ok let me be more clear so you guys understand: MEMES ARE STILL ALLOWED.
2019-03-26 17:22
Yes "memes" are still allowed as long as they comply with all the rules set by 50+ yo men who also get to defy what is or isn't sarcasm etc.
2019-03-26 20:56
most memes are created from movies so yes they ban memes if that movie has a copyright

yes but people are concerned that filters wont be able to tell the difference between parody and straight up infringement because how the fuck would they
2019-03-26 17:25
Yea it's amazingly difficult. I imagine over time the law will change.
2019-03-26 17:56
maybe the work the same way as the youtube filters they used before the gema-licensing?
2019-03-26 21:10
I lived in a cave. Can someone explain what is article 13?

Websites will MISTAKENLY ban copyrighted material, even in small amounts (like memes), because the filters cannot function well enough to seperate memes from copyright infringements.
2019-03-26 17:25
The issue isn't the mistakenly banning copyrighted material, it's that social media platforms are responsible for sensoring copyrighted material before they're uploaded. And yes, that means EVERYTHING in the world that's been made by someone. So they have pay copyright fees for EVERYTHING ever made. This would cost too much --> ban/sensor every EU user from every platform. Also article 11 sensors freedom of speech from smaller newspapers/blogs/media and gives power to the mainstream ones

If there's one good thing to come out of all this it's the end of meme culture.

Article 13 is proof that normal people will never be safe from leftism. One way or another the leftists will find a way to censor your speech and SHUT YOU UP. There is no escape. There is no freedom. Obey your masters, slaves. Shut up and do what corporate media tells you to do!!!! You will not meme. You will not make "hate speech". You will not consume alternative media. YOU WILL DO AS YOU ARE TOLD, CITIZEN. so just shut up and take that big dick, EU. ))))))))))))))))

Article 13 has nothing to do with leftists, for the most part. Authoritarians can be both left and right.
2019-03-26 20:46
Who was a far right aurthoritiarn? Hitler was a socialist iirc so that doesn’t count.

Margaret Thatcher, according to the political compass website.
2019-03-26 20:55
margaret thatcher wasn't far right or authoritarian. deary me. put a couple socialist miners out of a subsidised public sector job and suddenly you're hitler lul. leftist education at it's finest.
2019-03-26 20:57
that is certainly their opinion, it's laughable. i don't think you will find it anywhere in mainstream discussion that Thatcher was fascist, far-right or authoritarian. she was libertarian. she believed in small government, privatisation and flat taxes. she was a great PM.

It's not their opinion, it's based on the test provided on their website. Although it is pretty flawed imo, since the range of questions is too broad.
2019-03-26 21:04
for the most part it does. there are far left people who i actually agree with, who are against statism and who are allies against censorship. but the main push for this is from normie centre-left faggots which overpopulate the West today. the everyday plebs who go along with "hate speech" laws. the mindless corporate media consuming scum who read about censorship on social media and go along with it. the people who think sources like CNN and the BBC are the gold standard of reputable, unbiased journalism. the ones who are happy to let a cabal of like-minded social media giants monopolise online activity. the politically correct, brainwashed masses.
