remember that your sensitivity should be relevant to the aspect ratio you use because of the different FOVs. Some sensitivity ranges are good for 16:9. Some only for 4:3. Etc Depending on the mouse etc etc etc. Do what is comfortable and practical for the res you use etc

This guy gets it, I’m on a stretched 1920x1080 (is it 16:9?) and 800dpi 1.7 sens feels smooth and ballanced between actual aim window potential and precision if you see what I mean Probably not using the right words
2019-03-19 10:09
Same for me. 16:9, 800dpi and 1.7 sens. Best specs for me, and I've tested many.

Yeah, I'm on 0,39 1600DPI and I still feel it's a little bit too high sometimes. How the hell do they play on 1,7 800 DPI XD

I recently tried going 0.8 and when I swiped my mouse, my crosshair flew like crazy from one point to another, and I was like nope. But 1.7? Holy damn.

It's because you are not used for very small movements in this sens. Ofc it's nice to flick heads left and right like Scream with high sens but sens is good only if you can be very precise on small pixel adjustment, like small slow but accurate moves. If you can't do them, you will also whiff on bigger distance. It takes practice but you can develop steadiness (aim map and such). I was playing 400x1,8 and even 1,85 seemed impossible for me. But I trained hard and now 400x2.02 feels exactly like 1,8. I don't feel like loosing accuracy and it's not crazy fast anymore. I would say your wrist need to get used to a bit slower movement, cause usually at 1,6-1,8 people flex the arm a lot

Guess I've played too much arcade shooters so I got used to it. My friend, who is much better than I am, plays on a much higher sens than me.
2019-03-21 15:20
Why would it be relevant? the sensitivity impacts how fast your model turns, so flicks are the same no matter which ratio you use
2019-03-19 20:15
This. This only matters if you switch resolution so your hand eye coprdination works same as before but otherwise it is irrelevant.

me - 800 dpi + 4 sens.
2019-03-19 10:15
he said low sens, how does dpi matter? u can have 1600 dpi and still 0.2 sens, its still low sens. HE SAID LOW SENSSSSSSSSSSSSS
2019-03-19 08:35
400dpi most stable dpi(most solid aim)
2019-03-19 09:40
depends on sensor. Some sensors disrupt on low dpi (some on high)
2019-03-19 09:42
Uh you should only be using the 3310 3389 or 3360 in the first place and they are best on 400dpi. Every 800 dpi aimer will aim better on 400dpi its just facts. 800 dpi just puts more movement in the wrist is why people like to do it it seems
2019-03-19 09:46
yep agree but some people spend alot of time for playing with old mouses with old sensors and just dont want to adapt for new settings
2019-03-19 10:38
400 DPI much worse for me then 800. I can't even play 400 DPI 1920x1080 coz I just can't move my aim just a notch. This results into me just flicking more. I've fooled around with the settings since CS1.5. and you've got nothing to back your claim. Agree that there are some sensors that are more adept for FPS like CSGO.
2019-03-19 16:03
Of course you set a higher in-game sensitivity with lower dpi... The most common sensors just work more stable on 400dpi. But yeah, the difference is really minimal and really has no effect.
2019-03-19 21:29
400 vs 800 I can really feel the difference. Obviously I scale sensitivity relatively (doubling it as I go a 400 step up and so forth) while it isn't even completely linear with that. I've used the same sensitivity myself for years and nowadays I tend to always just find the highest point where I can rely on my flick accuracy. That sensitivity is for me currently around 0.8 @ 1600 DPI. Can't use 800 DPI as my current mouse only does 400 or 1600 (lol) but I don't play in a serious manner so I don't really care. It's a otherwise solid mouse. W7, MarkC mousefix and QPad OM-75 as a mouse. I won't sidetrack to that any more but when I play on 400 DPI my mouse movements lack the finishing touches and f.e. moving my mouse just 1-3 pixels exactly is basically impossible for me, I tend to rely on angles much much more when I am playing on 400 DPI. It feels like the crosshair sticks for a much wider movement span on 400 the 800 - which it does, but I can actually feel it and could before I knew what the reason was. I thought this is was something normal.. Anyhow, I've tried DPI between 400 and 800 and it's all good just differs in style but for me the best stable aiming DPI is 800 and that is my cap. After that it's a bit unreliable and it's just more day dependant in general. I've tested it with many DPI, seems the higher I go the harder it is for me to adjust after a period of time while sensitivity would stay relatively the same. Some people seem to like even higher DPI.
2019-03-20 13:51
Weird, with my Zowie ZA12 1.6 400dpi is exactly same as 0.8 800dpi. I guess it is just about the sensor.
2019-03-20 15:44
Last mouse I had was a Zowie FK and had the same thing with that. Can list a lot of other mice from Razer, Logitech and so on. I haven't really tested the ScreaM mice or a few others but.. I'd say it's the difference between 400 and 800 dpi more then the sensors.
2019-03-20 19:10
i dont know if its a different story for like the steelseries mouse woxic plays on for example with the high dpi etc etc :p
2019-03-19 09:46
Woxic uses a sensei. A laser mouse that works better at (not extremelly) high dpi.

