, good weather for me (I like cold) not bad Mexico- 5/10 Not the best. Sure the touristy spots are good but I’ve been to the non-tourist spots and they’re not not most family friendly DominicanRepublic- 8/10 Tropical, nice people, Bahamas- 9/10 Not a bad area to settle down in France- 8/10 Dunno why everyone gives this place shit. I’ve been to Paris, Marseilles, St. Tropez, Saint Rafael, and Nice. All relatively nice areas Germany- 10/10 Perfect. English speakers, advanced, many historical locations. Just absolutely loved it. Italy- 10/10 Venice was one of the best experiences of my life, great spot to eat, friendly locals, seems like I woke up in another magical world England- 7/10 Gloomy and dark, but a good place for touring. Weather is nice but the people aren’t as much ST. Thomas- 3/10 3rd world with e. coli water. We had to boil our water in order to have it safe to drink

USA 7/10 Probably my second home, spent 6 years here so far and I love USA. Japan 10/10 One of the best. Thailand 6/10 Too many tourist baits and dirty city. But people are friendly. South Korea 5/10 Not worth going. Switzerland 9/10 Everything is perfect except the price. Germany 8/10 Everything is perfect , except, met two rude old people in a train station in Munich. France 6/10 France used to be good but not anymore. Italy 5/10 Homeless people wandering on streets are disturbing. Florence is a very beautiful city. Czech 10/10 Very nice. Poland 10/10 Very nice and good price for tourists. Netherlands 9.5/10 Very nice and very nice drug. Austria 8/10 Overrated. Spain 0.5/10 Nice food and people. Beautiful architecture in Barcelona. -0.5 because Ibiza is overrated. Australia 7/10 Good. But there were two times, got yelled “Ching Chong” by Aussies driving on the street.

Brazil 5/10 - it could easily be a 10/10, food, nature, weather, parties... violence screws everything. Portugal 8/10 - Lisbon and Porto are amazing. Spain 7/10 - had a good time in Barcelona, but parties in Brazil are way better. Italy 9/10 - culture, food, weather, sightseeing France 6/10 - lived in Paris for a couple months working at my former employer hq, located at the tour montparnasse. Paris means work for me. Southern France 8/10. Germany 5/10 - boring. Some cool things to do. But way too overrated. Denmark 3/10 - nothing really unique to see/do. Copenhagen is a small city with standard euro architecture. UK 9/10 - Scotland is one of my favorites places on earth. USA 7/10 - currently living in central Florida. California 9/10. Mexico 6/10 - Mexico city is nice if you have money. Rosarito is a good place to get drunk. Argentina 7/10 - Buenos Aires is overrated. Bariloche is gorgeous, but for me the best place in the whole country is cordoba and Its surroundings, had the time of my life in villa Carlos paz. Uruguay 6/10 - it is quite a picturesque country. Food (meat) is fantastic. Paraguay 3/10 - ciudad del leste is a scammer's paradise. Chile 7/10 - Santiago de Chile is very clean and modern. Planning a visit to japan/south Korea latter this year.

France 7.5/10 Paris is nice, but has a lot of traffic and people. Also did a linguistic stay there and the people seemed generally friendly. Germany 7.5 /10 the Autobahn was so fast the country was all blurry. Canada ? /10 only went over the border at Niagra Falls for 2 hours or so Italy 10/10 Lots of childhood memories bc I went there every summer break until I was 12 years old or so. Once a pensioner was walking next to my family on a sidewalk, said "Bambini!!" And gave me a couple of euros for an ice cream. UK 4/10 Not really sure about this rating bc I only went there for a linguistic stay. My host family lived in a rather poor area. I imagine the northern part of the UK has quite the beautiful nature. USA 9/10 beautiful nature and nice people. Lots of things to see.

Norway (Living Here) 10/10 Norway (Visiting) 9/10 Norway is soooo expensive, but if you live here the wage is enough to live really nicely here. Sweden 7/10 - Pretty alike Norway, but I find the people in Norway nicer and the nature is way ahead in Norway. The Swedish language is nicer tho Denmark 8/10 - Denmark is really alike Sweden and Norway, but i find the nature worse than Norway, but better than Sweden, i also find the Danish people nicer. BUT Danish is literally THE ugliest language in the world. Germany 7/10 - I like Germany, nice people, some nice nature and i actually find german really fun Japan 8/10 - Great Culture, different and pretty good food France 8/10 - Decent food, nice for tourists, many places to visit and mostly nice people England 7/10 - Awesome country, Nice culture, easy language, many sweet spots Italy 8/10 - Amazing food, nice people, nice nature, and yeah, AMAZING FOOD

Uruguay: It's like mini Argentina but our brothers are more humble compared to some cocky people in our capitals, they are like people from Entre Rios and the Litoral. I loved it 9/10. Also food was great and really cheap at that time for us. Brazil: I went to the south, sadly the climate was cloudy and rainy, anyways their people was very friendly and good hearted, beautiful beaches, beautiful women. Prices were similar. 7/10 for our irmãos. Paraguay: I've nothing against you bros, you're good people, but your governments... I'm gonna be honest, there was lot of poverty, inequality, really bad infrastructure, no respect for the law and illegal markets everywhere. 3/10 I hope your country someday improves and gets better.

I never "talked crap". I just marked some true aspects that are the consequences of their bad governments. I wish they would improve so they have better life conditions. What do you want me to say? To say Paraguay is looking like Norway or something? Stop being such a hypocrite.

A little copy-paste: USA TODAY Published 3:51 PM EDT Mar 20, 2019 For the second year in a row, the world's happiest country is... Finland! Finland topped the list of 156 countries, which were ranked in the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network's 2019 World Happiness Report. The report ranks countries on several well-being variables including income, freedom, trust, healthy life expectancy and more. Two other Nordic countries came in second and third place, Denmark and Norway, respectively. On the other hand, South Sudan ranked the least happy on the list. Where does the United States fall? At No. 19, a slip from last year's 18th spot (which was already down four places from 2017).
