2019-03-28 04:56
if you train arms, remove all triceps exercise and do only dips with weight 5x5 2 weeks, than 1 week with no weight 5x1rep sill failure, than repeat it will boost you triceps strength = more you will bench and deadlift

170kg 1RM, I hope you just calculated that and are not actually doing 1 reps or you can already start saving money for joint surgery.
2019-03-29 11:31
Sorry, but only underdeveloped countries like usa charge money for health care. And doing singles is completely fine
2019-03-29 11:37
no, it's not completely fine lol. educate yourself in anatomy and powerlifting before you speak
2019-03-29 11:58
Explain to me what lifts are bad to do for singles and why:3
2019-03-29 12:23
2019-03-29 12:36
The first article said 1rm is bad for beginners who can't lift The 2nd article said 2rm is better for strength Even if I grant both of those premises (which are just the opinion of 2 guys), that still doesn't indicate that 1rm is bad for joints. I've been lifting for 7-8 years and in my experience, 1rm is damn fun and a damn good way to motivate yourself. I have only been injured once from lifting and I was doing high volume ohp.

gl with your 1rm, compare Ronny Coleman and Jay Cutler now. Ronnie = lots of 1rm, now has surgery after surgery, lost almost all of his muscle Cutler = focused on proper form and didn't do any power-lifting, now he is still a muscle beast. Your choice and leave my "underdeveloped" country out of this discussion, it has nothing to do with the topic. And btw do you really think your health care is free? You are either 12 years old, a student, living on benefits or still living with your mum, then yes health care is free for you, but still others pay for you.
2019-03-30 08:33
I'm a natty lifter, why the fuck would I compate myself to Ronnie coleman and jay Cutler? Goes to show how far you have to reach when you bring up something completely irrelevant
2019-03-30 09:03
not really fair to compare because ronnie loved doing that and said that he has no regrets
2019-03-30 09:10
I always finish my sessions with 1 rms. Been doing that for 15 years and never had any injuries in the process nor disconfort in my join. Then again i run daily and can still clean my ass unlike most roid heads.

thing with ronny coleman is he got older and when he started getting injured he would still lift through injuries which is insane there is nothing wrong with doing 1rm, its different for everyone and depends what on what you are doing it for which most of the time it is just to see where you are at etc.

My 1 leg is like 2cm shorter than the other, I cannot find the proper balance deadlifting as I cannot keep my spine right, same with squats. (it's my upper leg so standing on something won't help, because if you bend the leg 45 degrees, it would push my shorter leg to be HIGHER and disbalances me even more). No deadlifterinos for me :(

your knees? Are you bumping them with the bar during the movement?
2019-03-29 02:52
Nope that is a mistake i really early learned to get around. But my knees surely arent behind my toes when im all the way down. Now with squatting many opinions are around if this should be considered a mistake/harmfull, same should most likely apply for deadlifting. But from what i've read it isn't as bad a people thought back in the day.
2019-03-29 13:07

My max is probably 150-160 but I hesitate to go harder on as it increases waist size and gives you that meathead look.

Denmark how_much_
I don't know about actual peer-reviewed sources but these are the muscles that experience the highest recruitment with a standard deadlift bit.ly/2YC1CUn . Also if you look at pictures of the best deadlifters they either have long arms or they are wide as fuck.# Fx take a look at stefi cohen i.redd.it/ltlzfcl4jla11.jpg she has a 4x times bodyweight deadlift. that waist is wide as fuck.
2019-03-29 12:00
Seems more like her core is well developed which indeed widens the waist. You could say that core focused workouts and heavy compound exercises promote that, but as long as you are lean there is no problem. Slim waist is more of a feminine body configuration anyway(talking about us).

 |
Denmark how_much_
Well at the end of the day its a personal preference to prefer a slim waist. But I would say that most people prefer slim waists and wide shoulders. For men its that tapered look seen here pbs.twimg.com/media/DI9vvXnVAAAY96-.jpg
2019-03-29 12:27
Must be, but since I love going heavy I would never stop that just for the looks. My concern with looks only extends to eating healthy and staying relatively lean. But to each its own I guess.

Back in the gym after a year out and just creeping back in slowly, doing 100kg 6 reps after 4 weeks. I tend to drop the amount of reps to 3-4 when I go higher than 120kg. Not a big fan of deadlift but it's a must if you want to make some gains. I put a lot of fat on over that year (had my first baby), currently 84kg (I was 91kg at my worst last year) - 5ft7.5" - probably between 18-20%bf at the moment I'd guess.

Deadlift is the most overrated exercise ever, if you are not going to compete in pl competition any time soon then you are wasting your time with deadlifts. It doesn't develop muscles as much as other thing in gym do. legs - squats back - barbell row chest - incline bench Deadlift is just nowhere near.
2019-03-29 12:21
I'm glad I read this, glad to have found someone who knows so much about competing in PL what's your total? 200kg?
2019-03-29 12:27
you have no idea what youre Talking About :D deadlifts are by far THE BEST EXERCISE for developing musclemass.. not only that you directly target your quads, hams, glutes, your whole back and your forearms, its also the exercise that Releases the most Hormones which supports muscle growth for your whole Body ure scared to 1v1 me in Chess

Will your spine heal?
2019-04-11 02:38
Yeah, it's almost fully healed. They did something called a spinal fusion, basically putting in steel rods to stabilize the spine. I just had surgery to remove the hardware, so I'm healing from that now. I can do most of the stuff (probably low weight deadlift as well) but I don't see a point in risking anything.

I actually don't know. It wasn't like i was doing an exercise and it popped or something. It just started hurting out of nowhere to a point I can't even move it sometimes. Will do some scans soon to see what's happening.

On normal forums people actually often post videos of them doing shit. On hltv it's the intersideral void in that regard. 100+ replies with nothing, makes you wonder.

182kg x 3 is my PR
2019-04-12 02:40
Pro tip if you're trying to max on DL, do decently big jumps and don't waste energy trying 180kg first etc just straight 160kg (one rep) - > 200kg or something along those lines.