It's true and easily testable that high dpi reduces pixel skipping. But even as low as 400 dpi it doesn't matter and is hardly noticeable when zoomed in as far as possible. Anyone who thinks dpi matters is just extremely paranoid. All that matters is eDPI and what's comfortable on the desktop.
2019-03-19 19:15
False. Go watch rocket jump ninja. 3310/3360 sensors sweetpoint is at 2000-3200 dpi. Its not like sh*t ton smoother , but yet its fact.

go on mirage in mid window and look at top boxes. You should try to flick from the left side to the right side and make your adjustments like that. just take two points a decent distance apart and flick back and fourth, if you go past the points, you need to lower your sens, if you dont get to the points up it. And most importantly it should feel natural.

I'd argue that being able to track a point when moving will help you find a comfortable sens more reliably. Because flick tests will just always be best somewhere close to the sens you're already on and used to. But you can see if your sens is too high pretty easily if you cant track a headsized object.
2019-03-19 19:19
+1 yeah if he has no experience in the game doing both flick test and tracking would be beneficial. crosshair placement also plays a big part here, a lot of newer players don't realize that you should stay head level.

Yeah, but just because a small handful of people are good on this sens doesn't mean that it's likely the average person will be. You can get used to any settings, but the average pro uses a sens on the low side. (900 edpi i think). It's just always more consistent, so it's worth the tradeoffs most times.
2019-03-19 19:21

I use 400 dpi and 1.35 sens But someone like woxic who uses ridiculously high sens is still good at aiming. Remember, cs isn't quake, aim isn't the most important thing.
2019-03-19 09:15
prosettings.net/cs-go-pro-settings-gear-.. If you look on this website you can see what dpi pro's are using. The general AWP'er will have about 400 dpi and 2.0 - 2.2 dpi. But there are exceptions to this rule. S1mple, for example, has a dpi of 400 but a sensitivity of 3.09 (!), which is a 50% increase over the average AWP sensitivity. This gives him the opportunity to have more insane flicks as he van now hit wider shots, if that makes any sense. On the other hand, AWP'ers like Guardian prefer a lower sensitivity of 1.3 because he likes to hold angels more that get the entry. Therefore he doesn't need to make crazy flicks and having a lower sensitivity makes it easier not to move his hand too much and overextend his aim. For riflers the average is also around 400 dpi and a sensitivity of 2.0 but most riflers have a bit more or a bit less according to their preferences. To be fair I think that the sensitivity for a rifler is pretty much personal preference. In conclusion, set your dpi to 400 and only change the sensitivity in game. If you are an entry-AWP'er or a very dynamic AWP'er consider a higher sensitivity of 2.5 to 3.0 but be wary S1mple is one of the only AWP'ers to have such a high sensitivity and it requires GREAT skill. If your more of a passive AWP'er you may want to consider a lower sensitivity. The disadvantage is that you will be needing a bigger mousepad because you have to move your hand more in non-stationary AWP-ing. I hope this has been enough explanation: Good luck finding your appropriate sensitivity.

anything between 1.7-2.3 is perfect for the majority of players.

