I completely know and agree, I am not contradicting what you say but there are differences. Not always but sometimes. The difference might not be evident to someone casual but it might be the missing link for the hardcore. But more then that, tell me a company that has been going on providing a product with no usability and appeal and boasting negative ratings by users left, right and behind. Marketing and PR is of utmost importance in todays business but a high-enough quality product which leaves users satisfied makes or breaks companies. Obviously there are niche's in most things where you can work to survive but flourishing is a different story.
