Article 13
 |
Germany EvilBanana
If we lose this today, we lost to lobbying and populism. They never had an Argument. They called us Bots, paid demonstrants, ... . They Made a Secret Agreement so that france gets the hard law and germany gets Nordstream. A sad day for democracy.

Pro article 13 people never gave an answer on how it should work. Comes Out that the only reason they Made this is because connections between german politicians in the EU commission and the biggest German publishing service. During the debate we were Not taken as humans but as bots. Media outlets spread out lies rather than trying to have debate. And now It comes Out the reason why we have such a bad Version of the law is that france will Vote for Nordstream only If Germany votes for this hard article 13 law and it passes. Complete bullshit

Not sure that Article 17 (old article 13) is so bad... I havent read enough about it to be sure but if the intention is to filter the content on GAFA platforms it could be a good idea. In a long term it will force us to move to really free platform like PeerTube instead of Youtube, Mastodon instead of Facebook... Today GAFA are all powerfull and using our data for many hidden purpose only to get a lot of cash (without paying taxes of course). So having a really free internet and removing toxic intermediate platform could also be a good thing dont you think ?

And when some of them were asked how they think this should/could be done they either don't know or hope that the technology will advance to this magical levels in the next 2 years xdd

The thing is that the small platforms will also have to Install uploadfilters after three years. And who they gonna buy the filters of, right GAFA, because they have them. Also preemptive Filtering Like the law wants it, will censor our freedom of speech because the Filter cant understand what we are doing. There are big court cases If something is Copyright infringement or is fair use and now the Filter shall Just decide that. With which technology.

ofc u will lose cuz u have no saying in this some 100 ppl decide the faith and the future of 500 millions. this is how this system works. democracy is a word they invented to make u believe u have rights

Its clear they are only driven by money at this point. The only thing they value higher than money is there own life. Demonstrations or Petitions do nothing, so lets get them were it really hurts.
2019-03-26 12:29
True. Everyone always says we should be peaceful but this just doens't work anymore. They don't give a fuck. Something has to be done what really gets their attention.

can a hltv expert tl:dr what consequences article 13 has?
2019-03-26 12:29
no memes anymore.
2019-03-26 12:32
article 13 = websites are responsible for the content users upload, which means they can be find big money if a user uploads copyrighted stuff. So they will use "uploadfilters" which will probably not work so many sites might ban european users.

Uploadfilter for all Profit driven Internet sites that are more than 3 years old. The EU countries will have to make their own laws about this Shit. So we will have tons of different laws and in the end there will be uploadfilters Made my big American companies that small european companies will have to pay for If they allow the user to upload stuff. (Like a Forum) The filters will block Satire and stuff because the algorithm wont be able to Tell If IT IS a Copyright infringement or satire. And there is also a Lot of other stuff. For example article 12 that Just Takes away money from the rightholders and puts it to the publishing Services. Article 11 is law that has been Tested in a light Form in two countries and didnt work and now they want the hard Form in the whole of Europe.
2019-03-26 12:39

How does this copyright thing affect me?
2019-03-26 13:15
For example, on Youtube if you upload a video with a copyrighted song included, YOU are responsible, whilst under Article 13, if you upload the same video, Youtube is responsible, meaning that they have to resort to blocking you, maybe even completely block you off uploading or entering the site, same with Twitch, you won't be able to stream with music in the background, and copyrighted images will not be sharable (public) whatsoever without permission.

2019-03-26 14:54
even if you give credits to its owners? thats idiotic.
2019-03-26 13:36
That most likely depends on the owner, some artists allow others to use their music if they simply give credit, whilst bigger ones will most likely copyright claim your ass instantly.

More money for big Media editor as little creator will not be able to get paid as they usually do. This is one argument. As only big companies (google facebook) will be the only one able to apply it, it will reinforce their already monopolistic power This is a second argument. Now you can be against Google, Facebook, BBC, Warner, Sony, etc.. But you are the one who need to give argument against them.