I'd recommend putting your DPI to 400, or 800 but halving the sens. It really doesn't matter what you play on, of course you'll be more innaccurate at higher senses, but if you keep switching back and forth you're going to be innaccurate anyway. I'd reccommend going for something like 2 or 2.2, and adjusting higher or lower if you feel like it (lowest 1.7, highest 2.5). Ultimately, as long as you find a sensitivity between those two and stick to it, you'll find your sens pretty soon.

What sens you should be using is different for every player. As long as you feel comfortable and stick to your sens for a longer period of time it doesn't matter. Rule number one is to not change your sens once you've got used to it.

Low sens = more control of movement but its not equal with more skill/aimwise. All You need to do is practice, practice and one more practice. Only that makes You more skilled.
2019-03-19 10:30
U have better movement controll with avg/higher sens than low, lol, U ever tried to play 400 less eDPI??????
2019-03-19 10:40
if you have lower sens, you have to move your mouse further to aim. so you can be more accurate because you can move slowly more precisely. or it can make you less accurate because you have to move your mouse around the table at 10000km per hour. if someone peeks you close. if you play high sens, you dont have to hurry but you will have to practice more to be able to aim precisely. it depends on the person what works best. i like playing high sens. do i go around on forum telling everyone who plays lower sens that their hand eye coordination is shit and they are spastic?
2019-03-19 10:48
exactly my thought
2019-03-19 15:50
Iam talking about movement with low sens, I think its much easier to move good with avg sens (not gonna use word high cuz high is 3+ on 400dpi ) but with "higher" its much easier to do skill jumps and shit I guess. I used to play low sens like 1.4 @400 few months, felt good my aim was nice but my movement acrobation was worse I guess, especially with AWP (Iam awper tho) I felt like moving around was harder. For AWER I think its much better higher sens than low cuz u Can be more offensive and shit, with low sens and AWP i felt little passive
2019-03-19 20:11
thats true that moving skills are easier with higher sens, but as i said earlier all depends on individual preference. For me bunny hops etc. are just addition to cs. Aim is definitely more important. I also like to play with awp and can't imagine to flick precisely with high sense. But if You're fine with that thats good for You dude.
2019-03-24 22:31
Low sens is an crutch. Good players can use high sens to hold angles and you get the plus of faster flicks.
2019-03-19 10:47
its more than a crutch. it really does help on super long range, if you have to aim at the right quarter of a pixel, if you can move your mouse more than 1 thread on your mousepad

but it also depends on other stuff... monitor, mouse quality etc there's no way in hell for you to hit a shot from one part of the map to another with a rifle(ie from goose to pit with m4) if your monitor or eyesight sucks

trust me it doesn't matter, look at simples cologne clutch, cold's jumping awp, i had situation where I jumped with awp on top of mid mriage and no scoped guy who was in window.. match earlier guy who was at white box jump shoted me with awp when i was in garage....
2019-03-20 00:11
those 2 pro awp clutches you mention were before valve changed the games jumping accuracy mechanic but after they changed the inaccuracy formulas to rebalance m4 and ak. it was a lot easier to get jumping awp kills in that period. idk i feel like it takes away from the impact of it that if the same players played the same today they would have a much lower % of getting those shots. thats why ppl dont try it anymore

500 DPI, 1.2 sense, 1000hz, no accel. I can aim with wrist with alot of precision, and aim with arm to turn fast, I use Ss Qck mass which is not too big. I lift my hand alot so you really need a good sensor, but I can 180o like that kinda easily, I even play FFA and I can manage myself decently. Nowadays I can swipe my mouse across my mousepad without getting out of it without looking. I came from 450 DPI, 3 sense so believe me, it’s just a matter of getting used to it. Remember, do your best to keep your xhair at head level, where youre looking at and at places where enemies might show up.

You should make a circle with ak on a wall in custom server. Place your crosshair inside it and start moving only using A and D and try to maintain the crosshair placement. The sens at which you feel best, is the sens for you. Mine is near 1 for 1000 dpi so I use 1 in game sense.

I play at 1500dpi with 0.5 ingame sense. I always want to turn about 200° when I do one swipe on my mid/large sized pad. Different sensitivity does give you edges in different situations in the game. There is no such thing as optimal when it comes to it.
