Alien civilizations?

If alien civilizations exist, where are they? Why we hear nothing about anyone else? Universe is HUGE, we should notice at least some of them.

Imagine being an alien on Earth. No rights, no income, smelly air. If you land in some tribes land they would try to eat your heart for some powers, if you land on NA CIA kidnap you.

yeah the fermi paradox is pretty interesting, but you have to take into consideration the size and distance between potential habital planets the most likely option is that we could possibly be the most advanced type of life, atleast in the observable universe + the time and chance it would take a civilization to become so advanced that it would eventually rule the universe probably can never happen i mean just in our planet if 1 war happens life is over

lots of obstacles to become human level intellectual - have life - have multicellural (or similar) life - do not get hit by a huge asteroid all the time to wipe you out - become intelligent And million other smaller obstacles. So yea that could be it. We could be the only ones in the closest 15b ly of the universe. Self replicating probes could colonize the whole galaxy in relatively short time, yet we see no evidence of them. We see no alien radio waves (we've almost stopped emitting them ourselves, data moves as light in optical cables). We see no dyson spheres. Nothing. Maybe there is a lot of life out there, but it never gets as complex as it is here. We are the product of so many chances that it is amazing. Anthropic principle at work. Or maybe advanced aliens have no reason to make themselves noticeable or roam the galaxy. We just don't see them. Or they are so different from ourselves, we don't notice them. It can be any of the above tbh.

yeah i definitely believe there is life out there, just not a lot of advanced life, especially civilizations more advanced than we are atm
2019-03-18 17:29
I strongly agree on the most part but what bothers me is your term 'most likely'. I wouldn't say that. from our sceptical point of view we tend to believe this and due to our natural arrogance that we are so very special. too many galaxies, stars and matter is out there. so much time passed. i think life is common. intelligent life is probably rare but we are without a doubt NOT alone in this universe, it's mathematically impossible.

human mind set thinking about ruling everything :'D "we have to tame this horse" "we have to win this war for the sake of peace" the best oxymoron people tend to say while killing each other for "peace".. the most advanced type of life doesn't use words to communicate etc. etc. etc. on the other hand youtube.com/watch?v=M7CkdB5z9PY

distances are too big, in fact, literally astronomical. its possible once (older civilizations, egypt, math of the pyramids) we made contact but thats pure speculation. the question is if any advanced civil. can travel faster than light and if so, does it want to be seen or known by us? I don't think so. barbaric humans still too stupid. out social intelligence is still stuck in the dark ages.

What makes you think they wouldn't be barbaric too? You talk like you've known many Aliens.
2019-03-18 17:26
someone who can travel through worm holes (or any other method used to travel faster than light) mastered life and the universe beyond anything we can imagine. barbarism could be common, yes. but not within highly advanced civilizations. my philosophical opinion which many scientists who speculated on this matter share.

>Universe is HUGE exactly this, they could be so extremely far away that none of our radio signals even reached them yet and won't reach during our life times
2019-03-18 17:25
Basically, we humans are also aliens because our planet is in the universe. Maybe once long time ago we were highly intelligent aliens, but now we just became stupid morons.

You asked a question but already answered it. "Universe is HUGE, we should notice at least some of them." That's exactly the reason why we don't notice them... Planet Earth is the 3rd smallest planet in our solar system. If you would compare the Milky Way with an Ocean, than Planet Earth would be like a drop of water. Not only that but distances between Planets are freaking huge.
2019-03-18 17:32
+1 we dont have technology yet to travel huge distances
